Chapter 41

Kane’s POV

21

Are we being harsh?I ponder, watching from the window to see both Tessa and Erin exiting the jet with Anthony as we wait behind to give them all ahead start back to the centre

Nah! They at least deserve the silent treatment to reflect on what they both did not harsh at all!Seth huffs out like a stubborn child as I release a rich laugh at his pettiness

It took every last ounce within my self control not to lose the complete rag with Tessa last night when we had gotten back from the festival, and I was scared for what I could’ve done

With the little reason I had left by the time we reached my front steps, I told her to get out of my sight for her own benefit and for mine to at least give me time to cool off before anyone got hurt

Afterwards, I sat in my office with Seth and discussed what had happened, with the whole ordeal landing on the worst possible moment when we were due to bring them back to the centre todayof course it was on the last day of her trial

We were out of time now and there was only two options moving forward. It was either that I get over what happened and just treat it as a one off (trusting that Tessa won’t fuck up that badly ever again) or I take my chances elsewhere with somebody else who knows how to act right twenty four

seven

I couldn’t help but ignore the gnawing fact that what had happened seemed incredibly out of character for Tessa and I couldn’t piece together what she had been thinking before it either

Why would she do that

When she knows my temper?

Did she think it was funny

Or is Tessa and Erin bad news when they hang out together? Perhaps they bring out the worst in one

another

I don’t think that she would want to jeopardise our relationshipor would she

Chapter 41

Does she even want me to keep her around or was this their grand plan to get brought back here all along hating their time away from home

I doubt it considering that we had treated them both like royals for the whole time she had spent

living in my home

We can let them panic for today, make them nervous about the choosing tomorrow. Maybe then they will realise that we almostweren’t going to progress with things and won’t do anything remotely like it again?Seth suggests, as I watch Anthony’s car drive off into the cloudy distance

Fine, but you’ll need to go for the meeting about taking Erin back again for a trial period nowwe can do that as soon as we get there and explain the situation with Leo.I state, knowing that there could potentially be hurdles in Seth and Erin getting granted a new trial

But it’s a good thing that I’m the Alphathey won’t want to piss me off so I’m guessing it should be

an easy fix

They better just let me take her and cut the shit!Seth states, as we both stand and prepare to leave the jet with the girls both out of sight completely

For somebody so dead set on giving them the silent treatment you sound lost without your damn human!I laugh and shake my head at him, knowing deep down that neither of us were actually prepared to let them out of our grasp whether they had badly fucked up or not

–

I don’t think I would find another Tessa amongst the masses of desperate and incredibly false females. From what I had seen, they were all pretty much the same. I liked Tessa on that first day because she was broken, and I wanted to give her a chance to prove her worth which, until last night, she had lived up to my expectations

With that thought, we take our leave, heading down into the waiting SUV vehicle at the bottom of the steps, moving to climb in just seconds before the spits of rain begin to pour down on top of the

car roof

It grows heavier within seconds before it begins to pound down upon the pavements, and I remember just how much I hate coming to the North East

Shit ass weather!I make my annoyance for it known, as we drive through the roads on our way back to the centre where it had all first began

Chapter 41

It wasn’t far, and after a brief silence we got there in no time, parking up in the visitor entrance to find the headmistress Margot Felicity waiting under a small shelter to shield herself from the rain

I didn’t like her for the way she had been caught speaking to and treating the humans however this was their job. Keeping everyone in line and preparing the girls to know their place amongst us temperamental wolves

Cutting the engine, we climb out, rushing towards the entrance, as her tight smile is forced to widen at seeing us both approach

How did you find the trial period then, Alpha? With our Tessa was it?She ponders with an odd

look, before opening up the door to bring us inside greeted by warmth and the smell of fresh paint

They had clearly gotten round to decorating these past two weeks by the looks of the flashy white

walls and newly hanged frames

We completely understand if you may not want to keep Tessa around nowand don’t be shy to tell

us that either. She can be a difficult one at the best of times! She decides to speak out once again since I had ignored her first question, leading us both in to a meeting room as my attention was

suddenly piqued by her words

What does she mean by that statement

Was there a side to Tessa that I hadn’t yet unraveled

From what I had seen thus far, she was nothing more than a mousy shy human with some trust issuesbut was it all just an act? It can’t be! I would’ve seen through it…

Oh you knowplease come in and take a seat get comfy! She pauses, holding the door for us both to come inside her office to sit down

No I don’t know what you mean. Please continue?I push her, as she gets comfortable opposite from us both and places her elbows on the light wood table

Well Alpha, you seen the way she turned up to the judgement day her very first one too at that?! I was surprised that you had even selected her number I thought it was a typo! It was a complete rebellion and if you hadn’t had saved her that day then she would have been punished for it accordingly!Margo concludes, blunt and dry as she gain shows her distaste for the females she was put in charge of.

Chapter 41

Is that all she has to go off of? Because Tessa didn’t look pristine on her first judgement day like the

others

From what I have gathered, the whole incident was completely out of her control that day

Did you even know that the other students had attacked her? Minutes before the judgement bell rang? She had to report to the hall in that state or the punishment would have been far worse if she would have missed it am I wrong?!I snap, suddenly feeling the need to defend Tessa after having got to the bottom of why she looked how she did that day (despite not being happy with her right now but she doesn’t need to know about that)

With that, Seth clears his throat and shuffles in his chair and Margo is left speechless opening and closing her mouth like a fish out of water

Ohuhwell I don’t believe that none of the other ladies here would act that way! Not on my watch! She straightens herself up as I can’t help but scoff

Well you better believe it because that’s the truth on what happened. It actually sounds to me that it’s bullies you’re training in this centre opposed to pristine humans Margo.I wave a hand and state, my tone clipped and intended to be rude as her jaw gapes

She’s shocked? I can’t see whyfor being called out for the first time in her life

With respect sir, I’ll have this looked into right away because I do not want that to be true and if it is then rest assured that it will be dealt with properly! She states, as I refrain from rolling my eyes

at the promise

I didn’t like this woman, yet she was crucial in Anthony being approved to have a trial with Erin which was unfortunate. Until then, I’ll have to suck it up and smileor at least try to.

Anyway, how may I help you both today? Are we signing the document to keep Tessa permanently then? You also said you had an incident with Erin’s suitor is that right?Margo pulls out some paperwork, as she sorts through the files and finds notes about what she knows on Erin’s situation

Here we go then…
