Chapter 44
Tessa’s POV
The tension in the air was palpable as Anthony’s car pulled up to the entrance of the training center. I couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that hung over me like a dark cloud, knowing that Kane and Seth were still giving us the silent treatment and that time was quickly running out for us.
As we stepped out of the car and made our way inside the familiar grainy building for registration, I couldn’t help but dread seeing Miss Felicity again…
She hated us both!
Entering inside the center, as predicted, Miss Felicity stood from behind the ‘welcome‘ desk which wasn’t very welcoming at all as she greeted us both with a forced smile.
I could instantly sense the underlying tension in her demeanour: knowing that she wasn’t thrilled at all to have either of us back here with her.
“Where is your Alpha? Not here yet?” She questions, directing it straight at Anthony to be nosey as to why he had drove us both out here before the Alpha had arrived himself.
It was of course unusual for us to arrive back without the males in which we had left here with and she’s probably picking up that something has gone wrong…
“Problem with the jet, he’s staying back to oversee it being fixed and then he will be here shortly.” Anthony keeps his cool and I am thankful for him not bringing up the elephant in the room that myself and Erin had actually pissed them both off horrifically and that there was a fat chance they won’t even want to progress with either of us!
“Ah I see! Please sign the girls in and they can head off to their room then – I’m sure they’ve missed it.” Miss Felicity forces a laugh as my stomach churns at hearing the sound.
We certainly did not miss this place or her for that matter – that was for sure…
We stand and watch Anthony scan over the clipboard registers before highlighting myself and Erin
as being present and ‘returned‘ to the centre as though we were store bought goods.
This whole process was just so weird…

“Right, well off you both go. You find out what happens tomorrow at the choosing but until then you must stay in your room!” She shoos us both away like animals as we nod and turn on our heels – glad to get away from her and to have some privacy again away from Anthony.
As Erin and I made our way back to our shared room, the tension between us was deafening.
The weight of the day’s events hung heavy on our shoulders, and the uncertainty of what tomorrow would bring only added to the sense of unease – a sleep could help pass the time a little faster I
suppose, right?
As we reach the familiar apartment building which was only a short walk away from reception, we enter and begin to climb the numerous stairs that we again hadn’t missed since being away.
We reached our floor, before we finally turned the bend down our familiar corridor and approached
our room…
However, any thoughts of the future were quickly forgotten as we were met with a devastating sight which forced us both to halt in our steps – releasing a loud gasp.
The front door had been spray–painted over, the once pristine wood now marred with red graffiti
which wrote the abusive word ‘sluts‘.
We both stood winded, looking around the corridor to see if anyone was here to witness what we were both seeing but it was ghostly quiet, meaning that people would be out at class still!
Who would do this to us? When we were gone too? We couldn’t even bother anybody!
My heart sank as I realised that we had both been targeted yet again from the other mean girls in the school, but before I could even process what had happened, Erin pushed the door open with one hand (revealing that the lock had also been broken) and we were met with an even more disturbing
sight…
“What the fuck is this Tessa!” Erin gasps loudly, just as stunned as how I felt on the inside at the
scene before us.
The room had been broken into and trashed, the furniture overturned and belongings strewn about haphazardly. It was a scene of chaos, and I felt a surge of anger boil within me at the audacity of whoever had done this to us.

“What the hell was this for?” Erin continued and exclaimed, her voice tinged with disbelief and anger as our eyes danced around at the numerous masses of destruction that had been caused.
I shared her sentiment, my fists clenched at my sides as I surveyed the once before ‘home‘ which we
had both created together.
“It looks like we’ve g–got ourselves a problem, we will have to fix what we can for tonight… they’ve even destroyed and slashed the beds!” I muttered, my mind racing with possibilities as to who could
have done this and why.
There was a number of females that may have done this, maybe just out of spite that they hadn’t been chosen themselves on the first judgement day compared to myself and Erin (who were seen as the less pretty and put together) had been.
But this was extreme… even for them… did they not even fear being caught?
ར
But before I could even begin to form a plan of action, a sinking feeling settled in the pit of my
stomach.
As I surveyed the damage, my mind raced with a mixture of fear and anger. The realisation that someone had targeted us in such a malicious way filled me with a sense of vulnerability and I hadn’t felt this badly in the time that I had been gone from here – spending time with Kane.
I now felt more alone and abandoned than ever before… no longer having the large male by my side
for protection…
We were back here, back in hell!
This wasn’t just a prank or a harmless act of mischief; this was a deliberate attack on us and sense of security in our very own room!

Erin’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts, her words echoing my own disbelief and anger. “Who could have done something like this do you think?” she exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion.
I shook my head, my mind still reeling from the shock of it all. “I don’t know, it must have been the girls who didn’t get selected or they wouldn’t have had the time to even do this!” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. “But whoever it was, k–karma will come back to them Erin.” I state, sighing heavily and pushing back the tears.

Erin nodded in agreement, her expression determined. “We can’t let them get away with this
though,” she stated, her voice firm with resolve. “We have to find out who did this and make sure
they’re held accountable this time, it’s gone too far.

I hesitated, looking alarmed at the thought of confrontation. This wasn’t like Erin, but maybe this was her breaking point? Perhaps the girls at the school had finally pushed her over the edge with
this stunt.
I nodded slowly in agreement, a fire (yet small) igniting within me as I realised that we couldn’t let this slide. Whoever had targeted us needed to be stopped, and I was determined to do whatever it took to make sure they faced the consequences of their actions.
But as we began to clean up the mess and assess the damage, a sense of unease settled over me like a dark cloud. This was more than just a simple act of vandalism; this was a warning, a threat that we
couldn’t afford to ignore.
The girls around here were vicious and after my last encounter with them – I now feared the worst outcome if we were to see any of them again!
As we worked together to restore some semblance of order to our room, I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were being watched, that whoever had done this was still out there, lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike again – but I will put that down to our paranoia.
We fix what we can, restoring one of the bed frames and the other having to settle on the floor – which I offer to take considering that Leo had forced Erin to sleep on the floor one too many times recently and I wouldn’t make her do that again.
She doesn’t deserve that…
“What if they don’t choose us tomorrow? And this is how we have to live moving forward until we both get selected again?!” Erin panics suddenly, surveying our bomb site room.
“Nah don’t think like that! Miss Felicity will surely have to do something about this whether she likes us or not? It would look bad on her having two of her girls sleep in a room in this state, right?!” I shake my head, knowing what would be right in this scenario.
“You know just as well as I do Tess that Miss Felicity will avoid helping us whenever she can!” Erin comments, as I continue to just shake my head.

This wasn’t fair – it was never fair how we were both treated here, and for what? So that the girls
their horrendous pranks and abuse? Miss Felicity knew about how
could have some sick fun throup.
we were both treated and decided to do nothing about it.
She had her favourites here and always did, and it certainly was not myself or Erin that were in with
her crowd.
We continued to clean and organise, our silent determination driving us forward despite the
uncertainty of what lay ahead.
But even as we tried to push aside our fears and focus on the task at hand, the lingering feeling of unease remained, a constant reminder of the danger that lurked just beyond our door.
As the night wore on and exhaustion began to set in we finally collapsed onto the makeshift beds, the events of the day catching up to us in a wave of exhaustion.
But for now, all we could do was rest and prepare ourselves for whatever would happen to us both
tomorrow…
