Chapter 46
Tessa’s POV
As Erin and I hastily gathered our belongings and prepared to meet these mysterious suitors that Miss Felicity had arranged, a sense of apprehension settled over me like a heavy fog.
The events of the morning had left me reeling, and the prospect of facing these unknown men only added to my unease.
With a final glance around our trashed room, Erin and I followed Miss Felicity down the corridor,
down the steps and out of the apartment complex, our footsteps echoing in the silence of the
building.
The atmosphere was tense, as though the very walls themselves were holding their breath in
anticipation of what was to come.
As we reached the exit, the icy winds hit us first as Miss Felicity hurried us over and into a vehicle
with tinted windows.
This was all really weird…
We drove in silence for all of ten minutes until we reached a small building in the middle of the
surrounding woods which we had never been to or seen before.
What is this place?
I glance at Erin from beside me who also gives me a I don’t like this‘ look. This was sketchy; very
very sketchy and yet, there was no escape either.
The car rolled across the leaves before stopping beside the small building as we followed Miss
Felicity out of the vehicle – shuffling awkwardly towards the door.
Waiting for us inside were two large figures, their silhouettes looming ominously against the back wall. As they stepped forward into the single light hanging from the ceiling, my heart skipped a beat at the sight of them both as I clenched my jaw to prevent myself from gasping.
Both men were tall and imposing, their faces hardened by years of hardship and struggle. Deep scars crisscrossed all over their face and skin, a testament to the battles they had fought and the dangers

they had faced. Their eyes were cold and calculating sending a chill down my spine as they regarded us with undisguised disdain.
These were not the kind of suitors I had imagined… was a fool for imagining males even remotely
similar to Kane or Seth!
Miss Felicity, her usual confident demeanor faltering for the first time, quickly ushered us forward,
her voice strained as she introduced us to the men.
“Tessa, Erin, meet your new suitors,” she stated, her tone forced and uneasy. “This is Marcus and
Victor.” She rushed, as neither of them cracked a single ounce of emotion – just stared.
Marcus and Victor… the names sounded foreign on my tongue, sending a shiver of fear down my
spine. There was something about them, something dangerous and sinister that made my skin crawl.
As Miss Felicity began to speak, her words rushed and hurried, I couldn’t help but feel a sinking
sensation in the pit of my stomach.
Something was not right here, and I had a sinking feeling that we were being set up for something
awful…
Before I could voice my concerns, Miss Felicity was already handing us paperwork to sign, her eyes darting nervously to the door as though she feared being caught in the act.
“Just sign here, girls,” she urged, her voice strained. “We don’t have much time.” She nudged my arm, as I took the pen and quickly scribbled a name – not my own signature but something to please the
terrifying males standing beside us.
–
Erin and I exchanged a wary glance, but there was little we could do in the face of Miss Felicity’s insistence and the tension created by the two males.
As the paperwork was finalised, Miss Felicity wasted no time in ushering us away, her eyes darting furtively as though she feared being seen by anyone.
It was clear that she was breaking the rules, but to what end I couldn’t quite understand or say.
As we followed Marcus and Victor out in to the same car – the blonde one of the pair climbed into the driver side with his fellow male followed around in to the passenger.

Without having heard a single word from either of them, we left Miss Felicity behind and drove back on to the main road before we fully drove away from the training center, a sense of dread suddenly settling over me like a suffocating blanket.

I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at me, a sense of impending doom hanging over
us like a storm.
As we approached the airport, my heart sank at the sight of a sleek black jet waiting on the tarmac, its engines purring softly in the distance. The Russian flag emblazoned on the side sent a shiver

down my spine, filling me with a sense of foreboding.
I also spotted Kanes white jet parked only a short distance from it; which helped to sadden me more with the thought that I was about to put more distance between my chance at a happy future with
him…
“What is this?” Erin whispered, her voice barely audible over the rumble of the engine and her concern for our situation reaching my ears only.
Were these males Russian?! I had only ever read bad things about the way Russian males run things
in their own country…
I shook my head, unable to find the words to answer her. The situation was beyond anything I could

have imagined, and the sight of the jet only served to confirm my suspicions that we were in way
over our heads now!
As the car came to a stop beside the waiting jet, Marcus and Victor wasted no time in ushering us out of the vehicle and towards the waiting aircraft. The sound of the engines grew louder with each step we took, drowning out the pounding of my heart as fear gripped me like a vice.

It seemed that they were both in a rush to leave with the jet warmed up and ready to go the second
we had all climbed on board.
We didn’t even pack or bring much of our stuff… I thought to myself, thankful that we had each
other at the very least.
With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I realised that there was no turning back now.
Whatever fate awaited us on the other side of that jet, we were about to face it head–on, whether we
were ready or not.
As we all got on board, Marcus and Victor began to exchange terse words in Russian, confirming
their home language.
I couldn’t help but find their voices low and menacing, as Erin and I again exchanged a worried
glance for one another. We couldn’t understand what they were saying, but the tone of their
conversation sent a shiver down my spine alone.
The air crackled with tension as they continued to converse, their expressions growing increasingly
sinister with each passing moment. I strained to catch any semblance of understanding from their words, but it was like trying to grasp at smoke – elusive and insubstantial.
Before we could protest or ask what was happening, Marcus (who I think was the black haired one) grabbed Erin roughly by the arm, his grip like a vice as he forced her into one of the seats. I could see the fear in her eyes as she struggled against his hold, her voice rising in protest, but Marcus paid
her no mind.
With a swift motion, he fastened the seatbelt around her, pulling it tight until it dug into her skin. Erin winced in pain, but Marcus showed no mercy, his face a mask of cold indifference as he silenced
her protests.
I tried to intervene, to reason with Marcus and Victor, but before I could even speak, Victor (the

blonde) had grabbed me by the shoulders, his grip like iron as he pushed me down into the seat beside Erin. I could feel the panic rising within me as he fastened the seatbelt around me, his
movements swift and efficient.
“P–Please, it’s too t–tight!” I pleaded, my voice trembling with fear and desperation.

But my words fell on deaf ears as Marcus and Victor continued to work, their expressions unreadable as they secured us in our seats as much as possible with a sharp hush from one of them whenever
we would attempt to speak.

Now crying, I couldn’t hold my emotions back as the events from the whole morning finally came crashing down on me like a tsunami.
As the engines of the jet roared on, drowning out any further protests, I exchanged a helpless glance
with Erin.
Trapped in our seats and at the mercy of these two dangerous men, there was little we could do but brace ourselves for whatever lay ahead in the foreign location which we had assumed to be headed.
Our day had well and truly took a turn for the absolute worst, and my brain struggled to catch up
with it all.
Why couldn’t Kane and Seth just give us one last chance? Why couldn’t they fight for what we had?
It was all over…
