Chapter 47
Tessa’s POV
As the jet engines roared to life and the aircraft taxied down the runway, I couldn’t shake the feeling
of dread that settled like a lead weight in the pit of my stomach.
Trapped in my seat with the two new strangers Marcus and Victor seated not far behind us, I exchanged a worried glance with Erin, both of us feeling the tension in the air like a suffocating
poison waiting to take us out.
The Russian males wasted no time in making themselves comfortable, the sound of beer cans cracking open filling the cabin as they both talked loudly in their native language. Their voices were gruff and rough, sending a shiver down my spine as strained to catch any semblance of
understanding from their conversation.
Erin shifted uneasily from beside me, her eyes darting nervously to the two men behind us. I could see the fear reflected in her gaze, mirroring my own sense of apprehension and unease. The atmosphere in the cabin was thick with tension, the oppressive weight of uncertainty hanging heavy
in the air.
I tried to focus on anything other than the looming presence of Marcus and Victor, but their loud laughter and boisterous conversation made it impossible to concentrate. Every word they spoke sounded like a threat, their laughter like a sinister echo that reverberated through the entire cabin.
With each passing minute, my sense of unease grew a knot of fear tightening in my chest. I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were in danger, that Marcus and Victor were not to be trusted. But trapped in our seats with nowhere to escape to, there was little we could do but endure their presence and hope for the best when we land on the other side.
As the jet soared higher into the sky, carrying us further and further away from everything we had ever known, I couldn’t help but wonder what awaited us at our final destination. Whatever lay ahead, one thing was certain: our lives would never be the same again.

The thought of Kane would most definitely hurt my heart forever knowing that we once had a good thing that was now shattered and destroyed – leaving only happy memories to think back on.
A sad ending to our tragic story…

Despite the fact that we had both been prepared for this moment pretty much our whole lives – it
was still hard to cope with.
It definitely wasn’t uncommon for males to move on to the next female until they found the perfect one, so why did we both even begin to think that we would be different?
As far as Kane and Seth are aware, we were just silly humans who tried to screw them over at the festival (even though that wasn’t the case at all) I could see why they would want to think that.
The jets crackled on, and the sky changed from day to night as myself and Erin attempted to doze off a few times to pass the time – both too anxious to speak to one another or to fall into a full deep
slumber.
As the hours stretched on, the atmosphere inside the jet grew increasingly tense. Marcus and Victor showed no signs of slowing down their drinking or their loud conversation, their voices becoming more slurred and their laughter more raucous with each passing moment.
Erin and I exchanged worried glances, our anxiety mounting with each sip they took from their beers. The thought of being stuck in such close quarters with two unpredictable and possibly dangerous men both filled with alcohol made me dread our futures.
Unable to bear the tension any longer, I leaned closer to Erin, my voice barely above a whisper as I
spoke.
“D–Do you think we should try to talk to them? Maybe if we can establish some kind of rapport, they won’t see us as threats.” Erin nodded, her expression grave as she glanced back at Marcus and Victor.
“It’s worth a try,” she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
“But let’s be careful. We don’t know what either of them are capable of.” I remind, as Erin closes her eyes to perk up some courage.
With a shared sense of determination, Erin and I turned in our seats, mustering up all the courage we could find as we faced Marcus and Victor both still stuck in conversation in their own tongue.
“Um, e–excuse me,” I began tentatively, my voice trembling slightly. “We were just w–wondering… but where exactly are we headed?” I speak out like a trapped mouse, as both of them become silent – turning to stare through us both as though they were astounded to even hear us speak.

Marcus and Victor exchanged a knowing glance before Marcus let out a booming laugh, his breath
heavy with the scent of alcohol.
“Ah, the little birds are curious now, are they?” He replied in English with a thick accent, his voice
dominating and fierce. “You’ll find out soon enough, humans, if you haven’t already managed to guess. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.” He concludes, before clinking cans with his friend.
Erin and I exchanged a worried glance, unsure of what to make of Marcus’s cryptic response. It was clear that they had no intention of revealing their destination to us, and the uncertainty only served
to heighten our sense of unease.
We called it quits, surprisingly feeling more unsettled knowing that they both could speak English
now…
As the jet continued to soar through the night sky, Erin and I lapsed into a tense silence, the sound of Marcus and Victor’s drunken laughter ringing in our ears like a chilling refrain.
What was weird though, was that neither of them seemed to want to converse with us further – as though we were just here for decoration. They didn’t seem to care that they had just selected two females to take back to their home land…
As the hours dragged on, exhaustion began to creep in, but sleep remained elusive, chased away by the gnawing fear that gripped us both. Trapped in this metal tube hurtling through the darkness, with no idea of where we were headed or what awaited us on the other side, all we could do was cling to each other and hope for the best.
As the night wore on, the steady drone of the jet’s engines filled the cabin, drowning out any attempt at conversation. Marcus and Victor had fallen into a drunken stupor, their voices reduced to low murmurs as they slouched in their seats.
Despite their inebriation, their presence continued to loom large, casting a shadow of fear over Erin
and me.
The sense of isolation grew, as though we were adrift in a sea of uncertainty with no land in sight. Erin and I huddled together in our seats, seeking solace in each other’s company as we tried to make sense of our predicament.
But try as we might, there were no answers to be found, only more questions and fears.

Chapter 47
Where exactly were Marcus and Victor taking us and why?
Why had Miss Felicity betrayed us, handing us over to these dangerous strangers without so much as a word of explanation?
The more I thought about it, the more my anger simmered beneath the surface, a fierce
determination rising within me. We couldn’t afford to be passive victims in this situation; we had to find a way to take control of our fate before it was too late even if that means trying to form some sort of a positive relationship with these two.
–
But as I glanced over at Marcus and Victor, their forms shrouded in the dim light of the cabin, a cold
chill ran down my spine. They may have been drunk and seemingly unaware of our presence, but
there was a dangerous edge to them that I couldn’t ignore – different to how I felt around Kane that
was for certain.
With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I realized that we were well and truly alone in this
fight.
There would be no one coming to rescue us, no knight in shining armor to swoop in and save the
day.
It was up to Erin and me to find a way out of this nightmare, to reclaim our freedom and forge our own path forward. But with each passing mile that separated us from everything we had ever known,
the odds seemed more insurmountable than ever.
As the first light of dawn began to peek over the horizon, casting a soft glow over the cabin, I knew that we were running out of time. Whatever awaited us at our destination, we had to be ready to face it head–on, armed with nothing but our wits and determination.
“It’s going to be ok Erin!” I whisper, seeing her tired and sunken eyes.
She had already been through enough with Leo, finding hope with Seth for it to only be taken
away… it’s not fair.
As the jet continued its journey through the endless expanse of the sky, I closed my eyes and whispered a silent prayer, hoping against hope that somewhere out there, a glimmer of hope still
remained.
I was unsure if whether or not this was another trial period, but by the ways Miss Felicity had acted

back there it all seemed far too sketchy to only be temporary.
Why did she want us gone so fast?
What was the motif?

Perhaps these men paid good money and we are her least liked girls so it makes sense for her to ship
us off the first chance she can get…
I just wish we could have attended the choosing ceremony to see Kane and Seth one last time,
maybe to change their minds?
It was too late for all of that… and with a single tear slipping down my check – I allowed myself to
rest.
