Chapter 54
Tessa’s POV
As we were herded in to a room by a number of terrifying males, they seemed to top by a door which the females filed in through.
“Wash.” Sasha turns to tell us, before a guard reaches forward and smacks her on the back of the head – almost sending her forward on to the floor.
She seems to recover well, shaking the incident off as myself and Erin stand astonished by the scene. We scurry in to the room behind her – finding rows of
showers.
“You wash, dry, and then change in to the clothes there!” Sasha points to the cabinets as myself and Erin nod along as best we can – watching the other females strip off and find a space without shame.
I wish it wasn’t so open like this…
The only person who has come close to seeing me that naked was Kane…
Oh how I missed him…
“Not long – be quick!” Sasha motions us to hurry, having already stripped herself off – as she walks off to turn on the water.
She seems to wince under the droplets, indicating that it was cold at first, which caused me to dread the experience already.
The room was already freezing without the water having to also be cold… it was madness!
We obliged anyway, taking off our clothes and placing them in the baskets like the rest of the females before shuffling in to two free shower spots – covering what we could of ourselves with our arms.
We cringed under the water and quickly moved to use the available soaps, making the most of the wash before rushing to grab one of the scratchy towels which were folded in the corner.
Sasha rejoined us, also wrapped in a towel and shivering – whilst she gestured for us to follow her to get clean clothes.
I’m guessing the same dull lilac shirt and trousers that the others wore?
I was right, watching Sasha pull out two sets, with thick grey socks, white underwear and a crop style sport bra for underneath – before handing them over to us and motioning for us to put them on.
We rushed to dress, not enjoying being exposed to the rest of the females like this (despite everyone also being naked). I was grateful for the thick socks the most, enjoying the slight heat they gave to my feet since we hadn’t felt warmth since exiting the plane last night!
“You go back out, back to room, then the males come for a view at four!” Sasha explains to us, leaning closely to explain, as her English comes out broken and we try our best to understand her through the thick accent.
“A view? What is that?” Erin whispers, trying to figure it out as I was glad to have her here with me (being the better talker of us both).
“They look to see who they like… the leaders…” Sasha states, as the last few females begin to dress and we know we don’t have much longer until we have
to head out.
I was at least grateful for the privacy we were granted by eating and washing without the males watching us… that would have been truly horrific!
“What happens if they like you? They choose you as a mate?” Erin asks, as Sasha pulls a face and laughs a little at how gullible we both come across not

knowing anything about this land yet.
“No mates here! Leaders and important males make the females pregnant to repopulation!” Sasha speaks each word carefully with a nod, as our eyes grow like saucers at what we were hearing.
Woah…
“So they j–just… have sex with lots of females?” I can’t help but ask, and with a hal nod from Sasha my heart shatters.
So we have no hope of even finding a match remotely similar to what we had with Kane or Seth? That dream was over…
We were here for one purpose only, to be used for breeding.
Before we can ask anything else, a buzzer sounds again, and Sasha hurries us out of the room – making it into line again as we fall in to silence.
As we were led back to our cells, 1 exchanged a silent nod with Erin, a silent vow passing between us to hold our emotions together.
After a lot of walking, we picked up on the process. They would walk us down each corridor and if we made it to your cell you would go in until everyone in
the line was back.
Luckily, I had remembered the number forty six on our door when we had first arrived yesterday – quickly stepping towards it with Erin nervously following
my lead when I did.
The guard moved to open it, shoving me gently to hurry up and get in, before slamming and locking once again – leaving us in the cold dark room we had
started in.
As the heavy metal door slammed shut behind us, Erin and I were left standing in the dimly lit cell, the echoes of the day’s events still ringing in our ears. The reality of our situation hit me like a ton of bricks, and I felt a surge of despair wash over me as I realized the true extent of our predicament.
“So this is it,” Erin murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as she sank down onto the hard narrow mat against the wall. “Trapped in some godforsaken
compound in the middle of Russia, with no hope of escape.”

I joined her on the makeshift bed, the weight of our circumstances pressing down on me like a leaden blanket.
“It’s m–much worse than we thought,” I agreed, my voice hollow with resignation. We’re nothing more than breeding stock to them, disposable for their own twisted agenda! Imagine not even having the time to get to know the female that you plan on impregnating!” I throw my hands up in disbelief.
“Right?! It goes against everything our country stands for… I know we might have complained about some things back home, but it was nothing like this!” Erin sniffles, with tears gathering in her eyes.
“This isn’t our faults Erin! There was nothing we could have done to stop this from happening – it was Miss Felicity who wanted us gone! She did this!” I rant, enjoying the privacy with my friend to recollect our thoughts and share our feelings on the matter.
Without Erin here I would have crumbled by now completely… she was truly keeping me afloat!
“She’s such a fucking bitch! Why was she always so cruel?!” Erin complains loudly, as I hush her a little in fear of being heard by a guard from outside of
the door.
We had been thrust into a nightmare beyond our wildest imaginings, and there was no telling what horrors lay ahead.
“We’ll find a way out of this,” I vowed, reaching out to grasp Erin’s hand in mine. There has to be a way out of this… it can’t get much worse from here…” 1 breathe, not believing my own words as I attempt to pick up Erin’s faith nonetheless.
Erin squeezed my hand tightly, her eyes shining with unshed tears but her resolve unwavering. “Together,‘ she echoed, her voice steady with determination.

‘We’ll get through this together, Tessa. I promise.”
“Do you think that… Kane and Seth even gave us a second thought before they went back home… how could they give up so easily?!” I sigh, leaning backwards and sharing my recurring thoughts as they bullied their way in to my mind every so often.
I tried not to cry every time I thought of Kane, but my heart would crack each and every time providing a lingering ache in my chest.
“If we are lucky, they will regret it and come for us…” Erin wipes a tear as it falls from her eye, as I close mine and hold myself together.
“I… d–don’t think they will Erin… why would anybody come all the way to Russia for two humans…” I speak my truth on Kane and Seth, knowing that hanging on to the memory of them would only hurt us both more in the long run
That chapter was over, closed for good…
“We can only hope…” Erin states in a breath, as we hug one another tightly in comfort.
Now, we just have to wait for what’s going to happen to us both next – praying that no matter what it is, that we don’t get separated!
“What did the girl say? There was a view thing at four?” Erin pulls back and wipes her face with her hands.
“Yeah… we will probably meet the Alpha and the other higher ranks I think… let’s j–just try to blend in!” from whatever the view could entail.
