“I saw you photographed with that stupid fanged slut, Anastasia Polucci shouts as soon as she spots us.
She pulls her phone out of her back pocket and shows it to me as if it were proof of my infidelity. I look up Kagrar, who presses his lips together and puts his hands up in surrender to let me know this one is on me. I look down at the picture an see that someone took it of me giving Aurora my number. I think Ana would love Aurora.
“I’m making friends. You should be happy because now all the evil shit she cooks up will be run by me, and guess who I get to tell?” I counter. She looks between Ragnar and me and instantly becomes apologetic.
“As long as that’s all it is. I don’t even want to share you with Kennedy. I’m glad she’s stuck in the city,” she huffs and tucks th phone back into her pocket.
I take a step back to get a better look at her. She likes that and smiles as she does a little slow turn. I was wrong. I can feel he the same exact way I did the first time I used this without simply targeting the water. Maybe it’s because I used my own. Whatever the case, I’m still very present in her aura.
“Are you ready?” Ragnar asks her.
“Yes,” she grins and looks down at me.

“That can put a target on her,” Ragnar shakes his head.
‘Yeah, and my brother and his team can catch any of them if they get too close. You know Santi. Nothing gets past those reflexes,” she crosses her arms over her chest. “I give you permission to channel me until we get this right. How do we do this? Do you spit on me?”
‘Out of line,” Ragnar growls at her. She laughs, but I know she’s dead serious about that.

sure?” I ask her.
‘One hundred percent. If it’s too much for me to handle, this shit can carry me,” she points at Ragnar.
‘I got it,” he agrees. I take a deep breath and nod.
‘I don’t have to give you anything. You already have my essence inside of you.”
‘Oh,” she says, sarcastically and turns to look at Ragnar. “I already have her inside of me.”
‘You do,” he smirks. “Congradulations. She can kill you whenever she pleases, and in just a moment, you will know how far she needs to be to get to your ass.”
The smile on her face vanishes, and she turns to look at me.
“I would never, but he’s right.”

“I’ll call you later,” I say politely. “Thank you for coming all this way.”
“I’m not too far. I’m banging your old bodyguard. She’s fiesty,” she smirks and spins away to leave. She disappears, running toward my grandmother’s home.
“Good for Eli, I guess,” I shrug.
Once we get back to the castle, I once again think about how it should be impossible for our yards to be as dose as they are, but I know I’m just going to drive myself crazy overthinking it. On our coffee table, Ragnar has a bunch of darts perfectly lined up and ready to be sealed off.
“Spit,” he says and lifts up one of the trays.
I groan, but I sit down beside him as he pulls up a bunch of cool files on water affinity and shadow wolves. Particularly, the ones who can turn into whatever they want. As I leave a little spit in each dart, I wonder how many of their wolves will be hi with this. Once he starts sealing them off, I sit back and reach out for as many as I can. I don’t spin them too fast, so I don’t break them. I find it fairly easy to spin them all at once.
“I love where you head is at,” he says, looking over at me.
“You’re a bad influence on me,” I accuse him.
“Thank you,” he smirks. “Hey,” he says, placing his hand on my thigh. “They have the Alpha King and the Rogue King We find this, and we can prevent an even bigger war from breaking out. They’ll owe us big time.”
“Just because these things are in their place right now doesn’t mean that they aren’t responsible for everything that’s happened. I know you read Ana’s complete report, too. James said this went back decades. The rest of you are only starting to notice now that they’ve gotten bolder.
“Unless we can prove that these things have been usurping them for the last sixty years, I think we should keep them contained. At least, until everything is settled and their names are cleared. We have an opportunity here. I don’t think he
