Despite the four–hour drive, my body is still trembling from the rejection. I can barely move. My body is completely wore and even breathing feels like it’s taking its toll. Ivar wanted me to get checked out by one of the doctors, but Ejust wanted get the hell out of there. I’ve been slipping in and out of consciousness since he carried me to the car.
“Get Doctor Emelia to the Major General’s villa. I have a newly rejected werewolf class omega with me, and she doesn’t seem to be responsive. Yes, she’s alive. Just exhausted,” I hear Ivar say quietly. Td like her to be there when I arrive. I’m six minutes
My body shakes when I try to sit up, but I can’t. I want to tell him I’m fine, but I don’t think I am. I didn’t know it was going to hurt me this much since I don’t have a wolf. I can only imagine the agony his wolf is in. I don’t think he’ll go feral over this. I shouldn’t care.
“Are we almost there!” I ask. My voice cracks.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” he asks, softly. I try to smile when I turn my head enough to look at him. “Don’t overdo it. Your body is still in shock. I’ve asked the doctors at court to be ready for us when we arrive.
“Thank you, Ivar. For everything.” I clear my throat.
“Don’t mention it. I’m sorry I couldn’t do more for you,” he sigh
“You did more than enough, I admit
When the car comes to a halt, he’s opening the door before I can try to sit up. He pulls me out of the car as gently as he can. It’s dark, so I can’t really see much, but I do know that my grandmother’s villa is huge. She’s invited me here several times, but I’ve declined each time.
It often felt like she was only inviting me out of courtesy. Being here is not going to end well for either of us, especially now that someone has made her aware of her actions. Ivar takes me up to a room and settles me into a bed. He stays by my side as lycans surround me.
A light shines in my eyes, my pulse is taken, someone takes some blood, and with that same needle, I am hooked up to an IV. I don’t know what they put in the pouch, but the pain gradually begins to fade, and I feel weightless.
I shut my eyes for a moment, and when I open them, I’m back home. I sit up, alarmed because this is the last place I want to be in. I jump when the door is pushed open, and my mother storms in with a tray in her hands. She sets it down on my breakfast table and pulls the curtains to my room open. She turn around, placing her hands on her hips, and turns to face
“You should be up and showered already, young lady, she scoldne. She comes over to me and yanks the covers off. “Go on and please, wear something presentable. The princes are coming to stay with us for the next couple of months. Grandma Zaraphine is coming with them.”
“She doesn’t even like us. Why are you letting them stay?” I roll off the bed and start making my way to the bathroom
“Sophie,” she stops me. “Zara is different than us. She takes my land and crouches down in front of me. “I know she can be cold, but she loves us. All of us. She comes from a more aggressie type of shitter. And it’s not like she’s going to be here forever. It’s just a little while. Keep your head down and listen to chat she says She’s a very important person”
“So are you,” I remind her, and it doesn’t stop Grandma from despecting her every time she gets the chance.
“Don’t tell her that. She might have a coniption and explode slitcases
I laugh and head into the bathroom. When I’m done, she’s finished making my bed and has picked up the mess I had on the floor. I go over to my breakfast and sit at my window overlooki the from gate

My brothers barge into my room and sit with me as we watch our dad and some of his guards greet the cars We’re not allowed to go out there until the guards are settled. The princes are not allowed to leave their vehicles until the house is cleared.
Gavin and Oliver are talking about the type of cars outside as I continue to eat my breakfast. My mom comes back and brushes my hair before dividing it into two space buns. She kisses my cheek and reminds me to hold my tongue. I reluctantly nod and follow them out after taking one last piece of fruit.

The four of us stand at the top of the stairs as Lycan guards moy through our house, checking all the rooms. When they are finished, they walk out. My dad comes into the house and waves is forward. We all go down to him and stand with him as some of the main guards escort my grandmother in.
The way she gives orders is almost the same as Luna Romano, but where the Luna is gentle, Grandma Zaraphine is not. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile before. She’s always dressed the best, though, and she’s super smart.
“Baldr,” she greets my father.
“Mother,” he bows his head to her and steps forward to hug her,
“Boys,” she ruffles Gavin’s hair and then moves on to Oliver.

She looks at me very briefly, then up at my mother. She gives usa tight–lipped head bow before turning around to reveall the princes. I roll my eyes and turn around to head back up to my room.
“Sophia,” my mother tries to stop me. “Your grandmother is here Be-”
“I’ll be in my room. She didn’t even say hi to us. I don’t need to be here to see her be mean to you,” I shoot back loud enough for everyone to hear me.
“Let her go,” my father says, and I head up to my room. I glance back to see one of the princes looking up at me. I roll my eyes at him, and it only makes him smile.
The sound of someone’s voice brings me back. I open my eyes to see Ivar pacing with his phone against his ear. He’s talking rapidly, so I can’t really understand him, but I know he’s agitated I open my mouth and instantly regret it. My mouth is dry. and I feel very heavy.
“Sophie,” he says worriedly.
“Hey,”
“Don’t sit up. The doctor said you shouldn’t be moving around for the next couple of days. Your body is very delicate, right.
“Yeah, yeah,” he says and turns around.
I look around, but I can’t see much. The canopy is covered in beutiful shades of blue silk. It smells of Lavender and vanilla. When Ivar hands me a glass, tears slip from my eyes because of me wants to go back. He conches down in front of

“I had a nightmare,” I explain, taking a sip. At least, I tried to take sip, but I ended up drinking the whole glass at once.
“Do you want to talk about it?” he asks.

“Are you still in pain?”
“Not physical,” I admit. “But I doubt it’s going to fade any time soon.”
