When Kade said those words, tears suddenly burst out.
I didn’t know why, I was even surprised by the tears and it overwhelmed me. I cried loudly and ugly, snot coming from my
nose.
Kade went still, his eyes wide and he pulled away from me, drawing me into his arms.
“W–what is it?” he asked, his voice shaking. “Do you hate it that much? I’m sorry, I won’t bring it up again. I’m sorry. Belladonna. I didn’t mean to ruin the moment. I just felt… The moment was just… And the words came out before I could even think. So don’t cry-”
His rambling and stuttering were so cute that I couldn’t help but laugh in between tears.
“Oh. Kade,” I said as I held his face, blinking my tears away. He just stared at me, looking unsure of what to do with himself. “You know, I’ve done a lot of research. After that day, and you left, I had to know. What you were, how a man could turn into a wolf, and I found out that you are something called a werewolf.”
When I paused for a while, he raised an eyebrow, demanding I continue.
So I did.
“The internet wasn’t really helpful. It was full of bullshit, so I read fictional books about werewolves, and that is where i learned a lot of things. That was when I finally understood what that rut really is, and how painful it can be.” I caressed his face softly and he leaned into the touch, rubbing his cheek on my palm, and my chest tightened. “That is where I learned what a mate to a werewolf is.” My throat closed and I felt the incoming tears, but I fought them back. Damn tears won’t take this from me. “So… so the reason I was crying was because I know mating with you is a really, really big deal. Why will you want me to be your mate?”
He stared at me like I just uttered the most outrageous thing. “Because I love you? Because I want to spend the rest of my life with you? Because there’s no other woman for me? Because I want us to have so much more than just a normal relationship Because I want-”
“Yes, yes. Okay,” I laughed. “You don’t have to say everything like a question. I get it.”
His face was serious as he said, “Good, because I don’t want to hear you ask that question again, and with a tone like that”
“What tone?” I asked softly.
“Like you think you don’t deserve to be my mate.” He picked my hand gently, raised it to his lips, and pressed a soft kiss to it. “I’m the one honored, Belladonna. Mating with such a wonderful woman like you would be a great honor.”
I looked away from him, trying to take my hand away. “You’re just saying that.”
He held my hand even tighter, grabbing the back of my neck and slamming his lips on mine. He kissed me hard, his tongue thrusting into my mouth and sucking mine hard. He broke the kiss when we were both breathless and panting.
He rested his forehead on mine, looking into my eyes as he said, “Grant me this honor, Belladonna.”
“Of course I will,” I answered without hesitation. “I’ll be a fool not to. And I’m also honored, Kade. Thank you.”
This time, I was the one who kissed him so he wouldn’t say some rubbish like, “Don’t thank me.”
He pushed me gently until I was lying on the bed, getting on top of nie and our lips inoved slowly against each other

Kade followed me right off the edge. finally taking his teeth off my neck, but he buried his face there as he groaned and grunted, his body shaking as he came.
