Chapter 19 Good Luck
Chapter 19 Good Luck
“Sebastian, you were beaten in my dream. I wanted to help, but there was little I could do. Sebastian, tell me. What should I do to help you and protect you?”
Eliza wept, covering her face with her hands. When Sebastian was picked on, she was much sadder than him.
She treasured him so much. How could he blame her for anything?
If Vivienne hadn’t attacked her, she wouldn’t have risked her own reputation to fight back.
Was she supposed to suffer in silence? That wasn’t right.
Sebastian pressed Eliza’s head against his chest and promised, “I’ll take more care to protect you. No harm will come to you again.”
However, he wasn’t sincere.
When he spoke, all he could think of was Vivienne’s eyes full of hatred.
Annoyance beyond words filled his chest.

At 8 that night, Jonathan called Sebastian. “Why has Vivienne been so quiet on the Internet?”
Sebastian said sullenly, “It’s water under the bridge. Don’t mention it again.”
[onathan couldn’t believe his ears. “It’s over? Just like that? No wonder she bossed you around for six years. You’re too soft.”
Sebastian paid no heed to his words. He was thinking about Vivienne’s outfit.
Her clothes looked fancy. They must’ve cost a fortune. Where did she get the money?
‘Did Celina financially help Vivienne?” Sebastian asked.
Jonathan answered firmly, “No way. She can’t spend a penny without me knowing it.”
This was odd to Sebastian.
Vivienne had married him upon graduation. All their property was purchased after they got married. When she moved out, she took nothing with her, not even her clothes or purses.
Plus, unemployed, she had no income now.
There were only seven or eight chip companies throughout the country. Sebastian had warned them all. By hiring Vivienne, they were simply making enemies with Corelynx Technologies.
Could she have joined an overseas company? Vivienne gave up that idea when he proposed to her six years ago. It was more

impossible now that they had Lucy.
If Vivienne wanted to work in her field, she could only crawl back to him.
It had been six days. According to his arrangements, Vivienne should be living in a sorry state now.
However, the truth was, instead of being miserable, she wore fabulous clothes and didn’t look unnerved or troubled at all.
Where did it go wrong?
Jonathan’s cry broke Sebastian’s train of thought.
‘Sebastian! Vivienne has released posts… Shit! How did this happen?”
Sebastian found Vivienne’s account. She’d just released three updates in a row.
One: What kind of brother and sister is this?
Images from the surveillance camera footage in Rose Manor were attached.
In one picture, Sebastian was reading while Eliza was on his back. In another, he came out of the bathroom. Eliza took his arm and went to his room with him.
[wo: An original video of the fight in the study.
Three: A five-minute audio recording.
It turned out Vivienne called the police that day to make Eliza admit she’d edited the video.
[ust then, Eliza called Sebastian. Her voice sounded hoarse and panicky.
‘Sebastian, Vivienne tricked us both. She twisted the fact. She’s gonna destroy us!”
Vivienne was gonna destroy them?
Sebastian squeezed his phone with his cold fingers.
Vivienne had been naive.
On the other hand.
Vivienne was watching her account closely.
Sebastian had reacted quicker than she’d expected.
The platform sent her a notification within ten minutes.
It said, “Your posts violate the law, the regulations, and the code of conduct. They’re bad values and won’t be promoted again.”

This was exactly what Vivienne had anticipated.
In front of power, commoners were like vehicles without oil. Whatever their determination to strive, the powerful ones could thwart them easily.
Vivienne felt like smoking, but there was a “no smoking” sign in the room.
So, she went downstairs and sat in the fountain square.
She bit hard on the cigarette, as if she were gonna snap someone’s neck.
Just then, a neat pair of white trainers appeared before her.,
She raised her stooping head and squinted her dejected eyes at the person..
Frederick sat beside her.
Vivienne removed the cigarette from her lips, turned her head, blew out a mouthful of smoke, and stubbed out the cigarette.
She enjoyed smoking alone in a quiet place.
Another person’s presence would spoil the pleasure of numbness.
“Dr. Kingsley, what brings you here?”
Frederick said calmly, “Hattie wasn’t home. I have a few friends in Northgale. So, I came to see you.”
He looked at her, joy plain in his eyes. “I have good luck.”
Vivienne wanted to give a polite smile, but she couldn’t force one.
“Dr. Kingsley, you shouldn’t have come to me. I’m a jinx.”
She bowed her head slightly, her shoulders stooping, her eyes moist. She was trying to hold back her tears.
Frederick could see it.
How he wished to kill Sebastian right there, right then!
He said gently, “Good luck backfires, sometimes. So, I wanna share my good luck with you.”
He laid his right hand on her shoulder.
It looked like he was comforting her. Also, he seemed to be transmitting his good luck to her.
His palm was hot.
A touch of irresistible warmth spread from her shoulder across her body, seemingly to burn all the negative cells in her system.

Frederick withdrew his hand and declared mysteriously, “You’ll have good luck soon.”
Vivienne was amused by his childish behavior.
Smiling, she turned her head to look at the lights in the buildings in the distance.
Frederick observed her. “Did you look at Crownvale Estates’ houses?”
Vivienne shook her head.
She had to pay Mr. K back eventually. Now, she didn’t know what he was up to yet. She had spent too much of his money. Crownvale Estates would have to wait.
‘A realtor has been helping me find a place.”
Frederick understood. She felt uncomfortable spending someone else’s money.
He must do something about it.
Half an hour later, he told her he needed to drive back.
Vivienne looked at the pitch-black sky. She was worried that Frederick would get lost.
His daughter had said he didn’t even know how to use the navigation.
Frederick knew what she was thinking. The look in his eyes grew even softer.
‘Don’t worry. I’ve memorized the route to you.”
Vivienne feigned composure. But deep down, something was surging.
she ignored the emotion showing up unbidden and turned around.
Frederick called her and tossed something to her.
Vivienne caught it with one hand.
It was a persimmon-shaped golden bell.
‘Shake it, and something good will happen,” he said.
Before going to sleep, Vivienne picked up the golden bell solemnly.
She even bowed to it. “Please! Please make my dream come true.”
Then, she shook it hard several times.
With trembling fingers, she tapped on the app.
