Chapter 24 Frederick Cooked in Vivienne’s Kitchen

Harriett ran over and hugged Vivienne’s leg.

Vivienne looked down at Harriett, and her sense of loss turned into joy.

Harriett was always very close to her.

Vivienne felt it was strange. She didn’t like children, but she really liked Harriett and even wanted to get closer to her.

Frederick looked at Vivienne for a moment, then asked, “Have you already moved here?”

Vivienne looked at Frederick, her expression not as friendly as when she was talking to Harriett.

“So, Dr. Kingsley, you live here too?”

“Yeah, I live here, and I’m familiar with this neighborhood. That’s why I recommended it to you.”

Frederick’s answer was perfect.

Vivienne felt a bit uneasy before. She felt she was led by Frederick. But hearing this, she felt it made sense.

Harriett understood their conversation and raised her head to ask Vivienne, “Vivienne, will you live here too?”

Vivienne patted Harriett’s head, and her voice suddenly softened.

‘Yes, I live in Building 3.”

‘Wow, we also live in Building 3! Our home is on the top floor. Which floor do you live on?”

Vivienne was surprised. “I live on the floor right below yours.”

How could it be so coincidental? Vivienne looked at Frederick again.

Frederick slowly said, “I’m renting it too. And your house was introduced by the realtor, not by me. I just suggested you live in

Crownvale Estates.”

It sounded like he had nothing to do with the coincidence.

Vivienne recalled the realtor’s words.

“Miss, only Building 3 in Crownvale Estates is available for rent. To be honest, not many people rent the house here. Currently, only the top-floor unit is rented. After all, it’s too expensive. A year’s rent could buy a small house in the suburbs.”

“You live downstairs! Can I visit your house and play with you?”

Harriett looked at Vivienne expectantly.

place now.”

Harriett cheered happily, running ahead.

Vivienne and Frederick followed behind on the same pace.

Frederick said, “Only Hattie and I live in Building 3. It’s too quiet. I’m happy you moved here.”

Vivienne replied with a smile, “I can live here because my money came easily. Dr. Kingsley, you’re different from me.”

Frederick laughed, “There’s no difference. My money didn’t come from hard work either.”

Vivienne was puzzled. “Aren’t you refusing to accept gifts or bribes?”

Frederick coughed and said awkwardly, “Well…I get money from my parents.”

Vivienne was speechless.

She thought she was quite articulate, but now she didn’t know how to respond.

She said in an embarrassed tone, “Dr. Kingsley, you’re really honest.”

Vivienne turned off the smart lock’s facial recognition system and only activated the fingerprint and password.

She invited Harriett and Frederick to come in, but the two stood at the door for a while.

Vivienne noticed and said, “There are no slippers at home, just come in.

“Haven’t you eaten yet? Would you like to have Paella?” Vivienne said.

She checked the ingredients delivered by the property manager and was stunned.

The shrimps, chicken, and vegetables were all fresh, but they were not pre-washed and pre-cut.

Seeing Vivienne staring at the ingredients in confusion, Frederick thought she was adorable.

He smiled and said, “Next time, be sure to tell them to wash the meat, cut it, and marinate it in advance.”

Vivienne nodded in agreement. “Let’s go out for dinner this time.”

She admitted that she was a kitchen novice and couldn’t even cut vegetables properly.

She learned to make rose cupcakes because she lost a bet with her father.

“Let’s eat at home,” Frederick said, rolling up his sleeves.

“I’ll cook it. You go get rice prepared.”

Chapter 24 Frederick Cooked in Vivienne’s Kitchen

Vivienne felt that everything that happened today was unexpected.

She and Frederick didn’t know each other for long, but Frederick could even cook in her kitchen now.

Vivienne found a bag of rice in the cupboard. She then walked to the sink with the rice but stopped before the next action.

She didn’t know how much rice was needed for three people, so she asked Frederick for advice.

“Is this enough?”

Frederick glanced and said, “Too much.”

She poured out some, and Frederick said it was too little.

She added a bit more, and it was just right.

After she got the rice ready, Frederick asked her to help him with the next step.

Following his words, Vivienne started to heat olive oil in a large skillet.

Then she tried to stir in garlic and pepper flakes but only made everything into a mess.

Frederick gave up, smiling gently and helplessly. “Okay, you go out and watch TV with Hattie.”

Vivienne agreed, finally escaping from the kitchen.

she could perfectly manage the intricate transistors, but she couldn’t manage Paella.

Cooking was really difficult. Vivienne decided to pay more to hire a private chef later.

During dinner, Vivienne wanted to drink some wine she had opened.

Frederick advised, “Don’t drink it. I’m afraid you’ll get drunk again and…”

‘And what?”

Vivienne noticed Frederick’s face was a bit red.

His glasses were fogged up from the heat, obscuring his emotions.

After a moment, Frederick said “nothing” and continued eating.

Vivienne only had one glass of wine, and her mind was still clear.

After dinner, Harriett chatted with Vivienne while Frederick washed the dishes.

Harriett gave the camera to Harriett Harriett has

“Vivienne, you’re so great! Being your child must be very happy.”

Vivienne thought of Lucinda, feeling a bit sad.

She touched Harriett’s face and said, “Not every child is as considerate as you, Hattie.”

Frederick washed his hands and came out of the kitchen.

Harriett proudly showed off, “Dad, Vivienne gave me a camera.”

Vivienne thought Frederick would refuse, but she didn’t expect him to say, “This gift is great! Hattie, you can open it now and read the instruction manual first.”

“Okay.”

Harriett held the camera and sat on the carpet, playing with it.

She preferred sitting on the floor instead of the couch.

Vivienne looked at Harriett. Surprisingly, they had similar bad habits…

Frederick sat across from Vivienne and said, “It seems that Hattie really likes it, thank you.”

“You’re welcome. You have one gift too.”

Frederick was pleasantly surprised. “Me? Really?”
