They grabbed my arms. Fury rose from my heart as the healing power within me surged, transforming into a shockwave that knocked back the werewolves around me. I broke free from their grip and glared at them with sharp eyes.
But they didn’t retreat. Instead, they spat at me while cursing obscenely, then closed in on me again.
I gritted my teeth and tried my best to protect myself. But there were too many of them. They laughed and played with me, using me for their entertainment. Some had even started trying to tear off my clothes.
Marcus saw my condition and froze for a moment, then quickly walked over and said in a low voice, “Didn’t you leave? It’s the child’s birthday today. I want to make up for all these years I’ve missed. I let Serena invite her friends to celebrate the child’s birthday. I’m sure someone as understanding as you would get it.”
I said coldly, “This is my house. You don’t deserve to use it however you want. Didn’t I tell you all to get out?”
Marcus frowned, clearly dissatisfied with my response.
All their friends surrounded me, talking over each other: “Marcus, this homewrecker has some nerve showing up here. Kick her out and stand up for Serena.”
Marcus didn’t move.
But Serena looked at Marcus expectantly.
“Just go,” he said to me.
I said bitterly, “Why should I leave? In what capacity should I leave? As the homewrecker? Tell me, am I a homewrecker or not?!” Someone nearby spat at me. “Marcus already has an omega and a child. What else would you be but a homewrecker?”
I looked at Marcus with anguish, stubbornly asking, “Am I a homewrecker?”
He said quietly, “No.”
Immediately everyone exploded, all defending Serena.
Marcus pointed at me. “You’re all misunderstanding. She and I are just ordinary friends. She’s not a homewrecker. I barely know her.”
I was so angry at this absurd scene that I laughed. “Barely know me? Marcus, if you barely know me, why are you holding your child’s birthday party in my house without my permission?”
Someone kicked me. “What do you mean your house? This is obviously Marcus and Serena’s house.”
“You’re just an ordinary friend trying to destroy a mated couple’s relationship. Are you delusional?”
“This kind of promiscuous person is a disgrace to all werewolves.”
Everyone around me cursed at me without restraint.
I pulled out my phone and called the enforcement squad.
But Marcus snatched the phone away and hung up.
He said grimly, “Aria, can you wait until after today to cause trouble? Today is the child’s birthday after all. After today, you can do whatever you want.”
“Your child’s birthday has nothing to do with me.”
I was about to say more when a familiar voice said, “Aria, listen to auntie. Making a big scene today won’t do you any good
either.”
I turned around and looked at the person in disbelief.
It was Marcus’s mother.
Every time she saw me before, she would fuss over me warmly, treating me better than her own daughter.
She had repeatedly warned Marcus never to wrong me, or she would be the first to object. Seeing the situation now, she must have known about and approved of Marcus and Serena’s relationship all along.
She pulled me into the study.
