Chapter 3
When I woke up, I was wearing a revealing lingerie outfit.
My whole body ached. I stumbled out of bed but found the door was locked.
“Open up! Open up!” I shouted for ages, but no one paid attention.
I felt around my phone had been taken too.
Who could have kidnapped me?
Could it be enemies of my father from the streets?
I hugged my knees in the corner, my mind racing through recent events.
Or could it be Liam, holding a grudge about the breakup and wanting revenge?
Just as I was brainstorming, the door suddenly opened.
The sound of high heels approached. I looked up and my pupils contracted.
It was Alex Morgan!
She was now wearing an evening gown, having dropped the casual act she put on around Liam, her
face full of seductive charm.
She looked down at me with amusement. “Quinn, I’ll definitely find you a good buyer tonight.”
What was this crazy woman talking about?
I tried to speak, but Alex sealed my mouth with tape.
Soon, she put a bunny mask on me and dragged me out, tied up. “You’re more important than I thought–Liam actually brought you to this kind of auction, basically handing over his company’s secrets to you. You know this isn’t any ordinary auction house, right? This is underground boss Richard Moon’s territory. Here, if you have money, you can buy anything you want–including women.”
Her fingers traced my face, then gripped my neck tightly.
In the suffocation, something suddenly occurred to me.
Richard Moon?

Wasn’t that my father’s territory?
My breathing became more rapid, the air through my nose growing thin.
Alex’s triumphant voice continued ringing in my ears. “Don’t worry. Once you’re on that auction stage, even Liam won’t be able to save you. I want to see if Liam will still want you after you’ve been used up!”
She suddenly released her grip, admiring the red marks on my neck.
I mumbled incoherently, wanting to say something but helpless as Alex hauled me to the auction house like dead weight.
“This is item number 3. Thanks for your help.”
In public, Alex resumed her refined lady act, handing me over to the auction house staff.
My eyes widened when I realized this was Leo Carter, who often stayed by my father’s side!
Uncle Leo! Save me!
I twisted around, trying to rub the mask off my face.
The man glanced at me and frowned at Alex. “Is this woman here voluntarily? You should know our
rules.”
Alex laughed awkwardly and stuffed a thick red envelope into Leo’s hands. “Everyone knows Richard Moon adores his daughter and can’t stand to see women suffer. Don’t worry, this woman is desperate–her family needs money for medical bills, and she begged me to get her a good price!”
Leo didn’t take Alex’s envelope and didn’t pay attention to me anymore, just counted down the
time. “Alright, go in.”
I watched helplessly as Alex swayed her hips into the auction hall and plopped down on Liam’s lap.
Their conversation drifted to my ears, so ironic.
“Still can’t reach Quinn?”
Liam shook his head, his hands wandering over Alex’s body. “Why can’t she understand my good intentions? Her family background is too ordinary. My mom agreeing to let her into our family as a second wife is already a blessing. I’m destined to marry into a prominent family.”
His words hit me like thunder.
