I felt nervous as soon as we entered the building where the Raiden Car Shop was located. And it looks like Mikea noticed that which is why she decided to roam around the building before we went straight to her boss‘ office.
And to be honest, the amusement that I am feeling while learning about the whole company is overwhelming my
nervousness.
I just learned that this company is giving full benefits to its employees, especially when it comes to health benefits. They also have entertainment facilities that only the employee can use, but of course, only when they are off duty.
Aside from that, they are giving free meals, from breakfast up to midnight snacks to everyone which only a few companies have implemented. And the salary is great.
That is why I am not surprised to know that there are a lot of people who want to be part of this great company.
Even those people that were assigned to the production area also have the privilege to use the facility in the building.
“This place is such an ideal workplace for everyone,” I said while we were walking toward Mikea’s boss. “If only I’m still working under a company, I will do everything just to be part of this one.”
“Raiden rarely hires new employees, that is why whenever they launch a hiring event, a lot of people are participating in an attempt to be part of this company,” she said. “When I applied here, I had to compete with hundreds of applicants just to become the second secretary of my boss.”
My eyes widened. “What?”
She nodded. “And most of the people that also apply to that position have great resumes. They came from a famous college and they have more experience in this position than they got from a big company.”
“Really?” Then, her boss is not someone who will hire based on a college degree and company experience. “Then, why did he choose you? Did you already ask him that?”
She nodded again. “He said that he had three reasons why he chose me. First is because he never sees me as someone who has an interest in him so we will be able to focus on our job, rather than me flirting with him.”
“Oh.” That is not unexpected since she already told me so many times that his boss is drop–dead gorgeous so a lot of women applied here just to seduce him.
“The second is because, for some reason, he is comfortable around me,” she added. “Like, he didn’t need to pretend to be nice or he can show me what he feels because will not take advantage of him or not judge him. You know, something like that.”
Well, being the leader of one successful company is not that easy.
They are not allowed to show everyone, especially their employees, what they feel because a lot of people can use that against them.
They cannot become nice because people might take advange of them and sometimes, it is also the reason why employees are carried away and lose their respect for their oss.
They cannot also become so strict because they might get complaints from the National Labor Department.
So, most of them do not socialize with their employees to avoid a situation like that.
“And third, he is impressed when I blurted out what I know about the parts and engines of the cars that his company sells,” she said. “That is why even though I don’t have a higher degree like the others and don’t have experience being a secretary for a company owner, he still chooses ine.”

“From what I heard from you, I am sure that your boss is a nice person,” I said. “And I guess I am lucky because I will be able to meet him personally and not just in your stores.”
“Yeah, my boss is such a nice person. I am sure that you will like him,” she added. “Look at our situation. If he is just another company boss, I am sure that he will just fire me and find a permanent replacement.”
And I am sure that man can do that. But he chose not to because he knows Mikea’s capability so they made this agreement.
“And we are here.”
And I feel nervous again all of a sudden when we reached the door of her boss‘ office.
I even met Art, the primary secretary of their boss, and told us that he is already inside the office, waiting for us.
“Calm down, Milan,” Mikea said as she laughed. “My boss will not eat you, okay? Not unless you want him to eat you.”
I glared at her but she just laughed even louder as she teased me.
“I am not interested in anyone even if they are drop dead gorgeous!”
“I know,” she smirked. “You still haven’t moved on to your ex–husband that is why you never gave a chance to those men that tried to court you.”
I didn’t say anything and just rolled my eyes.
“Anyway, let’s go.,” she said. “Boss is already waiting for us.” She clung to my shoulder and pulled me inside the office.
The room is not really that big. That is why when we entered the office, we immediately saw her boss on the other side of the room. Sitting in his swivel chair and facing a lot of papers that he needs to sign.
“Boss! We are already here,” Mikea shouted and immediately stood beside her boss. “My friend who will become my temporary replacement is also here with me.”
I gulped as I kept trying to calm myself. It has been a while since I faced someone with a higher position so I am not sure how to behave here.
I immediately bowed my head before that man turned his eyes to me. “It is nice to finally meet the owner of Raiden Car Shop, one of the best car dealers in the whole country.” I slowly lifted my head to finally see the face of the man that will become my boss for three months.
And my eyes widened as I set my eyes on him.
He was also shocked when he saw me but there were no words that came from our mouths as we stared at each
other.
“She is my friend, boss,” Mikea said. “And she is also my neighbor. She is also the one that I was with when we accidentally met at the night market. She was also at the hospital when you visited.”
