“Milan!” Dashiel came to me and hugged me tight. “I can’t believe that I will be able to see you here!”
I smiled slightly but to be honest, I am uncomfortable in this situation.
I am not close to any friends of Enver when we are still together. I socialized with them when they visited our house but other than that, we never had a chance to bond.
But this man is the kind of person who will act as if we are ose even though we are not. And he tends to hug me whenever we meet.
“It has been a long time, huh,” He let go of the hug. “The last time I heard about you is that you left Enver.”
“Yeah,” I answered. “Have a seat.” It looks like he will be saying here and wants to talk to me about everything so I will just let him ask anything he wants. “Do you have someone with you?”
He shook his head and sat in the vacant chair in front of me “I am alone today.”
“Oh, great.” I gave the tablet to him. “It looks like we will be staying here for a long time so order some for you. My treat.”
Well, after knowing things about Enver today, I feel like I should at least do something to appreciate him for not leaving the father of my daughter.
“Okay, thanks.” He tapped a couple of foods and put the tablet on the side of the table. Then, he looked at me.” How are you?”
“As you can see,” I said. “Same old Milan. Nothing changed for the past five years. And you?” Iginala ko ang tingin sa paligid. “It looks like you don’t have some girls that always follow you around.”
“If things haven’t changed on you, it is the opposite in mine,” he said. “A lot of things changed for me and I am now a good boy.”
I raised my eyebrows at him. “Really?”
He nodded and held his chest. “Well, that’s because I fell.”
I frowned. “Huh?”
He laughed and shook his head. “I mean, I fell in love.”
My eyes widened when I heard that. “W–what?”
He just smiled and scratched his head as he nodded.
“Are you serious about what you are saying?” I asked again
He can’t blame me for why I keep asking and doesn’t believe him because I know him very well as a playboy. He is someone who changes a girl in his life fast like how he changes his clothes.
Aside from his handsome face, he is also a rich guy even when we are still in college because he started building his business that early. So many women are dying to be wit him even though it was just for a few moments.
“It is true,” he insisted. “It might not look like it but I still have a heart.”

always thinks that I am only teasing her even though I kept making an effort just for her to notice me.”
“Ah,” I nodded. “Maybe she is your karma for all the women who cry because of you when we are still in college,”
We stopped talking for a while because our food was beingerved at our table. And when everything was already settled, we started eating while continuing our conversation.
“So, enough with me,” he said. “Have you already met Enver?”
I was stunned when I heard Enver’s name again but I made sure that he would not notice that because I know that after this unexpected meeting, he will tell Enver that we had lunch together.
“Yeah,” I answered. “We just met earlier at his office.”
“Really?” he said. “How did you get into his office?”
“Long story short, one of his secretaries is my friend and she needs an indefinite leave. That is why they need to find someone who will replace her for a while.” I pointed at myself. “And I am that substitute. And for three months, I will be the secretary of your friend.”
“Oh shit!” I was shocked when he suddenly cussed. That is why I looked at him and saw that he was also in shock. “Seriously? You are friends with Mikea Reese?”
I nodded. “You know here?”
“I know her!” he firmly said. “She is the one that I like!”
I frowned when his voice suddenly raised because of his excitement.
He even caught the attention of other customers for a while but they choose to ignore him and just continue what they are doing.
“Can you please lower your voice?” I rolled my eyes. He has not changed at all. “I can’t believe that the unfortunate woman was Mikea.”
He nodded. “What a coincidence. Fate really knows how to play, huh?” He smirked as he looked straight at me.. You did everything just to make sure that Enver will never be able to find you for those five years. But because of one unexpected incident, all your efforts become wasted and it was you who came to him.”
I didn’t say anything because what he said was right.
I did everything to make sure that we will never see each other again. I never even set foot outside the subdivision and I put the responsibility of buying everything I need to my helper to limit my interaction with other people.
But even though I put more effort into it, fate will still make a way for us to meet again.
“So, what are your plans?” he asked. “I know about the agreement that Enver has together with Mikea. I was the one who suggested that idea that will assure favor for both of them.”
Iglared at him. “So, you are fate’s compliance!”
He laughed. “Well, I didn’t mean anything to involve you in this, Milan. I didn’t even know that you were connected to Mikea when I thought of it that way. I just wared to help my friend and the woman that I like.”
I sighed and stabbed the stake in front of me using the fork hat I hold
I am aware of that but I still can’t help but feel this frustration. Maybe because if he didn’t think of that idea, Enver and I will never meet again.
But I also thought that if he did not think of that, I am sure that Mikea will choose to resign from her job.

I sighed again and calmed myself. It is not right to heap my frustration on him. He was just thinking about the people close to him.
Just like what I did that actually put me in this situation.
“Anyway, things are already happening and I can’t change so I will just leave it as it is,” I said. “And it looks like your friend has already moved on from me so I think we will be able to work with each other without making our past become a problem for the both of us.”
“Oh.” He nodded. “Really?”
“Yeah,” I answered but I made sure that he would not see my eyes because, to be honest, I am still not sure about

I am still processing my thoughts and feelings after seeing the man that I once loved again.
“Then, I assume that these past five years, you are only staying at Mabuhay Subdivision where Mikea also lives?”
I nodded.
“Damn!” he silently cussed. “I wish I had visited Mikea before in her house. In that case, we probably met sooner than this. And with that, Enver probably found you.”
This time, I looked at him again. “You are a good friend of Enver, huh.”
“Well, that is the only thing that I can be proud of,” he said. “Despite all the bad things that people see in me, I can still be a good friend.”
I smiled.
It is good to know that despite everything that happened in Enver’s life, he had someone like this man who stayed beside him.
“At least, let me thank you for being his good friend.”
