We have been busy with the launch of the project and everyone at Raiden is busy with their work since Enver wanted it all done before the day of the launch.
And that also includes me.
I was in–charged of getting all the papers we needed for the launch since we are doing it in a public venue. Though, I manage to get those permits the easy way at the town and city municipal hall.
I accidentally met Castiel at the town municipal hall where she was doing some interviews that she is going to feature in her magazine. And she take advantage of that chance to use her connection so that I could get the permit as soon as possible.
So, I came back to the venue before lunch and everyone was still busy preparing.
And it looks like they all forgot to take their lunch break because none of them ordered their food which they manage to do for the past few days.
I saw Art arrive and I immediately come to him. “Where did you go?”
“There are some problems with the delivery that Anox will supply to us.” He was out of breath when he said that so I gave him some water that he drink fast. Then he took a deep breath and looked at me. “And with this issue in our hands, Boss personally went there to take care of it so that the car we need will get delivered tonight.”
“Did Anox know about it?”
He nodded. “I already called there and it looks like they also got shocked to learn that. And they just told me that they will send their representatives to the warehouse to help Boss solve the problem.”
“Then, the problem is at the warehouse processing?”
He nodded again. “It is the courier that will deliver the cars here,” he said. “They insisted that the cars still haven’t inspected the product which is why they refused to take it out of the warehouse and deliver it here.”
I clenched my teeth as I heard all of that.
I guess this is what Lancelot and Adze’s warning was after the agreement was sealed.
And to be honest, I have this feeling that it is not just a coincidence. Someone is trying to sabotage the launching day of our project and they are starting with the failure of delivering the product.
Everything is already in order. We already invite a lot of people to facilitate the event and there is also a television coverage that I prepared so our newest project will reach the end of our country.
And the cars need to be delivered here, today. That is the star of this project.
The competitors are aware of that and they are using it against us. That is why I need to do something about it.
But…
I turned to the venue of our event. The design does still not finish and I am sure, it will take time for it to get finished if I leave them here.
“Girl…” Art patted my shoulder which made me look at him “You can leave this to me. Boss needed you the most instead of me,” he said. “And those people will rather listed to me than you. So, let’s just go to the place where we needed the most.”
“Are you sure?” I asked.
I mean, most of Raiden’s employee doesn’t like him. They said that he is too bossy and he is taking advantage of

his position as their boss‘ secretary. And if he keeps doing that, our colleague will surely hate him even more.
“Of course,” he said. “They can hate me all they want but I will make sure that everything will be done today.”
Well, I guess I can leave this to him since he has a point.
We should be where we are most useful and in this case, I need to stay beside Enver.
These people will not obey me and Art doesn’t have anything to offer to solve the problem at Anox’s warehouse. So, we can just switch our place.
I grabbed my bag and immediately run outside the venue. I was about to call for a taxi when a black car stopped in front of me and I saw Lucien, the head strategist of Raiden who drove the car.
“Hey, Milan,” he greeted me. “Need a ride?”
We already talked a lot in the past few days since I need to explain to him every detail of my idea regarding the deal. And I am comfortable around him so I didn’t hesitate to open the car’s door and sat in the passenger seat.
“Let’s go to Anox’s warehouse,” I said. “Boss needs my help.”
“Okay,” he said and start driving his car.
While we are on our way to the warehouse, I started calling all the people I know who can help us with the problem that has been happening at the warehouse.
I know that it is not nice of me to just call them suddenly after being not in contact for almost five years so I can understand their sentiments but we are in an emergency.
It might not be easy to convince them but I have to do everything I can since they are the only ones that can help us in this situation.
In the end, they still decided to help me so I sent them the address of the warehouse.
“I didn’t expect that you have that kind of connection,” Lucien said while driving. “Are you also came from a rich family like Boss?”
I shook my head. “I am just an ordinary person who worked hard in the past to get that kind of connection.”
And it is not easy. I experienced a lot of hell before I could meet those people who help me when I was just starting to be a secretary and building my connections.
“Oh.” He nodded. “I am sorry about asking that. People at the office are saying that you have a connection with the executives of investors of Raiden which is why you became Boss‘ secretary without taking the normal process.
Other than Art, no one knows about the agreement that Enver, Mikea, and I had. And all of the people at the office only knew that Mikea was on leave and didn’t say if she was going to come back.
We didn’t say anything because we are sure that people will only assume that Enver keeps giving Mikea a favor even though she was just new to the company.
And Art is also the only one who knows that Mikea and I are friends which is why a lot of people are confused about my sudden arrival.
“I am just temporary in this position,” I said. “I only got hired because Sir Enver needed additional help for this project. After this, I will be gone from this company.
“So, part–time only, huh?”
I nodded. “I just need some funds for myself and Sir Enver geeds some help for the project,” I said, “Our objectives are aligned so we are helping each other.”

“So, you are connected with the boss himself?”
I slowly turned my eyes away from him and I am glad that he didn’t notice that because he was too focused on the driveway. “Well, you could say that.”
“Personal relationship?”
My eyes widened and I was forced to look at him again. “No” I exclaimed. “We only have professional relationships.”
Well, we do have a personal relationship but that was only before. We are no longer husband and wife since we are already divorced.
He is now just my boss and I am just a simple secretary. No more… No less…
“Well, If you say so,” he said and I can sense in his voice that he did not believe me.
But I didn’t point that out because he might think that I am too defensive with this topic. He can just think whatever he wants but I already told him the truth.
I am just the secretary of my ex–husband.
