“He messed up?” Ferry was shocked to hear that news from me.
After the inspection of the city customs earlier at the warehouse of Anoz, Adze arrived and ordered the release of the products that needed to be delivered to the venue. Even though the rules said that it should be delivered twenty–four hours after the inspection.
But he took care of the negotiation and they made an agreement which is why we managed to take those products and secured their delivery.
After that, Enver ordered me to go home and rest. Art can take care of other things that need to be done.
I didn’t refuse that offer since I have been taking care of a lot of papers earlier at different locations. My feet are getting sore and I think I need to rest for the whole night so I have full energy for tomorrow’s event.
Millie doesn’t want to eat without me so I had to cook some dinner for us as soon as I arrived at my house. And while doing that, I decided to call Ferry and Castiel to tell them what happened earlier.
“Yeah.” We are on video call right now since it is more convenient while I was cooking our dinner. “It was a super messed up situation. If I didn’t manage to convince Rew to give us some of his time for the inspection, I am sure that all of our efforts for tomorrow’s event will get to waste.”
“That is very unlikely to him,” Castiel said. “He always did a very good job in the past three years of Raiden’s success.”
“Well, maybe he got a lot of help from Dashiel,” I said. “I already investigated all the transactions they had in the past and to be honest, most of their customers were only recommended by Dashiel himself.”
Their eyes widened. “What?”
I nodded. “There are a lot of things going on at Raiden and Enver couldn’t even notice any of that because his trust in the people around him is too much. It is blinding him to what is happening.”
“So, you are saying that people working there were hindering Raiden from reaching its success?” Ferry asked.
I nodded again. “Raiden is successful, I know that. It can support itself from bankruptcy without relying on anyone. It doesn’t have any debt and their income is stable to the point that they can maintain all the benefits they have for their employees.”
“And that is all of it, right?” Ferry said. “That is all they can do. They can’t make any more than that.”
“I think it is one of the reasons why Raiden only has three stores even though it is famous around the country, I added. “They don’t have additional funds to make additional branches without taking it out on the personal money of their investors.”
“What about the people around him?” Castiel asked. “You said he trusts people way more than he should. What do you mean by that?”
“Executives and investors are all genuinely helping Raiden to stay on track,” I explained. “But most people under them… the employees of Raiden are related to the competitors of the company and they infiltrated it to watch its progress.”

Since Raiden doesn’t get enough customers on its oven, its competitors don’t treat them like a threat. But ty still watch their progress because they all knue the people behind its executives and investors.
They don’t care about Enver, they watch over people like Dashiel

“So?” They raised their eyebrows at me. “Are you going to help Raiden to solve those kinds of problems? Do you plan on helping it gather more influence and make it more successful without relying too much on Dashiel’s influence?”
1 shrugged my shoulders and put a dish in front of Millie who was silently listening to our conversation. “I want to know every detail first before deciding how much help I should be giving to Raiden.”
I am only staying at Raiden for a very short time. And if I think about its current state, I am not sure if it has the capability of maintaining the idea that I will give to them. And I am also not sure if they can protect Raiden’s success once I leave.
“Mommy,” Millie called me. “Are you talking about my father?”
The three of us were shocked by her sudden question.
“W–what makes you…”
She smiled and looked at me. “I know his name, Mommy. I also know his face because I saw a picture of him in your cabinet.”
Castiel and Ferry glared at me as if they wanted to take some explanation from me but before they could even say anything, I immediately ended our call. I also turned off my phone’s mobile data so I wouldn’t receive any of their calls and chats because I know that they will not stop unless I say something.
After that, I turned my eyes to Millie. “I told you not to touch anything from my cabinet, right?”
“It is not my fault, Mommy,” she said. “I just saw it on the floor when you were looking for something last month. I think you didn’t know that it fell and you didn’t notice it so I picked it up and took it back inside your cabinet.”
I messed my hair up upon hearing that.
There are a lot of coincidental events that have been happening around me. And I guess it is fate that put me in this situation.
“So, his name is Enver and because of MIkea, you are now his secretary,” she said. “Does he know about me?” I couldn’t answer her question immediately.
This is the first time we had a chance to talk about her father. And this is also the first time she asked about him.
I sighed and shook my head. “I am sorry, baby. He didn’t know anything about you,” I said. “I was not aware that I had you inside my belly when I left our house and I haven’t had a chance to tell that to him before.”

I didn’t hesitate and nodded. “You both have the right to know each other but I hope you understand that I still can’t introduce you to each other for now.”
She looked at me with confused eyes. “Why?”
I held her cheeks and caressed them. “Your father’s parents… They don’t like me for your father. And I am sure that if they learned about you, they will not hesitate to take you away from me.”
Her face showed fear as she got down from her chair and hugged me tight. “No! I don’t want that, Mommy! I want to stay beside you!”
“I also don’t want that to happen, baby.” I hugged her back. “You are the only reason why I manage to get up after what happened to me in the past. That is why I will not let them take you away from me.”
But I know that it will be easy for them to defeat me if they just use their connection and money. And in our world that was being controlled by those things, a person like me who only owned an eatery in a small subdivision will never win against them.
That is why as much as possible, I want to hide her from the people who were connected in my past. Especially to the people who were connected to Enver and his family.
“I promise to you, Mommy,” Millie lifted her face to look at me. “I will stay with you forever. Even though you introduce me to Daddy.”
“You will choose me over him?”
She nodded. “You are my mommy.”
I smiled and kissed her forehead. “Thank you, baby.”
I feel bad putting her into this kind of situation but what choice do I have? I can only do this to make sure that she will never be taken by those people.
They can meet her when she is old enough to make her own decision.
But for now, I will become selfish and take her all for myself. I still have that right because I am her mother.
