Enver Andrius‘ Pov
Mikea asked for an emergency leave for the rest of the day because she got a call from the hospital where her mother was admitted.
I don’t know the whole story since I didn’t pry on that and just let her leave early.
But I didn’t expect that as soon as she left, Dashiel arrived at my office and he was getting on my nerves because he didn’t have a chance to see her.
“Why, Eh?” he asked. He is holding his chest as if he was hurt. “Why did you let her leave without even waiting for me?”
I shook my head.
This one is dramatic.
“You should at least tell me.”
“She got a call from the hospital,” I said.
That made him stop his drama and immediately sat in the vacant chair. “What happened?”
“I don’t know the details but it looks like her mother got a Heart attack,” I said. “It might be complicated because she was crying while asking for emergency leave. So I think she might also not be here until tomorrow.”
“But you will need her for the rest of the week, right?” he said. “She will be the one who will help you draft the proposal for your meeting with Lancelot.”
“Yeah,” I sighed. “That is what I am thinking right now. Having her help with the proposal is a huge advantage for me since she knew a lot of things about the cars that were manufactured at Anox.”
Mikea loves cars. But she is not the type who loves it because she wants to ride it. She loves it because she wants to repair something like that.
And I heard her telling that to Art, my other secretary. So I chose her to help me prepare my proposal for the meeting that I will have with the owner of Anox.
But I think what happened today will affect that project.
I do know cars but not enough like Mikea has.
“Why don’t we go and visit her mother?” Dashiel suggested “I mean, I wanted to meet her family but not in this kind of situation. But you also need to know the situation because it might affect your current project, right?”
“Yeah,” I answered. “But would it be rude to suddenly show up there?”
He smiled. “Don’t worry about that. I will handle it.”
Before I could say anything, he immediately get out of my office and I saw him talking to Art. After some time, he went back and faced me.
“Art was also planning to go to the hospital,” he said. “Wean come along with him after office hours. Are you going with us?”
I turned to the mountains of folders that Mikea put on my ble earlier. But after a while, I looked again at Dashiel and nodded. “Yeah, sure.”
“Okay,” he said. “We will inform Mikea so she will not be shocked when she sees us at the hospital.”

I just nodded at him and let him go.
And I continue signing all the papers that I need to sign so don’t have much work to do later at home.

“The doctor said that my mother needs to be admitted here so they will be able to observe her further,” Mikea said when we got out of her mother’s room.
I visited Michelle here at the hospital as soon as I heard that she was already transferred to the private room and Mikea was the one who accompanied her.
“The heart attack that happened to her was too severe so they still can’t decide if they will do a surgery or they will advise us for a heart transplant,” she added.
“If that is the case, then she will stay here longer than you expect,” I said. “Who will accompany her here? You all have work to do, right?”
Aside from her father who was still working, she has three brothers who also work in another state and a sister who is still in school.
“That is what we were talking about earlier,” she said. “We decided to try asking for indefinite leave but I am sure that Dad and my brothers will not be able to get that permission. They already spent all of their leave last time at my parents‘ birthday.‘
“What about you?”
She shook her head. “I have been in that company for only a few months so I still don’t have leave,” she said. ” Besides, I am working on a big project with my boss right now so I am not sure if he will let me get a leave.”
From what I know, they can’t also ask their relatives because most of them are already living outside the country. Some who are still in the country are living in the province and are also busy with their life.
“I was thinking of resigning from my job.”
My eyes widened. “What?”
“That is the only choice I have,” she said. “My brothers have been in their company for years so they become an important part of that. And I am only in Raiden for just a few months. My boss will surely get another replacement for me in just no time. And Michaella cannot skip her classes because she is already graduating.”
“But you love your job so much,” I said. “Don’t waste the opportunity that you got.”
Her family was not happy when she resigned from the factory before but she just accepted all the words that they say to her because she likes the job that is related to cars.
That is what she loves.
That is why she pursued her application at Raiden Car Shop so she could get experience and more knowledge since she also wanted to build her car shop.
And she might do that in just a matter of time because the salary that her boss gives to her is much higher than what she expects.
But if she chooses to resign, I guess she will also have to give up her dream.
I held her hand. “Don’t decide without thinking it through, I said. “Talk to your boss. You said that he is nice, right? Maybe you can think of another solution so you won lose your job.”

She was not only thinking about her mother’s condition. I am sure she is also thinking about her dream that she might not be able to reach because of the situation right now.
I sighed.
I wanted to help her but I don’t know how. Even though I volunteer to accompany Michelle, I am sure that she will not like that because her mother doesn’t also like me. She also thinks that I am only befriending Mikea because of
their status in life.
Though, I don’t mind that because of Mikea.
I just hope that Mikea’s boss will become super nice and they will be able to find some ways to settle this situation.
