Susan was still sobbing, demanding to know if Kelvin had truly fallen for me.
He silently finished one cigarette after another.
Finally, his voice was hoarse as he spoke, “You were the one who wanted to mess with her. If I didn’t play my part well, how was I supposed to win Natasha’s trust?”
But Susan wasn’t buying it.
“I almost had her just now–why did you have to butt in?”
Of course, it was because he cared.
Men are hardwired to crave curves, legs, and bodies; Susan was the perfect embodiment of physical desire.
Just lust, nothing more.
But with me, Kelvin’s feelings had shifted–he felt sorrow, tenderness, and a deep ache.
He’d picked up my shattered pieces one by one from the wreckage and chaos and painstakingly put me back together.
After all that effort, how could he bear to break me again?
Even as Susan hurled curses at him, Kelvin absentmindedly wiped the corner of his mouth–my lipstick was still there.
That unconscious gesture cut Susan to the bone.
She leapt down from the windowsill and slapped Kelvin hard across the face.
Then, standing on tiptoe, she grabbed him and kissed him fiercely
Their lips and tongues tangled, the wet sounds echoing in the air.
This was what Kelvin had once dreamed of
But when he snapped out of it, he hesitated, stepping back
A thun strand of saliva stretched between them, glistening before it broke

Chapter 6
Susan went completely off the rails, clawing at her own clothes.
I’d timed it perfectly–just then, I led the rest of the class onto the balcony.

My towel slipped from my hand, hitting the floor. My face was wounded, my voice trembling.
“What are you guys doing?”
Susan, both resentful and triumphant, clung to Kelvin and laid all her cards on the table.
“Natasha, it’s time to wake up from your little dream.”
She turned to Kelvin, brimming with confidence.
“I want you to end this game right now and take back every cent you spent on Natasha.”
I saw through her.
She was determined to humiliate me in front of everyone, one last time.
Seeing the crowd frozen in shock, Susan basked in her victory.
“I bet you all didn’t know–Kelvin never really wanted Natasha. It was just a bet between us.
“Natasha was nothing but a wager. Who knew she’d bite the bait for a little cash? Isn’t she pathetic?”
Susan grew more and more agitated, ignoring Kelvin’s stiff expression.
She even whipped out her phone and started livestreaming, putting me on public trial.
“Take a look, everyone! Here’s the shameless homewrecker.
“Natasha, now it’s your turn to feel what it’s like to be thrown away.
“You and your trashy mom–you’ll always be the ones betrayed and abandoned.”
My heart raced–not from humiliation, but because she’d finally taken the bait.
So I gently stoked the flames. “But my mom was the real wife.
Her face twisted, and she spat out the words, unable to hold back. “So what? If your mom couldn’t keep her man, that’s her own damn fault. She deserved it! She deserved to die!
“My mom was your dad’s true love! And I’m Kelvin’s true love!”

Chapter 6
I said nothing more, just watched her quietly.
Sure enough, the crowd erupted, murmuring and gossiping.
“So Susan’s actually a love child? I always thought she was some rich princess.”
“Nowadays, the mistress’s daughter ends up better off than the legitimate one.
“Guess Natasha’s mom just wasn’t good enough–couldn’t keep her husband in line.”
Susan had never talked about her family before, always playing the innocent sweetheart.
But now, in her desperation to ruin me, she’d thrown everything away.
Seeing me silent, she grew even more brazen and smug.

“Your mom really is pathetic. If I were her and my husband cheated, I’d just jump off a building and end it all. Why keep living as a laughingstock?”
The wolf had finally revealed itself.
There was nothing left for me to say.
