After much consideration, the moment Mukesh landed, he found a local tattoo parlor.
Showing the artist a design I had sent him five years ago, he told the tattooist:
“I’m in a hurry. No anesthetic.”
Seven hours later, Mukesh walked out of the tattoo shop wearing a blood–stained white shirt.
He bought gifts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and nine hundred and ninety–nine pure white roses.
Despite not having slept for nearly forty–eight hours, Mukesh tirelessly drove himself to a vineyard estate on the
outskirts of London.
On the highway, he nervously yet excitedly rehearsed his perfectly designed apology in his mind, over and over
again.
Yet no matter how many scenarios he imagined, his first words to me would always be that heartfelt:
“Camelia, I’ve missed you so much.”
Finally, Mukesh found me in this foreign country.
But the flowers in his hand dropped suddenly at his first glimpse of me-
In the setting sun, I was being held in the arms of a tall, handsome man.
With a contented smile on my face–one he’d never seen before–I was playfully exchanging sweet and tart fresh
grapes with this man.
Mukesh couldn’t say “I’ve missed you.”
Instead, he just stood there dumbfounded and asked:
“Who is he?”
Feeling me stiffen slightly, Elijah Blake silently tightened his embrace around me.
“You must be Mukesh Willibert? I’ve seen your wedding photos with Camelia. Huh, you’re even more unattractive
in person.”
Seeing how Elijah had made me relax again, even laughing behind my hand,

Mukesh felt as if someone had punched him twice in the chest, his fists clenching until his nails cut into his palms.
“Since you’ve come such a long way, I’ll politely introduce myself. I’m Elijah Blake, Camelia’s…”
“Elijah Blake? Now I remember.
You’re the son of that driver the Aditi family adopted.
The ungrateful ‘big brother‘ who was kicked out by Camelia’s grandmother for stealing.”
Raising an eyebrow indifferently, Elijah wasn’t easily provoked by Mukesh’s words.
But I frowned protectively:
“Mukesh, Elijah isn’t anything like what you’re saying. And why are you here anyway? Trespassing on private property without permission is illegal.”
Hearing that I was trying to make him leave, Mukesh’s expression darkened considerably. He completely forgot he’d come to win me back, not to argue:
“Camelia, I’ve personally come all this way to find you. Please stop this childish tantrum and come home with me.”
“Home?”
I looked at Mukesh as if he were insane.
I asked him:
“Did you hit your head in a car accident? We’re divorced. Didn’t you see the signed divorce papers I sent?”
While the chance of lost mail was small, it wasn’t impossible.
Just as I was considering printing another copy of the divorce agreement, I heard him arrogantly declare:
“I tore that ridiculous divorce agreement to shreds.
Camelia, I know why you’re upset. I’ve dealt with Elowen. I can promise you she’ll never bother you again.”
Mukesh urgently stepped toward me, raising his hand to touch the face he’d been dreaming about day and night.
But before he could touch me, I pushed him away.
My tone was flat:
“Mr. Willibert, when the Aditi family fell on hard times, only the Willibert family offered help.

During these nine years of marriage, I’ve been constantly trying to repay that debt.
Now that Elowen is carrying your child, the Willibert family fitially has an heir.
I sincerely wish the three of you eternal happiness.”
At this point, as intelligent as Mukesh was, he couldn’t miss that I was determined to leave him.
In that moment, he completely lost his composure.
