Clara refused to sit down, her eyes fixed on him with a fierce glare. Michael might act decisively and ruthlessly, but he would not toy with someone’s life!
Her frustration at being unable to confront him only fueled Howard’s amusement. “Those two? The father left his wife and son to marry another woman, only to be deserted himself. He’s drowning in debt overseas from gambling, and the collectors would surely kill him if he can’t pay up. As for the son, he’s been struggling with his mother ever since the father left. He came here because he needed money for her cancer treatment.”
Howard stood up from the couch and began to recount their story, his words sending chills down Clara’s spine. The more he spoke, the more she realized just how terrifying he was.
“You really do dig into every detail, don’t you?” Clara clenched her fists, trying to suppress the anger boiling inside her.
“Of course, I have to know everything about anyone who takes part in this game.” Howard smiled faintly. “So, tell me, do you think the father will kill the son, or the other way around?”
“I won’t bet on something that risks lives! I’d rather give up that tourist project!” Clara turned to leave, but Howard blocked her path.
“I can’t let you go that easily. This is a game; if you guess right, I’ll give you the project and even throw in an extra benefit. They won’t die, but they will be hurt. You need to understand that once you step into that room, one person has to die for the game to end. Today, because of you, I’ll spare both of them from death. But if you don’t play, one of them will surely die.”
Howard’s words made Clara’s lips tremble with fear. How could anyone be so cold–blooded? He might look like a gentleman, although his true nature was anything but that!
Grinding her teeth, Clara stared at the pair on the display, determined to keep them alive. “The son will go after his father.”
Given the mother’s cancer and the father’s abandonment, the son might take action.
“I’m betting on the father,” Howard said, picking up a walkie–talkie. He turned it on and gave the command, “Go to room 1201 and tell them to make their move.”
A lackey soon appeared on the display and gave the pair an ultimatum. “Do you still want the money? Then, act now. If you don’t do something in the next five minutes, you’re out.”
The lackey left, and Clara watched as the son, tears streaming down his face, gripped the dagger hard and slowly approached his father. The son hesitated as the blade was about to reach the father’s chest, just for the father to stab the son’s chest.

Clara gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief. “How could that happen?”

Howard calmly ordered into the intercom, “Send a doctor to the room and get him to the hospital for treatment.” Clara finally snapped out of her shock and watched the doctor and several lackeys hurry in to drag the son out.
“Will he… die?” Clara’s voice trembled, her heart freezing as she stared at the display.
“That wound isn’t too deep, so it’s probably not fatal.” Howard turned back to the couch, picked
the remote control, and pressed a button to restore the display.
