Eric panicked a little. Fortunately, he came prepared. He started his investigation when Michael entered Howard’s territory. He had also gathered information on Howard’s recent activities and work matters. “Howard established a new place called ‘Heaven on Earth‘ last month. It features young, beautiful women serving big shots and wealthy businessmen. He has those women extract business secrets from their clients.”
As expected from Howard, Michael sneered. He must pay the price for laying a finger on my woman.
He ordered, “Destroy the place since it’s new.”
Eric broke out in a cold sweat. After a moment, he appealed, “Mr. Goodman, while it’s possible to destroy the place now, our forces will decline. We may be in danger if Benjamin and Howard attack us simultaneously.”
Feeling Michael’s icy glare, he immediately shut his mouth. He knew that once Michael made a decision, Michael wouldn’t change his mind easily. Yet, what amazed him was Michael going to such lengths for Clara. Mr. Goodman seems to have developed feelings for her.
“Give Clara our site–in–development.” An idea struck Michael, and he added, “Let it be in another company’s name. Don’t reveal that the land belongs to us.”
He could help Clara retrieve what belonged to her if he wanted. He could bankrupt the Bennett Enterprise, acquire it easily, and finally give it to her.
If Clara had won the game earlier, he believed Howard would have helped her retrieve the company with the same method.
However, Michael knew she wanted to regain the company to make it thrive, not leave it in a
mess.
Now he had Benjamin–possibly Howard too–on his plate. He doubted he could acquire an intact Bennett Enterprise.
“Mr. Goodman, developing the site can bring us a considerable profit. It’s more valuable than Howard’s tourism development project. Are you sure you want to give it to Mrs. Goodman?”
“You have no right to question my decision,” Michael said sternly,
“Yes. I’ll handle it immediately.” Eric could tell Michael was becoming fonder of Clara, but he remembered Jade being Michael’s favorite.
He wanted to ask Michael what he wanted to do with Jade. But he didn’t dare provoke Michael

“I’ll go now.” Feeling the longer he stayed, the more dangerous his situation was, Eric fled.
When Michael returned to the bedroom, Clara had already showered. She looked at him warily and apologized to him carefully, “I’m sorry about my
mistake earlier.”
She would never have met with Howard to make a deal if she had known he was Michael’s archenemy.
Humming, Michael rested his hands behind his back. He sized her up, and his gaze eventually fell on her legs. “Is your leg feeling better?”
She didn’t dare to anger him and replied, “Yes, much better.”
“I’ll help you get Bennett Enterprise back. We made a deal, and I won’t break my promise. Also, even if Howard manages to do it instead of me, do you think you can handle the pressure considering your capabilities?”
His words stunned her. She didn’t have an answer to his question because he was speaking the truth.
“Make me pasta. I’m taking a shower.” At that, he entered the bathroom.
He balanced himself on the bathtub and looked down at his legs. He hadn’t used the wheelchair for a day, and the pain was wearing him out.
