Being treated like a substitute just to have a kid-no guy with any pride could really accept

“Once the miracle doctor cures Nicolas, Nicole’s dad will finally get his chance to make his move,” Alicia said.
Even if Mavis and Nicole had the miracle doctor backing them, Alicia wasn’t about to let them off the hook.
The miracle doctor might have connections in the medical world, but of course, Alicia had her own network too.
Her grandfather had left her a lot of his contacts.
She had plenty of her own connections in the medical field, and her network just kept expanding.
Recently, thanks to her teacher’s connections, she got to treat a real VIP-and actually cured him.
When it came to medical skills and networking, she could go toe-to-toe with that miracle doctor and not break a sweat.
Ten days later, Victor and Nicole hosted a grand engagement party.
The Farrells sent an invitation to Jason, and Nicole made sure Alicia got one too.
But neither of them bothered to show up-they didn’t even try to hide how much they hated the whole thing.
A few days later, Alicia got a call from Diana.
Diana wanted her to come back to Irisport for a while.
The miracle doctor was about to treat Nicolas, but the Moore family didn’t really trust him.
So they asked Alicia to keep an eye on things during the treatment.
Since Alicia and Nicolas had already cut ties, the Moore family didn’t bother appealing to any old feelings.
Instead, they tried to sweeten the deal with some real benefits.

They knew Alicia was involved in the eco-project Jason was running
The Moore family had already lost most of their profits and even pulled out of the joint eco- project with the other families.
But now, they were willing to offer up all their resources in that area to Alicia and her crew for their eco-project.
Nicolas was their only son, so everything they did was for him.
From Nicolas’s health issues to the way the Hammonds acted, the Moore family was mad as hell.
But what really drove them up the wall was Victor and Nicole getting engaged.
That was a straight-up slap in the face-the Moore family and Nicole couldn’t stand each
other.
So the Moores would rather go down swinging than keep playing along with the Hammonds and Farrells.
The Moore family really made a generous offer this time.
Alicia was also curious to see how the miracle doctor would treat Nicolas, so she agreed to go along with it.
On this day, Jason went with Alicia to the Moore family’s place.
Alicia had already told Diana that Jason would be coming along, and Diana didn’t object.
When they arrived, the Moore family-Diana, her husband, and Nicolas-were sitting on one side.
Victor and Nicole were sitting with the miracle doctor on the other side.
And Jett was sitting off to the side by himself.
Diana stood up with a smile. “Alicia, Jason, you’re here! Please, have a seat!”
Once Alicia and Jason were seated, the miracle doctor, looking impatient, said, “Let’s get started.”
He didn’t like Alicia or Jason, and he couldn’t stand Nicolas at all.
But the Moore family had something on him, and for Nicole’s sake, he had no choice but to
treat Nicolas.
No one objected.

The miracle doctor told Nicolas to lie down on a couch by himself and kicked things off with some acupuncture needles.
Once he was done, Diana glanced anxiously at Alicia-she only relaxed after Alicia nodded at her.
After the acupuncture, the miracle doctor took out a porcelain bottle. “Take one pill from this twice a day. Once you finish the whole bottle, you’ll be good as new.”
Nicolas took the bottle and immediately passed it to Alicia.
Alicia poured out a pill and sniffed it.
The miracle doctor frowned at that, but since the Moore family had already let him know Alicia would be present, he managed to keep his temper in check.
He was also interested to see if this nosy girl could actually spot anything.
After a moment, Alicia poured the pill back into the bottle.
She gave the miracle doctor a half-smile. “This medicine’s missing the real kicker, isn’t it? “You’re still keeping something up your sleeve. That’s pretty shady of you.”
‘Taking this stuff won’t hurt Nicolas, but it’s not gonna actually fix his problem of not being able to have kids.
‘Looks like he’s just buying time-since it’s not like anyone can figure out right away if Nicolas can have kids or not,’ she thought.
