Chapter 258

Chapter 258

The video blew up almost instantly after it dropped.

It got tons of saves and shares, and even shot straight up the trending charts.

Jason was the one behind all this. If it weren’t for him, nobody would even know who this guy was, and his video would’ve just gotten lost in the feed.

He even bought some traffic for him to make sure it got seen.

Jason was planning to pay for a trending spot, but once the video started going viral and people figured out that the Mavis he mentioned was actually Nicole’s mom and Alicia’s stepmom, it went viral all by itself.

With even more people paying attention, it just naturally shot up the trending charts.

With a juicy scandal involving celebrities and the rich, everyone online was loving the drama.

Word spread like wildfire through the elite circles.

Plenty of people were sharing the video in their friend groups and family chats.

At Hammond Group, some employees spotted the trending topic and the video.

They just had to drop the video in the coworkers’ group chat.

Gossip’s way juicier when you’re sharing it with the whole crew.

Caleb had moved out after a huge fight with his dad.

He scrolled through the trending topics and was totally floored by what he saw.

He never would’ve guessed that Mavis and his dad went to the same school, and that she’d had a crush on him way back then.

‘So all that talk about “just happened to meet” and “married her to take care of us”? What a joke.

‘They were obviously involved long before she married my dad,’ he thought.

He was so pissed he instantly sent the video to the brothers’ group

chat.

There were only the three of them in there.

Caleb: [Guys, watch this. Did Dad and Mavis have something going on from way back?]

Chapter 258

[Did he ever mess around behind Mom’s back?]

[And what if Nicole’s actually his kid? Is that why he’s always so protective of her?]

He kept firing off messages, one after another.

Kevin and Austin watched the video, and their faces looked seriously pissed.

Clearly, they were on the same page as Caleb.

‘Wait, if Nicole isn’t Mavis’s ex’s kid, could she actually be Dad’s daughter?

‘So if Nicole’s age lines up, that means Dad was cheating on Mom while she was still alive? Damn, they all realized, their heads spinning.

Kevin: [If that’s true, Dad’s just messed up. He actually cheated on Mom?]

Caleb: [No wonder he totally blew up at me when I said I didn’t want Nicole as the lead. He said he didn’t need a son and told me to scram.]

[No wonder-he’s got a daughter now, too.]

[I’m done being his son. Let him go play happy family with Mavis and Nicole.]

[Just thinking about how we used to treat Nicole like our own sister seriously grosses me out.]

[No wonder Alicia cut us off. We were so blind and clueless.]

Austin was fuming, too.

Austin: [If Nicole really is Dad’s illegitimate daughter, then I’m done with the Hammond family. I can’t accept that he cheated on Mom.]

[Alicia was forced to cut ties with us, and now he thinks we can just pretend everything’s fine and be a happy family? What a joke.]

He looked like he was ready to cut ties with his dad at any moment.

Kevin was fuming, too.

But he was thinking beyond just being mad.

Kevin: [Don’t talk nonsense. If we all cut Dad off, everything the Hammond family owns will just end up in Mavis and Nicole’s hands.]

[Even if we have to give away the Hammond fortune to charity, I’d rather do that than let those two get their hands on it.]

[Let’s grab dinner tonight. I’ve got some things I dug up to show you guys.]

Chapter 258

Kevin, the eldest son who’d always deeply respected his father, was now holding back a storm of resentment.

He knew he needed to seriously talk things through with his brothers and figure out how to handle this mess.

Hearing that, Austin and Caleb nodded in agreement.

No way were they going to let Mavis and Nicole walk away with everything.

None of them even thought about paying to suppress the trending topic or calling in favors to make it disappear.

The Hammond family’s reputation was already in the gutter these days, so a little more embarrassment didn’t bother them at all.

In fact, they could use this whole scandal as ammo to finally make their dad explain himself.
