Chapter 203
Magnus Hale
“It’s nothing. Just thinking about nonsense,” I say, trying to sound
firm.
He kisses my shoulder, and the gesture irritates me as much as it
disarms me.
“Magnus, talk to me,” he insists, his voice almost sweet. “I can see
clearly how insecure you are. What’s worrying you?”
I remain silent. I don’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing
what’s going on in my head. But instead of getting frustrated, he just
kisses my shoulder again, patient, as if he has all the time in the
world.
“Let me guess, then.” I feel his smile even before I hear his soft laugh.
“It’s about being passive, isn’t it?”
My silence makes him laugh lower.
“I won’t force you into anything right now. Sex was never the most important thing. Of course, I love being inside you, but receiving your

love… that is better than any pleasure. If you want to go without sex,
that’s fine with me.”
I close my eyes, confused. I don’t even know if that’s what I want. The
pleasure was good; I can’t deny that. But being in that position leaves
me exposed and vulnerable. Passive. And that is too humiliating for
someone like me.
“Or are you afraid that I’ll stop loving you?” His question cuts
through me, and my body stiffens.
He sighs. It seems he hit the mark.
Adrian grips my waist and forces me to turn, making me face him. His
gaze is serious, fixed on me, as if he wants to pierce through my skin.
“Magnus, there is no way I could stop loving you.”
“How can you be so sure?” I snap back.
He raises his hand and runs his thumb across my cheek, brushing
through my beard, caressing me as if I were something precious.
“Because I love you. I only have eyes for you. I killed to come here.
You are my everything. I kill, I bleed, and I breathe for you. Even if
you don’t love me, just accepting me is enough. The rest.. leave it to

- me. I will take care of you like a king.”
I roll my eyes.
“Yeah. But you’re still going to hurt me.”
He smiles, that damn confident smile.
“Only if you do something wrong. But I know you won’t do it
anymore.”
“And how can you be so sure of that?” I counter, staring at him coldly.
He leans in and steals a quick peck..
“Because I’m going to take such good care of you that you won’t have
the need to rebel.”
I huff at his audacity.
“And besides,” he continues firmly, “I’m going to respect your limits.
Your opinions.”
I let out a long sigh, letting part of the tension go.

“Right. But stop declaring yourself all the time. It’s too mushy and
cliché.”
He makes an exaggerated pout.
“I want to declare myself always, love. Tell you how much I love you,
how beautiful, perfect, hot, and sexy you are…”
I can’t listen anymore. I grab the back of his neck and kiss him to shut
him up. I feel his smile against my lips–the bastard, it was exactly
what he wanted.
He holds my waist and pulls me closer, enveloping me. I return the
kiss calmly, exploring his mouth, surprised that he lets me take
control. I grip his neck and his waist, deepening the contact, not
caring that we just woke up.
His taste is good. Damn, it’s really good,
The kiss starts soft, but soon I feel the heat increase, his body glued
to mine, demanding. My fingers sink into the back of Adrian’s neck,
pulling him closer, as if I wanted to glue his mouth to mine. He
moans low, and the sound vibrates against my lips, awakening an
electric wave that runs through my body.
His mouth is hot, wet, and addictive. When he sucks my tongue

firmly, a shiver goes up my spine, and I almost lose my breath.
It’s strange to admit, but I feel alive in this touch, as if every cell of
mine were waking up. His taste is intoxicating, half–sweet, half–salty,
mixed with the hot water still running over us.
