Chapter 98
Dante Castelli
No prisons, na unwanted stares, no threats around us.
My obsession with Elijah began with an overwhelming desire.
I wanted his body.
His skin under my hands.
His warmth just for me.
But it grew..
It took root in something much bigger.
I started wanting more.
I wanted his mind, his deepest thoughts, every piece of his essence surrendered to me.
I wanted him to belong to me, not just physically, but completely.
And now, seeing him there, so devoted, so dedicated to me…
I am forced to admit it.
He already possesses me.
He caught me, held me effortlessly, and tied me to him with invisible chains from which I never want to break free.
And maybe, just maybe, from the moment I first saw him…
My obsession was already love.
A love so intense and undeniable that it disguised itself as possession.
His soft touch on my face snapped me out of my reverie, bringing me back to the present.
When I looked into his eyes, everything I felt was laid bare.
There was no denying it.
There was no escaping it.
“What are you thinking about?” His voice came low, laden with curiosity.
I cupped his face in both hands, caressing his wet skin with my thumbs, absorbing his presence as if I needed to imprint myself on him.
Then, the truth slipped from my lips effortlessly.
“How much I love you.”
His body tensed for a brief moment.
His eyes widened, lips parted, and breath caught.

Iwatched as his chest rose and fell faster, as if trying to process those words.
And then… his eyes welled up.
I love you too, Dante. So much.”
And that was all I needed to hear.
Without hesitation, I brought our lips together, sealing that truth in a kiss heavy with emotion.
This time, there was no rush, no carnal urgency. Just the raw, intense need to feel him. To show, with every touch, every movement of our lips, how much he belonged to me.
How he always would.
My hands slid down to his waist, pulling him closer, wanting to fuse him to me.
He deepened the kiss, his fingers tangling in my hair as if trying to hold on, to anchor himself to me.
Maybe it was the other way around.
We only pulled apart when breathing became a necessity. But even then, he didn’t let go.
Neither did I.
Our foreheads touched, our breaths mingled, and our hearts beat in sync.
Then, he hugged me tightly, like he was afraid to let go.
“I love you.”
I kissed his wet hair, letting that confession fill me, spreading through my chest in a way I never thought possible.
*And I love you more, bunny.”
I looked up just in time to see the guard leave a set of clean uniforms and folded towels on a bench before quickly slipping out, careful not to interrupt.
But nothing beyond Elijah mattered.
I wrapped my arms around him again, holding him close.
“Very soon, we’re getting out of here.” My voice was firm, full of certainty.
Because there was no other option.
He looked up at me, his eyes shining with hope.
I traced his chin with my finger, guiding his gaze to mine.
“And when that happens, I’m going to buy you a ring.”
His soft laugh vibrated against my chest, the sound addictive like a drug.
“I can’t wait.”
My heart tightened, but not from fear.
This time, it was something different.

Something warm.
Something unbreakable.
Because for the first time in a long while, I knew I had a future..
And that future was Elijah.
We stayed there, simply enjoying each other’s presence, wrapped in a silence so comfortable that nothing else mattered. My arms held him firmly, feeling his warm body against mine, as if I could imprint him on me.
He let out a soft sigh against my chest, and the way his fingers pressed into my back told me he wanted the same thing—this moment frozen in time, where nothing could reach us.
But inevitably, the peace was broken.
The sound of his stomach growling shattered the quiet, echoing through the air.
He froze.
I could feel him holding his breath before burying his face against my chest, letting out a muffled groan.
‘Oh my God… How embarrassing.”
I chuckled softly, running my fingers through his damp hair.
“There’s nothing embarrassing about it, love. It’s my fault for keeping you here, knowing you’re starving.”
He let out another frustrated noise, hiding further in my embrace.
“Let’s finish our shower before your stomach starts demanding food more aggressively.”
He rolled his eyes but laughed with me.
We pulled apart reluctantly, letting the water wash away any remaining fatigue.
Once I was done, I turned off the shower and grabbed a towel from the bench, handing it to him. Then I picked up another and ran the fabric through my hair, feeling the moisture roll down my skin.
He grabbed his toothbrush from the small holder, squeezed on the toothpaste, and handed me mine. I accepted with a nod, brushing beside him.
The rhythmic sound of brushing, the minty freshness, and the smiles exchanged in the mirror made the moment surprisingly intimate.
After rinsing, I dried my face and began dressing without rushing, setting the towel aside.
He did the same, buttoning his uniform with a light smile on his lips.
As I raised my arms to tie my hair up, I felt his gaze on me.
There was something intense in the way he looked, like he was trying to memorize every detail.
I lowered my hands and caught him biting his lower lip.
“You look even more beautiful with your hair down.”
His tone was husky, full of restrained desire,
I smirked as I finished tying it up.

Well, it’s good in tying it up then. Only you get to see it like this.”
His Blatant jealousy made me laugh quietly.
Yes, my love.
I caressed his cheek before intertwining our fingers and pulling him out of the bathroom.
The wing outside was calm, the halls quiet.
We passed a few inmates, but no one dared stare for long.
We walked side by side, our hands discreetly linked.
On the way to the cafeteria, a silent concern crept in.
Are you sure you’re okay? You didn’t push yourself too hard?
He smiled without hesitation, a peaceful glow in his eyes.
‘I’m fine, Dante. Really. You don’t have to worry.”
Still, I ran my fingers through his hair before placing a soft kiss there, savoring the tenderness of the moment.
“If you feel anything, promise you’ll tell me.”
He nodded, eyes glowing with shared trust.
No more words were needed.
We kept walking, ready to face another day in this hell–together.
