Chapter 614
Celeste knew exactly why Caleb had come to see her.
She had already said everything that needed to be said. But Caleb’s attitude this time…
She paused, looked at him, and said seriously, “I’m sorry. I probably won’t consider starting a new relationship for quite a long time, so, Mr. Jennings, in the future-”
She didn’t want to hold him back.
Caleb understood what she meant. Before she could finish, he said, “I know what you mean. But you really don’t need to persuade me.”
As he spoke, he gently placed the flowers he was holding into her arms. “I hope you like them.”
Then, seeing her standing there without moving, he smiled and said, “You should go upstairs and get back to work. I won’t disturb you any further.”
Celeste looked at the flowers in her hands, paused for a moment, then shook her head and handed them back to Caleb. “Thank you, but… I’m sorry.” 1
After saying that, she didn’t say anything else and turned to go upstairs.
Caleb didn’t get angry.
He watched her leave, and only after her figure disappeared from sight did he turn to leave as well. At that moment, however, he noticed Kieran standing not far away.
The two exchanged a glance. Caleb nodded slightly without saying anything, then turned and got into his car.
Kieran also didn’t speak.
He had heard what Celeste said when she rejected Caleb just now.
Caleb hadn’t said anything in response to her rejection, but Kieran knew that Caleb probably wouldn’t give up just
like that.
Once Celeste really got divorced, he would most likely take action very quickly.
Kieran knew that Celeste had been married before and had a child, but he had never really known much about her past love life. 1
From the way she rejected Caleb just now, he suddenly realized that during the marriage she was preparing to end, Celeste must have been deeply hurt.
Caleb had probably realized this as well, which was why he chose not to disturb her further just now…
After returning to the company and working for a while, Celeste went to Fleming Group again.
Around noon, while Celeste was still busy at Fleming Group, Wynn arrived at Fleming Group once more.
This time, Jacob was still in the office. When he saw Wynn, he paused for a moment. “Ms. Locket, you’re looking for Mr. Fleming?”
Wynn brushed her hair aside and smiled. “Yes. Trevor… isn’t in the office?”
Jacob nodded. “Mr. Fleming went out early this morning with Zeke to discuss some matters…”
There seemed to be a trace of awkwardness in Wynn’s smile. “I see… Thank you. I’ll come again when he’s free.”
From the fact that Wynn didn’t know Trevor’s schedule, Jacob already understood that the problem between Trevor and Wynn was more serious than he had initially thought.
However, there was nothing he could do about it.
Still…
Watching Wynn lower her gaze as she prepared to leave, he hesitated for a moment, then couldn’t help but say, If there’s anything you need my help with, please feel free to let me know.” 6″
Wynn smiled. “Thank you, Mr. Collins. If I need help, I’ll ask you.”
Only then did Wynn turn and leave.
As she went downstairs, she happened to run into Celeste and Lazarus’s group.
11
Lazarus and the others, believing they already understood Trevor’s feelings, immediately felt a bit awkward when they saw Wynn and then looked at Celeste.
Celeste completely ignored Wynn. 21
Wynn did the same.
With a smile on her face, as if nothing were wrong, she greeted Lazarus and the others. Once she got downstairs, she turned and left directly. 1
After returning to the company, before she even said anything, Lilian already knew the outcome when she saw Wynn come back so early. “You still didn’t see Trevor?” 1
Wynn sat down and replied calmly, “Mm.”
