Chapter 647
Wynn went upstairs and called Miles.
Miles sounded surprised. “Why are you calling all of a sudden? Is something the matter?”
“Yes,” Wynn replied.
“I wanted to ask you for a small favor.”
In truth, she didn’t really need Miles’s help with anything. But to make the call seem reasonable, she deliberately brought up a minor issue and asked him to help handle it. 1
Seeing that it was indeed nothing serious and something he could deal with easily, Miles agreed without hesitation. “Alright. I’ll have someone take care of it later.”
“Thanks.‘
After that, Wynn casually added, “It’s been a while since we last met. What have you been busy with lately?”
“Me?” Miles laughed.
“You know me. I don’t really have much going on. It’s you people who’ve all been so busy I can’t even see you.”
Wynn smiled. “Jo’s on a break these past couple of days. I took her out yesterday and only got home this afternoon. If you’re bored, how about we arrange dinner together in a couple of days?”
“Sure.”
In Miles’s mind, Trevor’s decision to temporarily not divorce Celeste was something he had already discussed with Wynn beforehand.
Hearing Wynn mention that she had been spending time with Jordyn recently, and judging by her relaxed tone and seemingly good mood, Miles assumed she hadn’t been too affected by the situation.
So, he said, “Trevor and Celeste decided to postpone the divorce because of Jo. If you spend more time with her, strengthen your bond, and reduce her dependence on Celeste, Jo will be able to accept their divorce more easily.” 7
Wynn tightened her grip on the phone.
Postpone the divorce?
So, not only had Celeste and Trevor not gone to the courthouse to file for divorce recently, but they had actually reached an agreement to temporarily stay married for Jordyn’s sake? (1)
But was it really because they were worried Jordyn wouldn’t be able to handle it?
Or was it that… Trevor was deliberately using Jordyn as a shield just so he wouldn’t have to divorce Celeste?

From what Miles usually said in their group chats, she knew that he was completely unaware of the true situation between her and Trevor. Even now, he still believed that things between them were the same as before.
That was also why, when she mentioned earlier that she had taken Jordyn out at ‘Trevor’s request, Miles naturally assumed that Trevor wanted her to build a closer relationship with Jordyn.
It was so that Jordyn would find it easier to accept his divorce from Celeste later on.
But what the reality was–she knew it clearly herself.

Given how much Celeste cared for Jordyn and from what she knew, Celeste didn’t seem to have anyone else she liked at the moment, or perhaps Celeste might still have feelings for Trevor.
Even in that situation, it would be perfectly reasonable for Celeste to agree to temporarily not divorce him.

She chatted with Miles for a few more minutes before hanging up.
After sitting in silence for a while, she made another call–this time to Jordyn.
The call was answered quickly. After chatting with Jordyn for a bit, Wynn finally revealed her true purpose.
“Jo… Recently, when you go to see your mom, does your dad still go along with you?” 1
“As long as he has time, he does go with me to keep Mom company,” Jordyn replied.
Then she asked, “Wynn, what’s wrong?” 2
Nothing. 1
She just wanted to confirm once more whether Trevor had recently been using Jordyn, like before, as a reason to get close to Celeste. 3
Which meant that the decision for Celeste and Trevor to temporarily not divorce was very likely something that had been pushed forward by Trevor himself. 10)
