Chapter 649
After the meal ended, Wynn got into Trevor’s car.
She looked at him and asked, “Are you angry?”
What she meant, of course, was that she had gone to find him through Jacob without getting his consent.
Trevor replied, “No.”
Then he added, “I’ll have the driver take you home.”
He proceeded to instruct the driver to head to the Locket residence.
Wynn didn’t stop him. Instead, she looked at Trevor and reached out to hold his hand.
He paused for a moment.
When he came back to his senses and was about to pull his hand away, Wynn leaned in toward him.
Trevor turned his face aside and pushed her hand away, shifting his position to put some distance between them.
Just then, his phone rang.
He picked it up and said, “I need to take this call.”
Having been rejected, Wynn showed no sign of embarrassment. She leaned back and said, “Alright.” 2
Trevor spoke with the person on the other end about work matters. It was several minutes before he finally hung up.
Wynn didn’t bring up what had just happened.

Instead, she smiled and chatted with him about the business he had been discussing on the call. “I thought that project had already been settled.”
“It hasn’t. Something came up and slowed the progress.”
Wynn nodded and continued talking with him about company affairs. 2
The atmosphere between them was fairly pleasant, as if the earlier incident hadn’t affected them at all. Wynn also didn’t make any further attempts to get close to him like she had earlier. 2
After all, pushing too hard could backfire.
If Trevor grew impatient and brought up the breakup himself, it would do her more harm than good.
When they arrived at the Locket residence, and Wynn was about to get out of the car, she said, “It’s been a while since you came over. Why don’t you come in and sit for a bit?” (1
Trevor remained seated in the car. “No, I still have something else to attend to. Another time.”
Wynn didn’t insist. “Alright.”
Without saying anything more, Trevor drove away before the Locket family came out. Z
The Locket family only realized that Trevor had been the one who sent Wynn back when they saw his car leaving.
Ruby asked, “Why didn’t Trevor come in?” 2
Wynn didn’t answer.
Seeing that Wynn’s expression wasn’t very good, Lilian already knew things hadn’t gone smoothly. She asked, “How did it go?”

What Wynn had done in the car was actually a test to see Trevor’s attitude toward her.
The result was obvious.
Although Trevor hadn’t broken up with her, he was refusing any intimate contact with her. 3
So, if she really wanted to turn the situation around through pregnancy, Trevor’s side would probably be- 1
Ruby, however, said, “Take it slow. There will always be an opportunity.” 3
No matter what, Trevor still hadn’t taken the initiative to break up with her, had he?
That was also what Wynn was thinking. 1
No matter what, since she wanted to win Trevor back, she naturally had to be more proactive.
However, she didn’t recklessly go looking for him again. Instead, she called him.
But Trevor didn’t answer. Not only that, he didn’t return her call either.
Wynn had already anticipated this outcome.
After thinking for a moment, she called Jacob and asked whether Trevor had reprimanded him afterward for telling her about his schedule.
Jacob replied, “No. Mr. Fleming wasn’t angry and didn’t blame me. But… He did say that something like this can’t happen a second time. So, Ms. Locket, I’m sorry…” 13
