Chapter 239
Chapter 239
Jullian’s car had developed issues halfway through following Mia’s sister.
The moment the car jerked and slowed down, his chest tightened with frustration.
“Damn it,” he muttered under his breath.

The men in the other vehicle assured him they wouldn’t let the boy out of their sight. But his chest still wouldn’t stop pounding, he hated this.
Hated the fact that his car chose this exact moment to act up, when every second mattered.
The moment his phone buzzed again, and the people tailing Lily informed him she was heading to the
company.
“What?”
“She’s going to the company, sir. Straight there.”
For a second, Jullian froze in his seat, shock washing over him. The company? Why the hell would she be going there? That was the last place he expected.
Confusion twisted his face.
He immediately grabbed his phone again and called the front desk. His words came out fast.
“Listen to me carefully. If a woman shows up there with a little boy and asks for Alexander Blackwell, you call for the CEO immediately. Do not waste time. Do not turn them away, do not ask questions, Just inform him.”
The receptionist on the other end tried to respond formally, to confirm details, but Jullian cut her off. His tone was firm, leaving no room for hesitation. “I don’t care what protocol says. You see them, you call him. Got it?”
He sat back, rubbing his face with both hands, trying to wrap his head around it. He knew how hard it was to get to Alex.
Even people with appointments sometimes didn’t make it through. Alex’s schedule was insane, his time priceless, his security tighter than a vault.
A woman and a boy showing up unannounced? They will be thrown out before they even say a word.
He couldn’t let that happen.
For once, he didn’t know what the hell was going on, but every bone in his body told him he had to stand behind whatever Mia’s sister was trying to do.
He sat there, tapping his fingers against his leg restlessly, glancing at his phone every other second. If Lily succeeded in getting inside, everything would change.

“Is it working now?” he asked sharply, leaning forward as the driver bent under the hood.
“Let me check, sir.”
The driver slid into his seat again, inserting the key, and twisted.
The engine roared to life.
The relief that washed over Jullian was overwhelming.

He let out a heavy breath. His eyes narrowed with determination as he straightened his jacket. “Back to the company,” he ordered, his voice firm.
The driver nodded, pulling onto the road.
Jullian leaned back against his seat.
Whatever happened next, there was no stopping it now.
Meanwhile back at the company, Alex still couldn’t process what was happening.
“Mom-”
“Come on,” she said sharply, dragging him out of his office.
“Mom,” Alex called again, frowning as he struggled to keep up.
She finally paused outside his office door and turned to him, her hand still gripping his wrist. Her eyes held a look he hadn’t seen in years.
“Trust me on this one,” she whispered.
Alex sighs, shoving his hands into his pockets as he follows her to his private elevator.
There was no way on planet earth that Mia was in the lobby of his company…with a child. His child. That idea alone was insane.
Mia had been pregnant when he left Willowcrest? How? It didn’t make sense.
If that happened she would have told him, right? She wouldn’t have kept it from him. She wouldn’t have packed
up,
left everything behind, and disappeared with her family without a single word.
The more he thought about it, the more ridiculous this whole thing seemed. Somebody was playing games. Somebody was pulling one on his mom.
And his mom was falling for it.
Inside the elevator, she turned to him again, her face lit with a bright smile “The boy looks like you,” she said softly.

Alex’s chest tightened. He didn’t even want to ask how she knew so much or why she had kept this away from him all this while. None of it made sense.
But the way his mom was looking at him now….it unsettled him even more. She looked nervous as hell, happy
too.
The elevator opens into his private garage. From there, they slipped into a quiet corridor that led toward the grand floor. His footsteps echoed beside hers, heavy and tense.
Alex finally muttered, “Why again didn’t we just ask this person to come up to my
office?”
His mom didn’t respond. She just kept moving like she knew exactly what she was doing.
He sighed, pressing a hand to his temple. Something clicked in his head and made him halt mid–step.
“Mom–wait.”
She turned back, brows pinched. “What is it?”
He stared at her. “Is this Mia the same person that bullshited you with that dream crap?”
Her
eyes
softened, almost defensive. “It wasn’t crap. And yes it’s the same person.”
Alex exhaled sharply, rubbing his forehead tiredly.
The Mia he knew wasn’t some magical dream seer or something.
“Mom, whoever is scamm-” he began, trying to pull her back to reason.
“Just shut up and follow me. We’re almost there,” she snapped, cutting him off so fast his words died in his throat. She turned around and kept walking.
Alex sighed again, long and heavy, before following.
The lobby was buzzing as usual….
His eyes roamed the space, searching, though he wasn’t even sure what he was searching for,
“There,” his mom said suddenly,
Alex turned immediately, his eyes following the direction she was pointing.
And then he saw them.
It wasn’t Mia.
His entire body goes still…..
It was Mia’s sister.
And she was carrying a little boy in her arms.

His throat turned dry in an instant. His heart slammed against his chest.
“What the fuck…” The words slipped out under his breath.
“That’s not Mia.” his mom says, her voice laced with confusion.

Alex’s lips parted, but for a moment no sound came out. He forced himself to speak, his voice uneven. “It’s uh –” he swallowed. “It’s Mia’s sister.”
His eyes didn’t leave them, not even for a second.
The little boy clung to her shoulder, his small fingers clutching her dress.
Mia’s sister as if sensing someone was watching her slowly turns.
Their eyes locked.
At that exact second, the glass doors at the entrance opens, Jullian runs inside, his eyes scans the room with
urgency.
He looked around frantically until he spotted them.
He looks relieved…
What the actual hell is going on!
