Right now, she had no way of contacting the higher ups of the Cloudshadow Sect, nor could she break through the confinement chamber 11 the only chance of escape would be when the patrol officers returned. She’d have to seize that moment.
With that in mind, she stopped wasting energy and found a clean spot to sit and conserve her strength.
The young man remarked, “Now that’s more like it. What’s the point in struggling when you’re already knocking on death’s door?”
He seemed quite satisfied with Raven’s compromise. He picked up a bottle of water beside him and tossed it her way.
He said, “Drink some water and moisten your throat. All you can do is wait to die here, but you won’t even know when that death will come.
Raven looked at the bottled water that rolled to her feet, but didn’t move.
For someone so disheveled and trapped in a confinement chamber, it was strange that this young man still had access to such high–end bottled water. It made her curious who he was and why he was locked up in here.

“Why aren’t you drinking? What, you think I poisoned it?” Seeing that Raven hadn’t reacted, the young man sneered.
He added, “We’re both stuck in here. There’s no point trying to harm you. And even if that bottle were poisoned, the patrol officers wouldn’t have let me bring it in.”
That did make sense.
Raven raised an eyebrow and asked, “Then why did they let you bring water in?”
He replied, “Because I’m not like you, lowborn commoners with no background. I’m only sharing with you because we’re locked up in the same room.”
The young man’s expression briefly flashed with resentment, as though recalling something that had completely derailed his life.
“So I should thank you?” Raven picked up the bottle, twisted it open, and took a sip. Then, with a blank expression, she looked at the young man across from her and said, “But I will be walking out of here alive.”
“You’re far too naive.” The young man shook his head dismissively, clearly not taking her words seriously.
well. The young man thought he couldn’t get out, so a powerless nobody like her would not have the chance as
The only way out of this place was to either be one of the recognized successors of the Brown family in Deariton, carrying the Starcard that symbolized their identity, or to be strong enough to challenge the four ruling powers head–on.
But the young man thought that was impossible. If Raven were that powerful, she wouldn’t have ended up locked up some tertiary city like Frihamen City could produce a peerless powerhouse.

Just as he was about to advise her to stop wasting her energy and accept her fate, he suddenly heard the sound of a water bottle falling onto the floor.
He turned to see Raven clutching her head in pain, swaying unsteadily like she was about to collapse.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you?” The young man looked at her in surprise. “There’s no poison in the water. I swear! Don’t go faking something just to pin it on me!”
Everyone locked in here would die eventually, but execution and murder were two very different things. He wasn’t about to take the blame for the latter. Raven remained unresponsive, still holding her head. The young man got up from the corner and walked over to her.
“You…” He reached out to turn her by the shoulder, intending to lift her head. Then, he stepped back two steps in shock.
Her eyes were tightly shut, but between her brows was now radiating the unmistakable aura of a peak Chariot. One look was enough to send chills down

his spine.
Just moments ago, he hadn’t sensed even the slightest hint of combat energy from this girl. He thought he was seeing things.
