Though they were all doing their best to flatter the Cherry family now, they couldn’t help but feel envious of their connection to the Cloudshadow Sect.

The other family heads envied and resented the Cherry family’s rise, while Mack and Leonard from the Cherry family were more concerned about their losses.
“The money spent on wedding favors and cash gifts must be in the several million range. It would’ve been so much better if it had gone to us, but now it’s all going to those people!”
“It seems the Lady Valor doesn’t know how to manage money. Felipe, after you two get married, why don’t you try talking to her about letting you handle the family finances?”
“That’s right.” Leonard nodded. “The finances are crucial. They should be under your control. Since Lady Valor likes you, she’ll listen to whatever you say.”
The Cherry family arrived at the wedding venue, with Felipe dressed in an expensive custom–made suit. He had spent several hundred thousand dollars, draining all his savings, to buy it.
Felipe thought, ‘But it would all be worth it. Once I marry Lady Valor, I’ll inherit a fortune. A suit worth several hundred thousand dollars is nothing compared to the wealth waiting for me.‘
Felipe stood proudly at the hotel’s banquet hall entrance, his chest out and head held high, with his right hand casually resting in his suit pocket. On the outside, he looked perfectly fine.
But in reality, Raven had severed the tendons in his right hand. Despite seeing several doctors, none of them could repair it.
The Cherry family kept the injury a secret, telling everyone that his hand needed rest and would heal quickly. It wasn’t a significant concern since no one would notice the injury unless he were lifting heavy objects.
At such a grand wedding, there was no chance anyone would ask the groom to do anything physically demanding, and the Cherry family remained smug
about their flawless plan.
Once he married Lady Valor, even if she discovered the issue with his hand later, they could always claim it was a doctor’s misdiagnosis and that they hadn’t deliberately hidden it.
The Cherry family had been standing at the entrance for quite a while, but no one had come to greet them. Felipe frowned in displeasure.
“What’s going on with Cloudshadow Sect? Today is the day I’m marrying their Lady Valor, and they didn’t send a car to pick me up. Now we’re here, and still, no one is coming to greet us? It is completely unacceptable!”
Though rumors spread throughout Frihamen City about how much Cloudshadow Sect valued him as their future son–in–law, Felipe knew the truth–his unseen fiancée hadn’t even bothered to call him.
As for the expensive suit he’d bought for the wedding, he had drained his savings for it, yet Cloudshadow Sect remained silent, showing r contributing.
“Mack, did you call Timothy to tell him to send someone out to greet us?”
