Chapter 937
Chapter 937
The young man who had knocked his opponent back with a single punch now had a look of euphoric vindication in his eyes. He had finally proven himself–not a worthless outcast anymore, but a warrior capable of standing toe–to–toe with the guards of a secondary city.
“Lady Valor, I did it!” he cried, clenching his fists tightly
as
he looked at Raven with awe and admiration. “I didn’t let you down. I surpassed myselfi
The other members of the Cloudshadow Sect were just as secstatic. At some point, everyone had lived a life of hardship, trampled and mocked by others.
It had been Raven who pulled them out of the mire, who gave them a place where they could survive and belong. Now, years later, the girl who once saved them had once again reignited their hope, giving these nobodies from a tertiary city the courage to keep moving forward.
A faint gleam flashed in Raven’s dark eyes as she nodded in satisfaction. She turned to the Cloudshadow Sect members before her and said, “You’ve done well.”
That one sentence of praise sent the sect members into an emotional high, and with one final surge, they wiped out the remaining guards in a single
blow.
“They’re all dead. Now it’s your turn,” Raven spat coldly as she cast a sidelong glance at the terrified head of the checkpoint office, who had been stumbling backward in fear.
She raised her hand casually, and a beam of white light flashed before everyone’s eyes–striking the man directly in the throat.
The leader didn’t even have time to scream before he stopped breathing. His enormous body crashed to the ground, eyes wide open, refusing to shut
even in death.
Perhaps, in that final moment, he still couldn’t believe that the lowly trash he had always looked down on could actually bring about his end.
Half an hour later, every major family and local faction in Forlunda City received the same shocking message: [The checkpoint head and his entire team have been wiped out.]
However, this message never reached the top levels of the Forreb government. After all, this was merely a border post between a secondary city and a tertiary one. With such a low–ranking checkpoint, the upper echelons hadn’t bothered to assign any elite guards; instead, the local powers and major families had personally appointed the guards.
Now, all the men they had sent were dead. Shock turned into fury.
They cursed furiously, “Those filthy mongrels from the tertiary city actually dared to storm a
checkpoint?”
“I knew they couldn’t be trusted!” others chimed in.
Some questioned, “But they’re just worthless trash from a tertiary city. How could they possibly have the strength to slaughter all the guards?”
Others added in disbelief, “The checkpoint was manned by elite warriors handpicked by our families and local powers! Every one of them had reached the Mid–Class Pinnacle, and their leader had already broken through into the Elite stage. With so many powerful fighters stationed there, how could they have all fallen to a bunch of nobodies from a tertiary city?”
No one wanted to believe such an absurd report, but the subordinate who had returned with the news insisted, “Every word I said is true!
“Those mongrels from the lower cities didn’t just break into the checkpoint–they killed the head and took over the entire post!”
As soon as he said that, a heavy silence fell. The family heads stared wide–eyed in disbelief, thinking, ‘How could this kind of nonsense be true?
‘They’re nothing but ants from a third–rate city! What right do they have to pull this off?
