Chapter 939
“Lady Valor, the major powers in Forlunda City have likely already heard the news. They might be gathering their forces to come star or nud non vi can’t afford to let our guard down,” one member warned.
Another added, “That’s right. We’re new here and not yet familiar with Forlunda City. If we fall into one of their traps, the consequences coulif 84 disastrous.”
None of the elders grew arrogant of complacent after effortlessly wiping out the guards at the checkpoint. Instead, they stayed constantly alert, determined not to drag Raven down.
“Mm, stay sharp,” Raven nodded in acknowledgment.
However, she didn’t take Forlunda City’s local powers seriously. What caught her attention was how familiar the surrounding environment fält.
Raven clearly remembered that before her rebirth, she had either been in Deariton or the Divine Realm. She had never had the chance to visit other cities. And yet, reality now suggested she had been here before–and lost those memories.
As the group continued moving forward, a sudden ambush blocked their path.
A burly man at the front gestured to the black–clad figures behind him and ordered, “That’s them–cut off their retreat! Don’t let them escaper
At his command, several hundred black–clad fighters rushed forward, surrounding Raven and the members of the Cloudshadow Sect.
All of these fighters wore the same uniform, with the words “Emerald Dragon” embroidered in red thread across their chests. They belonged to the Emerald Dragon Sect, one of the underground powers in Forlunda City.
The burly man sneered, “You filthy lowborns from Frihamen City dare to break into our secondary city and even kill checkpoint guards? You must be tired of living!”
The Emerald Dragon Sect members were all at the early high–rank tier, even stronger than the checkpoint captain. And the burly leader’s cultivation had already reached the major general level.
Each person trained in different techniques, so strength varied widely even at the same level. Since the Cloudshadow Sect members had deliberately hidden their true strength, they appeared to the Emerald Dragon Sect as worthless trash from the lower realm.
The burly man squinted as he sized up Raven and the Cloudshadow Sect members behind her, only to be surprised. The rumored leader who had broken through the checkpoint, Raven, turned out to be a graceful, delicate–looking woman.
Instead of staying home to serve her husband and raise children, a beauty like her was out here leading a band of warriors into battle. That alone shocked him.
What stunned him even more was that these full–grown men willingly followed a woman’s lead. Such pathetic behavior genuinely disgusted him.
He wanted to gauge the true strength of these Cloudshadow Sect members, but no matter how carefully he focused, he couldn’t sense their cultivation levels.
He thought, ‘There’s definitely something strange about these people.‘
With that in mind, his gaze toward Raven and the others grew even more disdainful. He taunted, “You cowards think hiding your true strength will make me fear you and let you stay in Forlunda City?
“Don’t kid yourselves. You think a few shady elixir tablets are enough to mask your inner power and foot us? People from Forlunda City aren’t as narrow- minded as you imagine!”
He had heard rumors that certain dark pharmacists could create elixir tablets that temporarily suppressed one’s cultivation aura–but those pills came with side effects, damaging the user’s internal meridians.
