dessert. The people they sent to deliver them are at the dog. I can linerally smell chocolate from the hallway.
Okay, okay” I groaned, dragging myself up.
She took my wrist, pulled me out, and practically shoved me towards the door
“Calm down girl.” I hissed and open the door.
In the corridor, two camp staff members stood behind a rolling dirt filled with trays covered in silver lids and.. one big cooler with a purple bow on it.
“Oh my god,” Maya breathed. “We got a cooler. This is serious”
The staff woman smiled. “For Miss Morales and Miss Brown in Team Two.
“We’re Team Two,” Maya puffed her chest out proudly.
The woman lifted a tray lid with a smile.
The scent that wafted out was dense and sweet, cutting straight through the fog in my head. Inside it is an absurd, beautiful assortment- small chocolate cakes, pastries dusted with icing sugar, perfect ruby–red fruit tarts, little glass bowls of cold custard, cookies studded with chocolate chunks, and two glass jars of parfait layered with cream and berries.
“Oh,” Maya whispered reverently, clutching her chest. “My ovaries.”
“I hope you love these,” the staff woman smiled. “Tomorrow you’ll get a new delivery”
“Something like this tomorrow too?” Maya gasped. “Bless you. Bless your family and bless
my
tastebuds.
I picked two things from the cart- a strawberry tart and a small chocolate mousse.
“No miss, we are leaving the cart in your room and coming back for it later.” The staff woman gently grabbed my hand and withdraw the dessert back to the cart.
“Ooh” I mumbled, “then let me, thanks a lot.” I collect the cart from her.
“Take care girls,” The staff members bowed a little and walked away.
Maya looked at me like she’d won the lottery.
“I’m so happy,” Maya giggled.
“Shut it foodie and let’s go inside.” I said, steering the cart inside.
Maya immediately carried the cooler which turned out to be containing fancy sodas and sparkling water and dropped it
beside the cart.
“Ahh,” she placed her hands on her hips, “do we eat the best thing first, or save it?”
“Whatever you want. I’m trying the chocolate first”
The door swung open and Chloe walked in, her hair damp but she’s still in her camping clothes which means she hasn’t been inside since the morning. She looked at us and rolled her eyes as they met mine.

Chapter 100
$1444
“Of course,” she hissed, a muscle twitching in her jaw. “A consola on prize for the team that didn’t win because of her family background.”
“Is that jealousy burning?” Maya stuffs and bursts into laughter. Consolation prize? Aye girl, go hug a transformer” Chloe glared at Maya then at me, she walked to her room and slimmed the door shut.
“That girl is insufferable.” Maya groaned. “But I like her sometimes. It’s fun messing with her too” She picked up a custard bowl and a spoon.
“You like her?“.
“Like her? Psst,” Maya sniggered, “I like her only when I’m messing with her. I’d say she deep down likes you or wants to be you.”
She dug into her bowl, closing her eyes in ecstasy, “Oh, wow. Th… this is awesome. Dig in already, Aría. You’ll hurt the desserts‘ feelings.”
To placate her, I picked up the chocolate mousse. It was rich, silky but bitter–sweet. So I forced myself to swallow it. I took a small bite of the strawberry tart and “omg this is amazing,” I flushed.
“I know,” she mumbled with her mouth full.
A soft knock sounded on the door and Nora peeked her head in.
“Um, hey. So the cart is your reward. Congrats, you guys.” She walked in.
“Nora!” Maya smiled, spraying a few crumbs. “Come and join us. These taste so damn good.”
“So, is Chloe’s… in there?” she whispered, nodding to Chloe’s closed door.
“Yes, and she’s currently marinating in her own bitterness and jealousy,” Maya spat, handing her a fruit tart. “It tastes better than it looks. Eat.”
Nora took the tart and sat cautiously on the floor, leaning against the couch Mara sat on.
We ate in silence, tasting them and commenting on the ones we prefer.
I finished the mousse. The tart sat untouched.
“Okay,” Maya announced, licking chocolate from her thumb. “I’m full. I will need a walk before sleeping. We need to walk this off. A constitutional.” She stood up to arrange her outfit.
“A what?” Nora asked.
“A stroll. A pre–bedtime ramble to commune with nature and let our digestive systems commence operations duh.” She blink, already pulling on her sneakers.
“It’s almost dark,” I frown.
“Even better! I love Spooky. Come on, Nora, you need air that isn’t recycled Chloe–fumes. You can also gist us about your moment with her. Aria, move.”
“Is it necessary?” Nora pouts, “I don’t think I want to talk about her.”
“It’s fine if you don’t sweetheart, I was just curious. Now get your ass up Aria.”
I groaned, pulled on my jacket and slipped out into the cool evening with them. The sky was a deep, golden brown with white and dark clouds.

Out
Are you listening?” She tapped me.
“Of course, go on.” Nora and I walked beside her, listening to her gibberish, occasionally laughing. I must say, it cased out a bit of loneliness I felt being away from my parents.
I slipped my phone from my pocket. The screen glowed; there’s surprisingly a one bar of network service too, something that has not shown since my arrival here. My first of seeing network signal on my phone here.
“I’ll catch up.” I said, “Just… need to check something.”
