Chapter 104
I woke up before the usual morning alarm rang through the building.
1 lay there for a while, staring at the faint crack on the ceiling, listening to Maya’s alone breathing beside me the steps its not room
She had turned sometime in the night, her back to me, blanket half kicked off and partly on the floor.
Everything from last night sat heavy in my chest.
Could I really be the Ava girl? Or a twin? As much as I love Helen, Robert and Asher, I still want to know what my plake memories would feel like. Their reason for not finding me and who they are is a mystery I want to solve
I pushed the thoughts aside and sat up slowly, careful not to wake her.
“Please,” I murmured to myself as she hummed a little. “Just go back to sleep”
I slipped off the bed and padded into the bathroom.
The warm water slowly trails down my body, caressing my growing curves.
Steam filled the small space as 1 stood under the shower, eyes closed, letting the heat sink into my shoulders & between my boobs harder than necessary, like I could wash away my thoughts if I tried hard enough.
“Stop,” I told myself quietly. “You’re not doing this today. Just be Aria Morales.”
I tilted my head back, water running down my face.
Well, today we were going home and I can’t wait to get information on what they are doing about mature
I finished up quickly, wrapped a towel around myself, and stepped back into the nom
Maya was sitting up now, rubbing her eyes.
“You’re awake?” she yawned. “How was your night?”
“Your concert was so lit, I could not sleep it through” I plopped next to her
“Uhip‘ She blinked, confinion noticeably in her face.
“You snors.” I said.

Maya came to my room, now freshened up and dressed in a short black paste and pink sak og
“Okay, let’s go and eat, I’m famished, we come back to pack out things
“Sounds like a plan.”
“And you,” she added, pointing at me, “are not allowed to overthink anything before noon”
I raised a brow. “That’s oddly specific.
“I know you.”
“Ok boss lady.”
She stood up and looped her arm through mine, dragging me toward the door “Come on Caterers before forsal pens
there.”
The cafeteria was louder than I expected. A lot of people are awake.
Chairs scraping, people laughing, the clatter of plates and cutlery. The smell of food hit me instantly preding in a war hadn’t realized I needed.
Maya grabbed a tray and shoved it into my hands. “Eat this.”
“Yes, mom.”
“I’m serious.”
We moved through the line, piling food onto our trays. I wasn’t that hangry, but I forced myself to take a file of eithe
We spotted Jamal at one of the long tables, waving dramatically and grinning brightly.
“Ladies!” he called. “Over here before I feel abandoned”
Maya rolled her eyes. “You must have been here for less than five mimites.”
“And it’s been the longest five minutes of my life”
We sat down across from him.

He looked between us. “Why do you both look like you fought demons last night?”
Maya didn’t miss a beat. “She summoned them. I supervised.”
Jamal snorted. “Of course”
I poker at my food. “How did you sleep?”
“Like a rock,” he said proudly. “Which is impressive because the guy in the next room snores like he’s being attacked.”
Maya gasped. “Hey.”
“That wasn’t about you.”
“Still rude.”
“Lol, you felt his pain girl and I feel Jamal’s pain.” I chuckle
“Yen yen yen.” She snickered.
We started eating, conversation drifting to lighter things–who was taking which seat on the bus, what we forgot to snap wit and so on.
“Morning” Nora greeted me, “can I join you guys.
“Is that supposed to be a question directed to us?? You’re funny.”
She smiled and slid into the seat beside Jamal, tray in hand.
“Hey,” Jamal said. “You look suspiciously energetic and… good.”
“I slept,” she replied smugly. “Thanks for that.”
I smiled faintly. “You definitely slept well right?”
Nora studied my face for a second longer than necessary. “You okay?”
“Yeah.”
She nodded, accepting it without pushing.
After breakfast, they gathered us into the main hall.
One of the tour counselors clapped their hands. “Alright! Since this is your last day here before we dismiss you all, we’re doing one last activity.”
Groans echoed through the room.
“Teams,” the counselor continued, unfazed. “Two groups. Quick quiz. About what life lessons you learned from this trip.
Maya leaned toward me. “I already hate this.”
Jamal grinned. “And I love this.”
They split us up randomly.
