Chapter 112
“Your business partners? Pretty everyone was here today,” I opened the box and gasped.
Inside was a simple watch, rose gold, a picture of me is the background. It’s beautiful.
“From your grandma,” Helen smiled. “She said time is precious and wishes you to spend it wisely in good health”
“Wait… grandma sent this to me and said that?” I turned to her,” smiled faintly. “Her words are poetic.
“And dramatic,” Helen added.
“It’s a necessity in our women,” Asher said. “Runs in the family.”
I kept staring at the watch. My picture–slightly blurred, caught mid–laugh–sat beneath the glass.
“She really accepts me,” I said quietly.
Helen nodded. “She had always done that for you. Not for a day.”
I swallowed. “I thought-”
“I know,” she said gently. “But some love doesn’t reset.”
Maya cleared her throat loudly. “Okay! Wipe that sad emotion away and move to the next gift.”
“You’re terrible.” I laughed weakly.
“And yet,” she said, already reaching into the pile, “you love me too much.”
“Lol, I don’t love you at all.”
“You’d die without me.” She smirked and whispered quietly, “As proven by recent events.”
Nolan shifted closer, crouching near the coffee table. “Can I hand you one?”
I looked at him, surprised. “Yeah. Sure.”
He passed me a small, rectangular box. Black. Simple.
“It’s not that much,” he said lightly.
I smile and opened it.
Inside was a memory card reader and a neatly folded note.
“That’s random,” Maya said.
“Read the note, Nolan said.
1 unfolded it.
“Your memories will always be stuck in your head especially if you want them too.
Since your old phone didn’t survive.

I pulled what I could from the cloud, and atored it here as a backup in case they did not put all in your new phone. I also made an edit with your pics and videos.
Only look with glasses on, your beauty is so dazzling.” Maya read out.
My hands trembled
You did all that?” I asked.
le shrugged. “You deserve it.”
Maya blinked. “You’re telling me you went full detective tech nerd?”
Someone had to be useful,” he replied.
laughed, then pressed the note to my chest. “Thank you so much for this.”
Anytime,” he said softly.
Okay, that’s officially very very Gross.” Asher made a face.
Nora leaned forward. “Still going to finish at this tonight?
glanced at the pile. “Still… a lot so I don’t know.”
Pick one at random,” Maya said. “Fate style.”
closed my eyes and grabbed.
When I opened them, I was holding a slim wooden box, smooth and warm to the touch.
Oh, Maya smiled. “That one’s from me and my aunts.”
lifted the lid.
inside were pressed flowers, carefully arranged under glass. Tiny labels marked each one.
This is from the field near the old bridge,” Maya said. “This one’s from the trail behind the woods. This–she pointed, “-is he one you liked at camp. You said it looked like it belongs everywhere.”
My breath caught. “You remembered that?”
She smiled. “You talk when you think no one’s listening.”
Hlaughed softly. “Apparently”
I set the box beside the photo frame, hands lingering.
Jamal stood, stretching. “I’ll grab some drinks.”
“Sit,” Helen ordered. “You’re not escaping gift night.”
He groaned but obeyed.

“Nothing.” I smiled and dropped it. “Anything to eat?I gulped down as Asher graped the document and tore it open.
I watched his eyes go swiftly through it and flipped to the next page.
It’s a picture of a younger me. A different haircut.
“Ms Rachna,” He whispered and looked up to meet my eyes.
“We’ll discuss this later.”
Helen took a sharp breath. “What is in there? And where did you get that?”
“I didn’t,” I said faintly. “Someone added it to my gist.”

Maya scooted closer and wrapped an arm around me. We just finished eating. “Okay. You’ve had enough of an emotional ride for one evening.”
Asher nodded. “Agreed. Mandatory rest.”
Jamal smiled softly. “I’ll walk you upstairs?”
“I can walk,” I protested.
“I know you can” he agreed. “You just shouldn’t when I’m there.”
I laughed weakly and let him help me up. I looked back to see Nolan and Maya trailing behind us.
At the top of the stairs, I paused.
“Hey,” I said quietly. “Thank you. All of you.”
Maya waved me off. “Sleep. You need maximum rest.”
Asher saluted. “Survivor’s privilege.”
Nora smiled. “Sweet dreams.” I nod and watch them leave before turning to Nolan.
“What?”
“You okay right?” he asked softly.
I nodded. “I will be.”
He hesitated, then said, “That book carlier-”
“I know,” I said. “We’ll talk later.”
“Whenever,” he replied and headed downstairs.
In my room, I sat on the bed and looked around.
