I frozed, my brain shutting down as warm, disgusting liquid drips down my cheek and into my collar. I could feel my leaving my body for a second, as all I can think of is–Did this insanely beautiful guy just vomit on me?‘
He’s pale emerald eyes widened in horror. “I–I’m sorry,” he stammers, clutching his stomach, his voice hoarse.
“Oh my God, oh my God–no, no, no, no, no,” I muttered, flapping my hands helplessly, trying not to touch the vomit. “Why would you–how–what-“I stuttered.
He groans again, leaning against the vending machine for balance. “I–I didn’t know I was going to-”
“Stop talking! Please… stop talking!” I muttered
“Oh dear heavens!” A janitor gasped passing beside us, “Sweetheart, go to the restroom–quickly!”
soul
I nod numbly and walk oward the restroom sign she points at. My shoes squish with every step, and I feel like I would die any seconds away from the stares I’m getting from other students.
Inside the restroom, I grip the sink and stare at myself in the mirror. Vomit streaks trailed on my blouse is now spoiled.
“Such a handsome stupid boy,” I mutter, ripping off my blazer and running cold water.
“Hey are you okay in there?” a familiar voice calls from outside.
I blink, recognizing it immediately. “ASHER!”
“Aria? What the hell-”
He pops his head in, smirking. He freezes mid–step, eyes going wide then bursts out laughing.
“Whoa. What the hell happened to you?”

“Oh, you know,” I say sweetly, wringing out my shirt. “Just got baptized in vomit because somebody thinks I should be fine without a good description of the school.”
“This is your fault!” I glared at him
“My fault?” he chokes between laughs.
“If you hadn’t abandoned me, this wouldn’t have happened!”
“Okay, that’s–fair,” he admits, wiping his eyes. “But seriously–damn”

I stare down at my first paper. Mathematics. Of course.
Alright, Aria.
stry our best. Let’s Just… focus.
The first question looks simple enough–fractions or something I grip my pencil, start calculating–then freeze.
Wait.
I… know this.
I blink down at the paper, my hand moving before my brain could even fully processes it. My pencil scratches across the

The second question? Same thing.
The third? I barely read it before the answer pops into my head.

“What the heck?” I pause, frowning. My memories are blank when it comes to my past faces, places, even me–but this? This feels… kind of familiar. Like something is whispering the right answers before I can even doubt myself.
“Did I used to be some kind of nerd?”
The thought makes me smile but then, the invigilator brought in another subject- English. I skim through the comprehension and start writing with ease.
I stare at the next page, my heart thumping lightly.
Essay section.
The heading says: “Describe an event that made you consider that day as your most happiest”
My fingers tighten around the pen.
Oh, come on. ‘Could this test be any more ironic? I don’t even have any of my memories.”
I bite my lip and sighed. “Okay, Aria. Let’s just make something up,” I whisper under my breath.
Alright. Brain, do your thing.
As soon as my pen touches the paper. My hands suddenly starts moving, words start pouring out.
The lines came out effortlessly, like I’ve written stories a lot.
I blink, realizing my hand is trembling but then continue right away. I’ll worry about that later.
When I stop, there’s a full page. I stare at it, my stomach knotting.
How… how do I know all of that?
The bell rings, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Time’s up!” the invigilator calls.
“Alright,” I mumble to myself, “I’ve done my best. I closed my test booklet slowly and submitted it.

Asher was waiting outside when I stepped out, he lazily leaned against the hallway, his tie’s loose and his hair looking messy.
“There she is,” he says, spotting me. “So? How was the test?”
“Fair.” I sling my bag over my
shoulder.
“Ah, so you’re not going to tell me how the test actually was?” He grins. “Tell me everything.”
“I’d rather forget it.”
“Come on,” he says, nudging me as we start walking. “You looked like you were speed–writing in there. Either you bombed it

or you unlocked Einstein mode.”
“You were staring at me?”
“Not really”
“Well I don’t know,” I admit. “It was… weird.”
“Weird how?”
“I just knew the answers. Like, instantly. Even the essay part felt… familiar.”
Asher shrugs. “Maybe you’re just smart.”
“Yeah,” I mutter.”
He snorts. “Yeah you really believe you’re smart?”
“Ugh, get out. you’re of no help.”
“Never claimed to be.” He laughed.

At lunch, we sit outside on a bench near the basketball court. Asher’s scrolling through his phone while I unwrap a sandwich he just got for me.
“So,” he says between bites, “how’s vomit boy?”
I glare at him. “Don’t start.”
“Oh, I’m starting. I’ve been waiting all morning.”
“He apologized!” I snap. “But I angrily left though.”
He grinned and nodded. “Good. It’s better you don’t talk to any of the guys when you resume, they are dangerous.”
“Yeah, whatever” I rolled my eyes.
I walked out of Asher’s car and walked inside. Helen stood, waiting in the living room, a bright smile on her face and a teacup balanced in her hand.
“How was it, darling?”
“Eventful,” I say flatly. “Someone vomited on me.”
She blinks. “Oh my.”
“Yeah. Right before the test.”
“Oh, sweetheart, are you okay?”
“I am fine Helen.” I smiled.
Asher grins from behind me. “Barely.”
“Just shut it already. You know you absolutely caused this.” I snapped
“Whoa” he gasped, looking from me to Helen before stomping
his room.

Helen sighs and stands, brushing invisible dust from her dress. “Well, you handled it gracefully, I’m sure.”
I smiled and nodded. Thanks ma’am.
