Chapter 56
Nolan Pov
d
After lunch. I stop by the locker hall to grab my gym bag. The corridor is now half–empty, sunlight streaking through the windows and reflecting off the metal doors. I took my time, scrolling through my phone, just to settle my head.
“Kai, if this is about the test-“I hear Leo said, speaking to someone on the phone as he slowly approached me. “Relax, not me. He cut the call and turned to me. “We are heading to Mason’s tonight. You in?”
I blink. “Mason’s? What is he doing?
“Yeah,” Leo grins. “Did he not tell you about the house party?”
“I would not be this surprised if he did” I hissed.
“He probably told Kai who forgot to tell you. His parents are out for the weekend, and Kai swears he will invited half the senior year already including that of the royals college.”
Of course he would.
“I don’t know, man. I’ve got practice tomorrow.”
Leo gaped. “Since when does the almighty Nolan West skip a party for practice? And what practice? Next time you use that lie, remember we’re in the same club.” He paused as his phone buzzed, “Now come on, it’s been, what, a week since we last had a hot party.”
I give him a lazy half–smile. “Tempting offer, but I’m not exactly in a party mood.”
“Damn, he’s serious,” Leo mutters. “You sure you’re okay though”
I shove my locker shut. “You worry too much.”
“Alright, fine. But if you change your mind, you know where to find us.”
He disappears down the hall, still chuckling.
I exhale, leaning against the locker.
I stare at the folded slip of paper again, the one Bella Carmine gave me at lunch.
It’s crumpled now. I unfold it, look at the looping handwriting, and sigh.
Most guys
would be thrilled to have Bella’s number.
Hell, I should have been thrilled. Bella is one fine woman specimen.
‘Not as fine as that fine shorty though‘ a little voice said in my head.
Now, I kind of feel weird. Something must be wrong with me. I shove my phone into my locker, trying to push her image out of my mind. It’s no use.
I don’t even know her name.
I end up walking the halls longer than I should, pretending to check my messages while everyone else walks out to the

parking lot. I’m losing it.
By the time I reach the gates, the sun’s already dipped low, throwing a shade of gold and pink across the school. Leo and Kai wave from the car park, yelling something about the party, but just wave them off.
As soon as I got home, I threw myself on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. My phone buzzes, snapping me from my thoughts.
Sara: You are ghosting me already, West?
(Pouting emoji).
I frowned. I have no idea who Sara is. Must be one of this bitches i one had. After a few minutes, my phone buzzes again.
Sara: Are you going to attend Mason’party? It starts at 8. I’ll love to see you there, I’ve missed your lips.
I tossed the phone aside, ignoring the buzz from my phone signifying her messages. I closed my eyes, and let my mind do the one thing it shouldn’t. Thinking of my vomit girl. I groan into my pillow. “What the hell is wrong with me?”
I walked into Mason’s party, which Kai had forced dropped me of course. Damn, that goat is so annoying. Maybe it’s a good thing though as I also need to get my sanity and if it’s by getting laid that would at least help me from thinking about her. It’s embarrassing to continuously remember vomiting on someone.
I joined the dance floor, the music is deafening and the air smells of various cheap cologne and sweat.
Bella finds me within five minutes, looping her arm around mine. Someone must have told here I’m here.
“Nolan West, late as usual,” she purrs.
I fake a grin. “Yeah”
“I’ve missed you baby.” She purred. “Want to go somewhere more silent?” She smirked.

I wake up late – again – my head banging from a hangover. I barely make it through the shower before sprinting out the door with my shirt half buttoned. I quickly sped off, breaking a few rules on the road. My hair was still damp when I got to school.
“Nolan! Yo, over here! Coach is not around.”
I turn to see Asher, one of my closest guys, a grin plastered on his face. We’ve been friends since middle school–he’s the kind of guy you can’t hate even when you want to punck him.
I groaned but stride over, slapping his shoulder. “Yo, What’s up? newest big brother.” I laughed.
He grins. “Look who’s alive.”
“Barely,” I say, smirking. “Had a rough day yesterday.”
He leaned against a railing, his backpack slung over one shoulder and smirked. “Yeah I heard Mason’s party went wild..”
“You missed it” I snorted. “Girls from Royals College also showed up.”
“Yeah, I was a little busy..” He rolled his eyes.

“Bella was hitting on me but I’m not really feeling her. She’s acting like she wants to be be my girlfriend when I have a reputation of not doing relationships.”
He raises an eyebrow “So you’re ignoring her”
“Not yet, but I think I’ll do that soon. Maybe after another taste. mutter the last part under my breath.
He laughs, leaning closer to me. “So, will you be visiting today? Mom’s been asking of you.”
“Awwn, I miss her too. I’ll be there today. Who’s…
“Asher” I freeze at the voice. It sounds so much like her. I slowly turned and It’s her.
Asher turns, frowning. “Aria! What are you doing here?”
Aria.‘ So that’s her name.
“Because I now school here duh”
And then her gaze slides to me.
Her eyes widen. Her lips part slightly. And her brows knit together in instant recognition.
“You?”
