I shrugged aul walked back to my room.
sat down my my best, staring at the ceiling with a tired sigh. The day had been exhausting, chaotic, loud, but weirdly fun.
“No network soll.” I pout staring at my phone. I miss Helen, Robert and Asher. And maybe Nolan.” I could feel my cheeks Bush at the thought of him.
“Simt up.” I muttered as my stomach growled loudly.

hit your head?” Maya asked, walking into my room ten minutes later, smelling like strawberries and mango? “You talking to yourself and your cheeks are more red than the inside of my Coochie.” She raised her brow.
“Did you take my body wash?” I asked instead.
“Yup, I mixed it with mine and gosh, hmmm,” she sniffed herself “I smell heaven.” She smiled “Okay!” she clapped. “Let’s go inhale some food.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Inhale food“? Is that even a word?”
“Yup, I just created it.” She grinned.
The smell of warm rice, stew, chicken, fresh bread and other dishes met my nose halfway as soon as I stepped into the cafeteria. The hall buzzed with chatter, “eek” I mentally shuddered at the sight of some guys still wearing remnants of mud cating.
Maya spread her arms widely imitating a peacock.
“HELLO, FOOD.” She screamed. ” I’m …”
I quickly covered her mouth as people turn to stare at us.
“Hmmm hmm” I rolled my eyes and released her. “You’ve been acting weird these days girl, I suggest you should have a mental check up.”
“I’ve always been cray cray gurl,” she winked.
We got our plates and started piling food.
“Sup girls,” Jamal stood beside me, looking like he had already eaten a first meal.
“You couldn’t wait?” I asked.
“I was dying,” he said.
“Or you’re just a good monger,” Maya deadpanned.

We all went to the dessert station. “Brownies, ice cream, cupcakes, mini pies, fruit parfait, chocolate mousse.” I mutter, “this is diabetes wrapped in some fancy shit.”

I flopped onto my bed, staring at the wooden ceiling, letting the calm soak in. My body finally relaxed the panic, the running, the excitement of winning and all… it had all sat heavy in my bones.
