Who is that?
The man leaned closer, studying the gold carefully, then slowly moved to the other side of the table and looked again.
Minutes passed.
People started to whisper.
“What is he doing?”
“Is he really comparing them one by one?”
“Does he see something?”
Catherine straightened. “Someone is actually taking this seriously.”
Adrian’s gaze sharpened.
The man finally chose a piece and paid.
The servant took it away.
No one knew if he had chosen right or wrong.
The tension only grew.
More pieces disappeared from the table.
Now there were fewer than half left.
Lucas’s calm began to crack–just slightly.
Why is that one still there? he thought, staring at the piece he knew was the real one.
Why hasn’t anyone touched it yet?
Catherine suddenly said, “Adrian.”
He looked at her.
“Are you going to participate?” she asked quietly.
He hesitated for a moment. “I wasn’t planning to.”
“But?” she pressed.
“But now I’m curious,” he said.
Across the hall, Lucas saw Adrian start to walk toward the table.
His eyes darkened.
You… stay away from it.
Adrian stopped in front of the remaining gold.
There were only a few left now.
He didn’t reach out.
He didn’t speak.
He just looked.

From the side, Lucas watched him closely.
You can’t know. You shouldn’t know.
Adrian slowly bent down, bringing his eyes level with the table, and studied the bases of the gold pieces.
Then he straightened.
And moved his hand toward one.
Lucas’s heart sank.
No. Not that one.
Adrian touched the gold.
Catherine’s breath caught.
The hall seemed to hold its breath with her.
Adrian turned to the hostess. “I’ll take this one.”
The hostess nodded and gestured for the servant to take it.
The servant examined it briefly, then paused.
Her expression changed.
The pause was short.
But it was enough…
The hostess looked at the piece again.
Then she said, slowly, carefully:
“This one… will need to be verified.”
A wave of whispers exploded across the hall.
Catherine grabbed Adrian’s arm. “What does that mean?”
Adrian didn’t answer. His eyes were still on the gold.

Chapter 112
The hall was so quiet that even breathing sounded loud.
All eyes were fixed on the piece of gold in the servant’s hands.
The hostess examined it again. Then again.
Finally, she raised her head.
“This piece,” she said clearly, “is real gold.”
The hall exploded.
Voices rose at once.
“What?!”
“He actually found it?”
“Out of twenty?”
“This is impossible!”
Catherine’s hand flew to her mouth. “Adrian…”
Adrian himself didn’t react much. He only looked at the gold, calm, as if he had expected this result.
Across the hall, Lucas’s face had already turned ugly.
No… that shouldn’t be possible.
But the proof was right there.
The hostess raised her hand for silence. Slowly, the noise died down.
“Since the real gold has been found,” she announced, “the rules will now change.”
The crowd stirred again.
“This piece will now enter a special bidding round,” she continued. “Anyone who wants it may compete for it. The highest
bidder wins.”
Catherine turned sharply. “What? That’s not what was said before.”
“The rules have been adjusted,” the hostess replied calmly. “This is a special item. The bank has the right to change the
format.”
Catherine’s expression darkened. “So they’re turning it into a fight between giants.”
Adrian still said nothing.
Then-
A man in the front row slowly raised his bidding plate.
“Ten million.”
A wave of gasps swept through the hall.
But before anyone could recover-

Another plate went up.
“Twenty million.”
The crowd turned.
Evans Coles.
The moment people saw him, their faces changed.
“It’s the Coles…”
“He’s joining in.”
“Who would dare fight him?”
Evans Coles sat there casually, one arm resting on the chair, his expression relaxed, but his eyes were sharp and full of confidence. He wasn’t here to test luck. He was here to win.
He glanced in Adrian’s direction, then raised his plate again.
“Thirty million.”
The atmosphere instantly turned heavy.
One by one, several bidders hesitated… then slowly put their plates down.
“This is already madness.”
“No one can afford to fight the Coles.”
Even the Anderson family’s son, who had been eager a moment ago, clenched his teeth and finally shook his head.
“I’m out.”
One by one, people withdrew.
Until-
Only two plates were still up.
Adrian.
And Evans Coles.
The hall was in an uproar.
“Is he crazy?”
“He’s really competing with the Coles?”
“Did he lose his mind?”
“Competing with them is like looking for death!”
Someone whispered, “He’s challenged people before… but the Coles? That’s different.”
Catherine grabbed Adrian’s arm. “Adrian, stop.”
He looked at her.
“This was never supposed to turn into this,” she said in a low, urgent voice. “The bank changed the rules. This is not normal.”

She swallowed. “This is the Coles. No one wants to be their enemy. Please… back out.”
Adrian’s voice was calm. “I’m here for the gold.”
“That’s not the point!” she said anxiously. “This isn’t just money anymore. This is about power.”
Evans raised his plate again.
“Fifty million.”
The crowd gasped.
“That’s insane!”
“He’s not even hesitating!”
Adrian raised his plate.
“Sixty million.”
The hall exploded again.
Evans finally looked directly at him now, a smile slowly forming on his lips.
“Interesting,” he murmured.
He raised his plate.
“Eighty million.”
People started whispering wildly.
“He’s pushing him to death.”
“No normal person can keep up
with this.”
Elena rushed over, her face pale.
“Adrian, stop!” she said, grabbing his arm. “Do you even know what you’re doing?”
“That amount of money is a fortune!”
“Even if you’re making money now from healing people, you can’t burn it like this!”
“And the Coles–if you offend them, your life will never be peaceful again!”
Adrian looked at her.
His eyes were cold.
“You have no right to interfere,” he said.
Her face stiffened.
“We’re no longer together.”
The words hit like a slap.
Elena’s hand slowly fell.
Evans laughed softly and raised his plate again.
“One hundred million.”

Chapter 12
The hall fell into dead silence.
Many people were already shaking their heads.
“It’s over.”
“He can’t follow anymore.”
“This is the limit.”
Even Catherine’s heart sank.
She looked at Adrian, her lips trembling.
Adrian’s fingers tightened.
He raised his plate.
“One hundred and twenty million.”
The crowd went crazy.
“He’s still going?!”
“Is he insane?!”
Evans’s smile faded slightly.
But only slightly.
He lifted his plate again.
“One hundred and fifty million.”
This time, even the hostess paused.
The number alone crushed most people’s breathing.
Someone whispered, “This isn’t a bid anymore. This is a war.”
Catherine’s voice was almost begging. “Adrian… please… stop.‘
Adrian didn’t look at her.
His eyes were fixed on the gold.
Elena whispered, “You’ll ruin yourself…”
The hostess swallowed. “One hundred and fifty million. Any higher?”
Everyone looked at Adrian.
Some were sure this was the end.
Even Evans leaned back, confident.
Adrian slowly lifted his plate.
“One hundred and eighty million.”
The hall exploded.
People stood up from their seats.

“This man is insane!”
“ite really doesn’t know fear”
Evans’s eyes finally turned cold.
He stared at Adrian for a long moment.
Then he raised his plate.
“Two hundred million.”
A deathly silence fell.
Even Catherine felt dizzy.
Two hundred million.
That was no longer a competition.
That was crushing someone with money.
Everyone looked at Adrian.
“This time… he can’t answer.”
“He’s finished,”
Even Evans thought the same,
He was already sure of victory.
The hostess took a deep breath.
“Two hundred million. Going once…”
Adrian’s hand slowly tightened.
He was about to raise his plate,
But
“Three hundred million.” The voice came from behind.
