I had it all perfectly planned out. I’ve been Ace’s woman for years, and I intended it to stay that way. I’d done horrible things to keep him, and I wasn’t ashamed of any of it. I needed as many wolves in the pack on my side as possible. If they loved me as their Luna, they’d stand by me and not let any other woman take my place. Until now, they all feared and respected me because of Ace, and I loved it that way. But things were changing, and I had to work harder.
I was coming down the stairs to the dining hall for breakfast when I bumped into Nana. The woman was like a mother to Ace, and I hated her with everything in me. The tray she was carrying clattered all over the floor. I almost yelled at her for being blind, but I held myself back. This was part of my mission, one of the things I had to put up with. I took a deep breath and forced a sweet smile. “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking,” I said in a high pitched sweet voice, placing my hands gently on her shoulders to steady her.
The look on her face was shock and disbelief. I’d always yelled at her for the smallest things whenever Ace wasn’t around to defend her. She had never reported any of my mistreatment to him, though.
“It’s my fault, Luna. I should have looked up,” she said. She bent to pick up the fruits and plates scattered on the stairs, and I joined her.
“It’s okay. We all make mistakes, right?” I picked the last apple from the floor and took a bite. She kept staring at me, that same shocked look still on her face as I walked away. Good. Just a few more days and they would all come to love me.
I dialed a number, and the call was picked up immediately. I had made sure one of Ace’s bodyguards was fired and I replaced him with someone that’ll give me every information about Ace’s movements, everything he does.
“What do you have for me?” I said calmly. “And don’t tell me nothing.”
“L–Luna,” he said in a nervous voice. “The Alpha just left the pack. It’s the first time in days.”
He was right to be scared, he had initially refused to be my spy, he was loyal. All of Ace’s men are very loyal to him. But just as they were loyal, they also have weaknesses, and it’s usually their families or mates. With this one, it was his mother, at the end he had no choice but to do what I asked.
“How long ago?” I cut in sharply.
“It’s been almost an hour,” he said.
“And why didn’t you tell me earlier?” I snapped, rage eating up my insides.
“I’m sorry, Luna. I planted the device you gave me under his car. You can track him.”
I ended the call, clenched my phone tightly, and opened the tracking site. The dot was already moving. I grabbed my keys, got into my car, and drove off.
Ace had business in the human world, but for the past weeks he had been going there more than usual. I knew he visited Charlotte Graves‘ hospital because of his curse, but never in a thousand years did I imagine it was

the same Charlotte. The same one I was sure I had killed over six years ago.

I followed the tracker to where his car stopped outside a building that looked like a gym. My grip tightened on the steering wheel. I parked a distance away and went inside, careful with every step. Ace’s senses were sharp. One wrong sound, one trace of my scent, and he would know I was there.
My eyes scanned the whole area until I found two people. The muscular back and the intimidating height told me that it was Ace. He had his hands wrapped around a woman’s waist. My stomach twisted in pain when I realized that they were kissing deeply. They were too deep in sucking their faces, Ace was groaning like a wounded animal and the girl whom I couldn’t see her face but was certain would be Charlotte was moaning, clutching his back like her life depended on it.
My hands balled into a fist, I held myself back from grabbing the woman by the hair and dragging her all over the floor. Ace would kill me before I tried. I couldn’t remember the last time Ace kissed me, my eyes blurred with tears and I let them spill. He used to take me anywhere and I loved it. He would make love to me all night till I couldn’t walk the next day. After he banished Charlotte, our intimacy began to go down, he would touch me as much as I wanted him to and most times, I was the one who forced it. It’s been four years since I knew what it felt like to be with him in that way.
I had to find other ways to satisfy my desire. I’m a woman with high libido and I needed to find other means to cool off. Ravok has always been a good partner but he was not nearly half as good as Ace. No one beats Ace in the bedroom, he was a beast and it always drove me crazy.
Standing here, I watched him do the same thing I’ve always wanted him to do to me. Jealousy ate me up as I imagined him doing everything with her. The girl was a whore, she threw herself at him six years ago. I couldn’t explain the anger I felt when I found out that they made love. I could smell his heat from here, he was an Alpha and the Ascension festival was coming up.
They broke apart, breathing hard. Ace moved a little to the side and I caught a glimpse of the woman’s face. I had been hoping that Ravok was wrong and Roman wasn’t telling the truth but the woman whom my husband had been sucking faces with a few seconds ago was the real Charlotte. The girl I had killed for daring
to be Ace’s mate.
I ran out of the gym before Ace could see me. Clenching the wheels of my car, I was breathing so hard. When I calmed down, I drove my car and parked it down the streets where they wouldn’t find it when they stepped out. I was there for about thirty minutes, my mind raging, creating possible scenarios of what they could still be doing inside.
I watched them come out of the gym together. Ace opened the door for her and got into her car. My eyes dropped to where his car was parked. He left behind his Bugatti Chiron Super Sport for a woman. My chest burned at the thought. I couldn’t believe it.
I followed them quietly, keeping enough distance so he wouldn’t sense me. They drove through the city until they pulled into one of the biggest private properties in Manhattan. High gates, security everywhere, money written all over the place. I didn’t have a pass to get in, but I didn’t need one to know she lived there. That alone told me how deep this thing was.
I turned around and drove back to the gym. My hands were shaking on the steering wheel. The urge to destroy something was eating me alive. Ace was filthy rich, I knew that. He could replace any car in a heartbeat. But that wasn’t the point. I needed to let this anger out before it consumed me.
I parked and stepped out of my car, walked back into the gym like I owned the place. I grabbed a baseball bat

from the corner. Without thinking twice, I swung it hard against the Bugatti’s window. Glass shattered everywhere. The alarm started blaring, loudly but I didn’t stop. I kept hitting it. The windshield, the side mirrors, the doors, until my arms hurt and the car was nothing but ruin.
When I finally stopped, my chest was heaving but I felt satisfied. I dropped the bat, got back into my car, and drove off like nothing happened. On the way, I called my secretary. “Book me an appointment with Charlotte Graves for tomorrow,” I said coldly.
She started to speak but I cut her off. “I don’t care how hard it is. I want it done.”
I had heard she didn’t see people without an appointment. If she could do that to Ace of all people, she wouldn’t hesitate to do the same to me.
She called me back later and told me she was able to get me an appointment in two days‘ time.
Two days later, I drove myself to the popular Graves Hospital. I could have gone with a driver, but I didn’t trust anyone not to report back to Ace. If he ever found out I paid Charlotte a visit, he would lose his mind. I was certain of one thing though. By the time I was done with her, Charlotte would be very far away from Ace, and far away from America.
I pulled up in front of the hospital and handed my car keys to the valet. He parked it properly while I stepped out, adjusting myself. As I looked at the building, a bitter smile tugged at my lips. If anyone had told me years ago that Charlotte would amount to anything in this life, I would have laughed in their face.
She didn’t just survive, she cheated death. And now she was the most famous doctor alive. People spoke about her like she was untouchable, like she was some kind of miracle. They searched for her, and begged to see her, the same girl who grovelled at my feet begging for food.
If only she had never shown up again.
Ace would never have met her again.
And I wouldn’t be here, fighting a girl who doesn’t even remember who I am.
One thing I was sure of was that people never really change. No matter how far Charlotte had come, no matter the titles or the respect people gave her now, she would always be that scared little cat to me. The same girl I used as my punching bag. Once she felt my heat, she would break. She always did. She would end up on the floor, shaking, begging, just like she used to.
I couldn’t wait to put her back in her place. The thought alone sent a sick thrill through me. A wide smile slowly stretched across my lips as I stepped into the elevator, the doors sliding shut behind me.
