lle’s POV
My heart dropped like a stone, and I felt the blood drain from my face. “I’m sorry, this is all my fault for dragging you into this. Don’t worry, you won’t be
fired. As long as I’m still the Alpha’s mate, I won’t let you lose your job. Besides knowing I’m not home, what else did Brad say?”
Amy’s voice trembled with fear. “The Alpha said he’s rushing back to Moonshade Bay immediately! He wants you to stay in the estate and wait for him!
Ma’am, please come back quickly. The Alpha is really angry! I’ve never seen him this furious!”
I sighed quietly, my mind already racing. I understand. I’ll head back right away.”
I walked into Stella’s room, finding her seated by the window, her face etched with worry lines that seemed to have deepened overnight.
“Mom, I have to leave immediately. Brad already knows I’m not at the Rayne estate.”
Stella’s expression shifted to alarm. “He found out so quickly? Maybe I should come with you.”
I shook my head firmly, taking her hands and pressing them against my cheek. “Mom, this is between us. Let us handle it ourselves. After I get back, I’ll arrange for someone to bring Susan here. She’s been through so much upheaval, and I don’t feel safe, leaving her alone in the human community. If it’s inconvenient for you to arrange, please ask Raymond or Abigail to help. They’ll know how to take proper care of her. Malcolm betrayed her, and I won’t allow him to appear in her life again. Mom, will you help me with this?”
Stella looked at me with complex emotions swirling in her eyes. “You care about her so much that I’m almost jealous of this foster mother of yours.”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Mom! You’re my mother, and she’s also my mother! One gave birth to me, the other raised me! You’re both the people I love
most! You’re both the ones I want to protect!”
Stella’s expression finally softened into a smile. “Yes, she pulled you up from nothing, suffering so much discrimination and hardship. It’s right that you treat her well. Don’t worry, I’ll have Raymond arrange everything properly for her.”
Walking out of Stella’s room, my thoughts churned.
pulled out my phone and dialed Raymond’s number. “Raymond, I need to get back to Moonshade Bay as quickly as possible. Can you arrange the fastest
flight?‘
His response was immediate. ‘Not just a flight – I’m coming with you.”
I hesitated, then nodded gratefully. “Thank you.”
That evening, we landed at Moonshade Bay airport.
I stumbled slightly as I stepped off the plane, my body heavy with exhaustion and pregnancy. Raymond caught my arm quickly.
“Careful. Do you need me to support you? You look tired.”
I nodded gratefully. “I haven’t been sleeping well these past few days. I’m fine, thank you, Raymond.”

Chapter 254
His blue eyes flickered with concern. ‘You know, you can rely on me.”
I shook my head gently. “Let’s go.”
I was leaning on Raymond’s arm as we walked slowly toward the exit when Brad’s voice cut through the night air like a blade.
‘No wonder you had everyone at home cover for you because you were with him?”
The voice was filled with icy Alpha fury and dangerous wolf dominance. My body went rigid with shock as I turned to see Brad standing nearby, travel–worn and dusty, his amber eyes blazing with rage. A powerful Alpha aura radiated from him in waves.
Alex and the other assistants quickly bowed when they saw me. “Ma’am.” Their eyes betrayed unease as they felt the Alpha’s furious presence.
I nodded to acknowledge them, my gaze fixed directly on Brad.
Turning to Raymond, I kept my voice steady and polite. “Thank you so much for personally escorting me tonight, Raymond. I’m going home with Brad now.”
Raymond studied the dangerous tension crackling between Brad and me, observing the threatening Alpha aura radiating from Brad. After a moment of
consideration, he nodded.
Brad stepped forward, his Alpha presence becoming even more oppressive as he grabbed my wrist. His amber eyes were filled with barely suppressed
violence.
Raymond moved to intervene, but I quickly shook my head, stopping him.
Raymond’s blue eyes struggled with conflicting emotions before he finally yielded under the Alpha’s overwhelming presence.
After Raymond left, Brad suddenly pulled me into his arms, his Alpha possessiveness exploding as he captured my lips in a brutal, cold kiss.
The kiss was filled with rough Alpha dominance and icy possessiveness. I felt sharp pain in my lips and/tasted blood in my mouth.
Brad, have you lost your mind? I thought, shocked, as I pushed him away forcefully. I could see my blood on his lips.
Suppressing my fury, I said coldly, “Do you want to have this conversation here? In public?”
Brad’s expression was complex as he looked at me. He wanted to explode with rage, but seeing my angry face, he couldn’t continue.
Ignoring Brad’s conflicted stare, I turned to Alex. “Is the car ready? Let’s head back to the estate immediately.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Alex replied quietly, not daring to speak more during the Alpha and his mate’s confrontation.
Outside the airport, Alex had prepared several vehicles. When I approached, he immediately opened the car door. I slowly settled into the seat, expecting Brad to follow, but he didn’t. Instead, he got into a different car.
My eyes dimmed as I dabbed at the blood on my lips with a handkerchief, staring put at Moonshade Bay’s night landscape.
Tonight is going to be a sleepless night. We have too much that needs explaining.
The convoy moved slowly through the night toward the Rayne estate, both of us lost in our own turbulent thoughts.
When we arrived at the estate, I immediately saw Amy pacing nervously back and forth.

Chapter 254
“Ma’am, you’re…” Amy’s face lit up with relief before she noticed Brad behind me. Her face went chalk white as she felt the Alpha’s fury. ‘Alpha Brad!”
I patted Amy’s shoulder reassuringly. Don’t worry, no one’s going to fire you. You’re my assistant, and I decide whether you get fired or not.
Though Brad’s expression remained cold and his Alpha presence intimidating, he didn’t contradict my words. His amber eyes just flickered slightly.
Alex caught Amy’s eye and gestured for her to retreat quickly, away from the Alpha’s wrath.
Amy breathed a sigh of relief, quietly stepping aside.
Brad watched my composed demeanor, and his Alpha fury finally boiled over. He strode forward and grabbed my wrist. “No one enters without my
permission, he ordered the household staff and Martha sternly, then pulled me toward our room.
The sudden jerk caused me to stumble due to my pregnancy weight, and I collided with Brad’s chest.
Breathing in his familiar Alpha scent, I felt momentarily dizzy as the mate bond stirred within me, flooding my mind with warm memories.
Brad froze too.
Before Brad could react further, I quickly pushed him away, creating distance between us.
