Brad’s POV

I forced myself to look away from Elle’s sleeping face, my fingers gripping the steering wheel tighter than necessary. Fuck, if I kept watching her like this, I’d end up fucking her right in the car.
1 adjusted my seat, putting a bit more distance between us, and checked my phone. Alex had texted ten minutes ago that Mira was on her
way.
Right on schedule, a pristine white luxury sedan pulled up to the resort gates. Mira was here.
The guards at the gate waved her through without question. I started the engine, keeping my movements smooth and quiet so I wouldn’t
wake Elle. My Alpha tracking instincts kicked in automatically, maintaining the perfect distance as I followed Mira’s car into the resort
grounds.
Elle’s POV
I woke up to the feeling of warmth and the soft rumble of Brad’s voice.
“Awake?” he asked, his tone gentler than I’d heard in weeks. That magnetic quality in his voice made my stomach flutter despite
everything between us.
I blinked, realizing it was already dark outside. “How long was I-” I started to ask, then noticed the beautifully crafted cashmere blanket covering me. The craftsmanship was exquisite, clearly handmade. My heart did this stupid little skip knowing Brad had covered me while I
slept.
“Mira showed up,” Brad said simply.
That woke me up completely. I sat up straight, scanning the area until I spotted the white car ahead of us. “Is that her?”
“Mm–hmm, Brad hummed, sounding almost pleased. “Want to guess where she’s heading?”
I glanced at him sideways, playing along despite myself. “Meeting Eric directly?”
Brad’s mouth quirked up in that way that usually meant trouble. “Mira’s not that stupid. And Eric’s not that careless.”
“Then what’s the point?‘ I asked, confused.
Brad glanced at me quickly, that mischievous glint in his amber eyes. “Two werewolves with hidden agendas making a deal–what do you think they’ll do first?”
I found myself unconsciously rubbing my nose as I thought. “Hide their real cards, then make some fake arrangement? Or maybe they’ll

keep testing each other at different locations?”

I didn’t notice Brad’s expression soften as he watched my little gesture, but when he spoke, his voice had that indulgent tone that made
me feel warm all over.
“Yes and no,‘ he said. ‘Mira wants Rayne Group shares. Eric’s got a significant percentage, and while he’s interested in beautiful women,
he’s not about to let beauty cloud his judgment. So tonight’s meeting? It’s destined to be a complete waste of her time.”
“How can you be so sure?” I asked.
Brad raised an eyebrow, his smile turning brilliant. “Because someone already warned Eric this afternoon that if he loses even ten percent of his shares, he’ll be voted out of the board. Tell me, for a successful Beta werewolf, what matters more?”
The pieces clicked together. “So Mira’s going to get nothing for sleeping with Eric?”
“Not exactly nothing,” Brad said with that weird smile. “Eric might not give her shares, but he’ll probably throw her some money. How much, though–that’s anyone’s guess.”
“If they’re not going to make a real deal, why are we here?” I asked.
Brad’s eyes flashed with something predatory, that Alpha bloodlust I’d seen before. “Because I want Eric’s shares.”
I stared at him, but he didn’t elaborate.
We followed Mira’s car to a secluded building within the resort. She parked and quickly wrapped herself in a coat, scarf, and hat, moving with that supernatural werewolf speed as she slipped inside.
“Aren’t we going in?” I asked.
Brad leaned back lazily. “No need. We’ll just wait here. Someone’s already gone in ahead of us.”
Suddenly, Brad pulled out a laptop and put on a pair of earphones. The screen showed multiple camera angles and audio feeds. My curiosity got the better of me, and I reached over and yanked one of the earphones out of his ear, shoving it into mine.
Damn, I could feel Brad’s amusement radiating off him in waves.
Because of the earphone cord length, we had to sit close together. Really close, I could smell his clean, masculine scent and feel the heat from his body,
“The audio quality is really good,” I whispered.
Through the earphone, I heard Mira knocking on a door, followed by a middle–aged male werewolf voice–Eric–pulling her inside.
Then the video feed switched to show the interior of the room, and my jaw dropped,

“Oh my god, the inside… the inside…” I stuttered.
“Yep, the inside, Brad confirmed with obvious amusement.
1 gaped at him. “How is this possible?”
“Multiple cameras, Brad said cheerfully,

I took a deep breath, processing this. “You had this planned from the beginning?”
Brad just smiled, neither confirming nor denying.
“You already suspected Eric?” I asked, the pieces falling into place.

Brad reached over and ruffled my hair affectionately. “Your man isn’t weak enough to let something like this slip by. What kind of Alpha
would I be if I couldn’t handle small–time schemes?”
I stayed quiet, not sure how to respond.
“Scared?” he asked.
I wasn’t scared exactly because I definitely knew this side of Brad—the calculating, ruthless side that was apparently always three steps
ahead.
Brad gently grabbed my chin, forcing me to meet his eyes. “Relax. I’ll never use any of these methods on you. All you have to do is be
good and listen.”
Just then, the sounds coming through the earphone made my face burn red. I hadn’t expected my first “reality show” experience to be with
Brad.
Without thinking, I reached over and covered his eyes with my hand.
Brad didn’t resist, just asked mildly, “What’s wrong?”
“Don’t look!” I said.
Brad’s chest rumbled with laughter, the sound vibrating through his entire body and making my heart race.
I tried to pull my hand away, embarrassed, but he caught it and held it against his face.
“If you don’t want me to look, then keep covering my eyes,‘ he said, his voice lazy but serious. “I want you to stop me like this.”
I froze, my hand stuck between wanting to move and wanting to stay. This was not how I’d expected this evening to go.

Chapter 275
Through the earphone, I heard the two werewolves finish their “battle pretty quickly.
Wow, werewolf stamina isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, I thought.
“Baby, Mira’s voice purred through the audio, I came here with such sincerity. About those shares…”
I finally moved my hand away from Brad’s eyes when I saw them lying in bed on the screen, post–coitus.
Brad shot me an amused look before focusing back on the monitor.

“Mira, sweetie, Eric’s voice came through, his tone sly, “I’m not stupid. But I have a question–why do you want to buy my shares? Do you
really have that kind of money?”
