Craig was taken aback. His expression became grim at once. “Osmond Eames was poisoned? If that’s the case, things are about to get interesting!”
As he spoke, he beckoned to Margaery. “Come with me.”
Margaery followed him to the backyard and entered a room she had never been to before. Rows of bottles and jars lined the shelves.
Craig took the ceramic bottle from her and dripped a drop of blood separately into seven small dishes.
He then observed the reactions.
Margaery leaned close to observe with him. Soon, she frowned. “This is indeed poison, but this poison is extraordinary. No wonder ordinary people can’t detect it.”
“This is the White Bone Erosion Powder,” Craig murmured with a frown.
After putting away the dishes, he looked rather dismayed. “This poison is difficult, but not impossible, to detect Margaery’s heart skipped a beat at his words. “Master, do you mean Nolan Fischer should have been able to detect it?”
“He can detect it, but he can’t create the antidote for it.” Craig’s expression clouded over as he sat down. This poison is refined from 49 medicinal ingredients. Amongst the 49 are seven tonics, seven purgatives, seven hallucinogenic fungi, and seven highly toxic fungi.
“The rest are food ingredients. Under normal circumstances, eating a little of each is fine. But when they are mixed together, they form something strange. For those who are well–versed in circulating their core Energy Fields, it’s a tonic, but ordinary people can’t withstand it.
“They can’t withstand it, yet it can’t be detected. Even if it is detected, there is no antidote for it.
“Because the formula of this poison has the perfect balance of polarities, it is nearly invincible.”
Margaery was left dumbfounded by what she heard.
Craig watched her with a troubled look. “To be precise, this thing does not originate from the medical field, but from occult alchemy.”
Margaery instantly thought of Grace McKay and drew in a sharp breath. “Could it be related to Princess Grace?”
That would explain why Nolan Fischer dared not tell the truth.
Craig shook his head. “Not necessarily.
“Princess Grace is no fool. Even if she wanted to poison someone, she would not use a poisonous formula that could be traced back to her. That would be no different from digging her own grave.
“As for who actually administered the poison and for what purpose, I’m afraid we’ll have to wait for Prince Dashnell to
arrive.”
Margaery nodded glumly. She moved to sit outside the door and gaze at the sky overhead with a heavy heart.
Craig chuckled with a tinge of pride. “I knew I was not mistaken about you. As a child, you could already memorize medical texts at a glance. Now it seems you are gifted in other areas as well. You managed to diagnose that Osmond Eames was

poisoned just by taking his pulse”
In fact, the first time he took notice of Margaery was when she delivered a message to Kaul
That time, the message was very long. It contained more than 700 words, which was not something a seven–year–old girl could easily remember.
Craig wanted her to recite it a few more times.
But after hearing it once, the little girl repeated the message verbatim without missing a single word.
Her memory was truly astonishing.
Craig could not imagine what a prodigy like her might achieve in the future if properly nurtured.
However, it was a pity…
Craig sighed and, after a moment of reflection, said, “Fortunately, it’s not too late.”
Margaery only smiled at him weakly.
In her youth and ignorance, she had spent much time on the Wallen family members and Dominic Hadley. Now that her prime had passed, regret was futile.
Henceforth, she would study diligently.
A short while later, Dashnell arrived.
He was still seated in his wheelchair, and the silver–white fox fur coat he wore lent him an air of noble beauty. He looked particularly refined, elegant, and otherworldly, just like the bright moon in the sky.
“You discovered something unusual with Osmond Eames?” He asked Margaery immediately upon entering.
Although nothing could be discerned from his face, his eyes were filled with admiration. It was as if her accomplishment was well within his expectations.
The truth was, he was fond of Margaery.
Not withstanding their childhood betrothal, after she effortlessly memorized the information Craig had given her, he began to see this young lady in a new light.
Regrettably, he missed his chance in his previous life.
Now, he would not let the same thing happen again.
However, the news that Osmond Eames was poisoned took him by surprise.
Margaery did her best to explain. “When I went there, I was simply thinking that after all my hard work learning medicine, I could perhaps help Phillipa by giving her grandfather a checkup. I didn’t expect to open up a can of worms.”
She leaned closer and placed her hand on Dashnell’s shoulder. “Osmond said his health problems began alter drinking at the wedding of the youngest son of the Salome family. Right now, he probably suspects that Sigurd Salome did something to him.”
She gazed at Dashnell. “Marc told me to discuss this matter with you first.”

Dashnell held her hand and nodded slowly. “If that’s truly the case, then the Salome family has been plotting for some time Callum Sutherland wants control of the Ministry of War
This fellow was too ambitious.
And he was too brazen. His appetite knew no bounds.
Dashnell gave a disgusted snort as a steely glint flashed acrow his eyes. He then turned to Craig Have you identified what poison it is?”
Craig massaged his forehead. “It’s a rather troublesome one. It’s a poison I haven’t seen in a long time. It reminds me of many things from my childhood.”
Margaery groaned silently. She wasn’t expecting her master to start telling some tale from long ago.
That could only mean they had uncovered something astonishing
Craig’s eyes glazed over as he reminisced. After a while, he finally said. “This substance was originally refined by my master to assist in his training. After my master disappeared all those years ago, I never dreamed that I would see this substance again.”
No one knew whether his master was alive or dead. There had been no news for many years.
Yet unexpectedly, the White Bone Erosion Powder had surfaced in Sinderin City.
Margaery knew nothing of her master’s past and was especially astonished at his words. “Are there people in this world who refine medicine for their training?”
Craig snapped out of his reverie and replied, “Such things exist in every era. Whenever rulers of past epochs grew old, they inevitably sent people to search for the elixir of immortality.
“Everyone knows these are illusions. After so many years, no one has truly achieved immortality or instant enlightenment Yet, human desire still knows no bounds.
“My master spent his whole life healing and saving people, but when he reached his sixties, he too could not escape the fear of death and thus set foot on that fateful path.”
Margaery listened quietly and felt awed by such incredible revelations.
She couldn’t say anything anyway, since she herself had been reborn, which was equally unbelievable.
But Craig’s words made her think of real–world problems. “So, apart from Grandmaster and Master, the only other person
in the world who knows how to refine this medicine is Master Landon from the Southcroft Empire?”
It was obvious that the collusion between Callum Sutherland and the Southcroft Empire did not begin after Tessa Wallen arrived. It had started long ago.
Margaery felt a chill as she thought of this.
So many secrets had been buried in the shadows of her previous life, and so many dangers as well.
Tessa hailed from the Southcroft Empire and had help behind the scenes.
Callum was a member of the royal family, and the Wallen family held the Chancellor’s position.
Added to this coterie were the Hadley family and Second Prince Marcus. With the political turmoil at court, border wars, and the struggle among the nine princes for the throne, how could a young lady like her, without experience in the ways of

the world, expect to escape unscathed after getting caught up in it?
Her death in her previous life was, in fact, inevitable.
As Margaery thought about all this, she felt very conflicted.
Craig nodded. “Nolan Fischer probably dared not name this substance despite knowing what it was.”
Margaery suddenly understood. “I think so too. At his age, he will soon retire to live in the countryside. It is only natural that he does not wish to be embroiled in the court’s power struggle. Besides, even if he identifies it, there is no antidote. It will only cause more trouble.”
