Chapter 271
Marina snuck a glance in Daron’s direction.
When she saw he wasn’t coming over, Marina thought to herself. Thank goodness, and then softly murmured, “Mm.
Suddenly, a loud shriek exploded from her phone.
“Ah! You guys did it?” Kara asked.
“So, how’s Daron’s stamina? I heard once a guy hits twenty–five, he’s basically ancient. Isn’t he already thirty–two this year?” Kara teased.
Marina stared at her screen, totally speechless
She hadn’t gone far, and just knowing Daron was sitting right behind her made her face turn bright red. If he overheard her and Kara chatting, she’d be mortified.
“He’s doing pretty well,” Marina replied.
She kept her answer short, just enough so Daron wouldn’t catch on that he was the topic of their conversation.
On the other end, Kara sucked in a breath when she heard how calm Marina sounded, not a trace of excitement or shyness in her voice.
Having been best friends for years, Kara knew Marina’s personality like the back of her hand.
Hearing her so flat and emotionless, Kara immediately sensed something was up.
She quickly said, “Marina, you can’t afford to be clueless about this kind of thing. Your ‘happiness‘ is on the line!
“If a guy’s all looks and no action, then what’s the point?” Kara snorted.
Marina just stared at her screen, totally speechless. ‘Are they for real right now?‘ she thought.
She wanted to tell Kara that Daron was not just “useful“. He was way more than that.
But she bit her tongue, worried Daron might overhear and figure out they were talking about him.
“Mm,” Marina replied. “I know.”
Her voice was carefully restrained.
Kara sucked in a breath and went on,
“Marina, I know you’ve had feelings for Daron for years. There’s no way you’d give up on him just because of what happens
in the bedroom.
But you have to think about it. There’s a five–year age gap between you and Daron. Tin just looking out for your happiness, okay? After all, what a woman wants at thirty isn’t the same as iner twenties.”
Marina was speechless.
“Kara, can we please talk about this when i get home?” Marina sal, trying to dodge the topic.
Kara let out a soft sigh. “Guess you’ve really made up your mind about Daron, huh?
Alright, if you’re set on this, then go for it. I’ll keep an eye out for advice on men’s issues and book you up with an expert if

you need one. Stuff like stamina can be fixed with some long–term care, you know.”
Marina started to say, “He…”
She was dying to tell Kara that Daron was definitely not lacking in that department.
But with Daron sitting right behind her, she just couldn’t bring herself to say it out loud.
Before she could finish, a calm male voice came from just behind her. “Who’s lacking stamina?”
Marina whipped around, startled, and there he was. Daron was standing right behind her. She had no idea when he’d gotten there.
Marina slapped a hand over her phone, panic flashing in her eyes.
“When did you get here?” Marina blurted out, her voice a little shaky.
She didn’t even hear a sound,
Daron was holding the test results, speaking in a cool, casual voice.
“Just as you were talking about that stamina issue,” Daron said.
He’d just walked over and overheard Kara on the phone, chatting about “stamina” and how it takes some serious long–term care to fix.
Daron lowered his gaze, seeing the guilty look on Marina’s face, and narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Were you talking about me?” Daron asked.
Marina quickly shook her head, her voice flustered. “Of course not.”
Kara was scared stiff of Daron. If he ever found out she was secretly trying to get Marina to drag him to a men’s clinic, he’d totally come after her.
Guys had a huge ego when it came to stuff like this.
“It’s about my brother,” Kara blurted out. “He’s the one with the stamina problem.”
Panicking, Kara dragged Finn into the mess just to save herself.
Marina didn’t miss a beat. She handed her phone right to Daron letting him hear Kara’s words loud and clear
Daron raised an eyebrow.
“Finn? Daron asked. “How do you know?”
Kara awkwardly coughed and rushed to say. Obviously, I saw my brother’s medical report.”
“Daron, you’ve got to keep this between us, okay? Don’t bruise my brother’s ego. Kana begges
Daron just went quiet for a moment, not bothering to reply to Kära.
Kars was way too freaked out to keep the call going, so she blurted out
Marina, I’m gonna hang up now, Kart said, her voice tight wither
Okay Marina replied

After Marina replied, Daron spoke up in a low, serious voice. “Don’t you have anything you want to tell her?”
Marina blinked, a little slow to react, then answered calmly.
No, nothing,” she said.
Kara was worried Daron might take the whole conversation personally and insist Marina set the record straight that he wasn’t lacking at all, totally different from her brother.
To spare Marina the embarrassment and keep her from saying something she didn’t mean, Kara quickly jumped in.
If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up now.”
She hung up in a flash, letting out a huge sigh of relief.
Men and their damn egos, Kara thought, rolling her eyes.
There was no way she was letting her bestie live out her days stuck with a guy who could only last three to five minutes.
Marina hung up just in time, but when she glanced over, Daron was looking at her with a dark, brooding expression, clearly a little ticked off, and maybe even suspicious.
‘Yikes… Marina winced inwardly.
Kara already tried to change the subject to Finn, but is Daron still thinking we were talking about him?” Marina wondered.
‘He’s no fool. He’d figure it out in a heartbeat, she thought.
“Kara always says silly stuff. Please… don’t be mad,” Marina said, trying to calm him down.
Daron met her gaze, his tone cool.
“Mad? Why would I be mad?”
“Yeah, nothing to get worked up about,” Marina agreed.
‘It’s just Kara guessing wrong, Marina thought.
“Stuff like this, as long as I know the truth, who cares what anyone else thinks,” Daron said.
Daron frowned.
“So you never intended to tell Kara from the start?” he asked, histone probing.
Marina paused, caught off guard.
Marina rarely talked about personal stuff like this with Kara. Kai was just super curious, always wanting to know more.
Sometimes, just to satisfy her curiosity, Marina would give her a glimpse into her relationship with Daron
But she just couldn’t open up about her sex life to Kara.
“I wasn’t going to,” Marina replied quietly.
Marina just shook her head.
Daron’s expression turned icy, his gaze frosty.
“Isn’t she your bestle?” he asked.

Chapter 271
Marina just stared, totally baffled.
“Wait, isn’t Daron the type who hates being gossiped about? Marina wondered. “Bet he’s just trying to see how I’ll react.
“Just because we’re besties doesn’t mean I can tell her everything Marina said, a little helpless.
Daron gave her a long, silent look, his expression hard to read.
Seeing that, Marina managed a faint smile and tried to steer the conversation away. “Did you get the test results?”
“Let’s head downstairs and pick up the papers, Marina said, eager to move things along,
Daron looked at her simple, unadorned face and finally gave a small nod.
“Alright,” he said.
Marina grabbed the test results from Daron and started checking them out as she headed downstairs.
She was perfectly healthy.
Daron followed her at a leisurely pace, quietly deleting the Instagram Story he’d just typed up.
If she didn’t even want to mention it to her closest friend, it was obvious she had no intention of going public.
