Marina then slid the rest of the documents over to them.
The files were full of proof of everything Lavern had done wrong at the company over the years, even having someone on the side, and plotting to dump a huge pile of debt on Marina.
“You came to Zamora Group today just to make a scene and get the internet talking, didn’t you?” Marina said.
“If I leak all this online, what do you think will happen to you? With how fast things blow up these days, Uncle, your kid’s reputation at school will be trashed. And do you really think she’ll share the money from that 1 with you? She’s just waiting for her son to get out and try to bounce back.”

Carrie’s jaw clenched as she shot Marina a murderous glare, like she wanted to tear her apart on the spot.

“You really didn’t know, did you? All the money Lavern funneled out of Ross Group ended up with the Slay family He’d rather trust them than any of his own relatives,” she said.

It was obvious Carrie knew about this, but the rest of the Ross family had no clue.

As she spoke, Marina stood up and turned to Carrie, her voice cool and steady.
“Carrie, you should really talk some sense into Yara and get her to return the rest of the money. That way, maybe your son won’t get such a heavy sentence.

Carrie took a deep breath, finally tearing her eyes away from the documents and staring at Marina in disbelief.
Marina stood a few steps away, cool as ever, that faint smile never leaving her lips, completely unfazed.
Her fingers clenched around the papers. “You better keep your word.”
Marina met her gaze, her voice soft, but there was no room for doubt in it.
“Me? I never go back on my word.”
Carrie stormed out of Zamora Group’s reception hall, her brows furrowed in frustration.
The rest of the Ross family scrambled to catch up, trailing after her without a word.
Marina stood off to the side, just quietly watching them leave.
Chloe handed the USB drive back to Marina, who took it with a quiet thank you.

Chloe smiled respectfully. She’d watched Marina handle everything from start to finish, and she couldn’t help but admire how calm and composed Marina was the whole time.
