Chapter 278
Seeing Marina looking totally lost, Bella pointed at the ribbon. “Did someone get married?
Marina just replied, “Oh,” her face still calm, not showing any reaction “Did someone get married?
Seeing Marina’s lack of reaction, Hella leaned in closer and whispered, “Actually, everyone’s been guessing it Mr. Zamorns engaged.”
Marina pressed her lips together, her smile a little awkward.
“Really?” Marina replied.
“They’re pretty close, but it’s not an engagement. We’re already married, Marina thought to herself.
Bella raised an eyebrow and gave her a suspicious look.
Marina quickly feigned curiosity.
“Who’s he engaged to?” Marina asked.
Bella lowered her voice and whispered, “Who else could it be? Who used to show up at our office all the time, and didn’t even have to check in at the front desk?”
Marina thought hard, and suddenly a name came to her.
“Ms. Milner?” Marina asked.
Bella nodded slightly, “Yeah, probably her.”
“Before you joined the company, she always claimed to be Mr. Zamora’s fiancée,” Bella added.
Marina’s smile grew a little faint.
Bella suddenly shifted her tone, lowering her voice again. “Or maybe it’s not her after all.”
Marina’s nerves instantly tensed up again.
She couldn’t help but worry that Bella, like Chloe, would notice how her outfit today matched Daron’s tie.
“So… who else could it be?” Marina asked, her voice low and full of nervous curiosity.
She was practically holding her breath, gossiping as carefully as she could.
Bella glanced around to make sure no one was listening, then whispered,
“Don’t tell anyone about this, okay? Mr. Zamora really hates it when people gossip about his personal life.
Marina nodded quickly, almost like a bobblehead. “Okay.”
Judging by Bella’s attitude, it was obvious she wasn’t planning to suspect Marina at all.
After all, Marina had been away from Vrufield for ten years.
She honestly had no clue if Daron had any other women around him besides Joyce.

The rest of the executive office staff kept their mouths shut, and none of them were close to her anyway.
Chloe would never talk about anything personal when it came to Daron.
So if she could get any info about the women around Daron from Bella, it would actually be a win for her.
“Or maybe it’s Ms. Blanchard,” Bella whispered.
Marina frowned, a flicker of confusion crossing her eyes.
She ran the name through her mind, but couldn’t recall ever hearing it before.
“Ms. Blanchard?” Marina thought, puzzled. ‘Is she from the Blanchard family? Then Bella must’ve gotten it wrong?
Daron’s mom was from the Blanchard family.
Bette’s surname was also Blanchard.
So Ms. Blanchard was probably just one of Daron’s cousins or something.
Rumors just got more ridiculous the more they spread.
Marina managed a faint smile, checked the time, and said softly, “It’s two o’clock. Time to get back to work.”
Bella nodded and went back to her desk. After sitting down, she tilted her head, gave Marina a curious once–over, and asked in a low voice, “Did something good happen in your family today? You look so dressed up.”
Marina glanced down at her suit, smiled lightly, and replied, “My sister got married.”
Bella sucked in a breath, her voice dropping to a whisper. “Wait, seriously? Ms. Finley got married?”
Marina hesitated for a moment, then glanced up at Bella, a hint of surprise in her eyes. “You know my sister?”
Bella’s face turned awkward, and she said a bit sheepishly, “I looked into your family background.”
Marina frowned.
Bella quickly apologized, “Sorry, sorry, it’s just a habit of mine. If I crossed a line, I really didn’t mean to. I just thought Mr. Zamora seems to treat you special, so I checked it out, and I found out you’re Ms. Finley’s sister.”
Since Daron and Elnora were classmates, it was no wonder he looked out for Marina.
I’m actually a fan of Ms. Finley. I really admire her,” Bella added.
Marina pressed her lips together. She wasn’t thrilled that Bella had been snooping into her family, but if it helped keep her marriage to Daron a secret, it wasn’t the worst thing. She could live with it for now.
Marina just hummed in response, not saying anything more.
Bella picked up on Marina’s mood and didn’t push the conversation any further. She awkwardly looked away and got back to work.
She just couldn’t believe Elnora had actually gotten married.
She always figured a boss lady like Elnora would never tie the knot.

Bella was dying to gossip, but…
She caught sight of Marina’s cool, unbothered look and dropped it.
Daron’s video conference dragged on for ages.
At one point, Marina slipped into the office to refill his tea.

Daron never even glanced up from his computer. He just reached out, took the cup of tea she set down, and took a gentle sip.
Seeing that, Marina quietly slipped out of the office.
Garret was the head of the Frency branch, and with Daron and Leo battling for control, things over there had gotten pretty complicated.
He had to keep a close eye on everything, making sure he caught every bit of information, so that once he recovered and returned to the office, he could take charge of the whole situation.
So even though Garret was still confined to bed, he still had to join the video conference.
Because the meeting was so serious, everyone stayed sharp, not daring to let their guard down for even a moment.
Once the meeting ended, all the other execs switched off their cameras, but Garret stayed right there on screen, looking like he wasn’t going anywhere.
Just as Daron was about to turn off his own camera, he noticed Garret still staring at the screen, totally focused. Daron asked, his voice deep and steady, “Do you have any questions?”
Garret nodded and said, “Yes.”
Daron frowned, his voice low and firm. “Just spit it out. Don’t act all coy like some girl.”
Garret grinned, brushed his lips with his finger, and joked, “What, did you go in for a kiss and get bitten by some girl?”
Daron frowned, about to answer, when he realized the other execs had only switched off their cameras. Their mics were still on, so clearly, nobody had actually left the meeting yet.
They’d all noticed something odd about Daron’s lip earlier, but none of them had the nerve to bring it up like Garret just did.
Most of them had been ready to log off, but the moment Garret asked, everyone was suddenly all ears, waiting to see how Daron would respond.
But Daron didn’t bother to answer. He just hung up the call without another word.
Everyone else was left staring at their screens, full of curiosity and question marks.
‘Did Mr. Zamora really go in for a kiss and end up getting bitten by some girl?‘ they all wondered.
‘Who is this girl, anyway? How could she not fall for Mr. Zamora’s charm?‘ they thought.
Who would’ve thought Mr. Zamora, always so strict and dignified in public, would be acting all bossy and possessive in private?‘ they all gossiped to themselves.
