Hearing Daron’s reply. Marina felt her heart settle a little.

She rested her head against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. In that moment, she didn’t want to think about what the future might hold for them. She just wished time could freeze right here.
Daron reached up and gently rubbed Marina’s head, his voice deep and serious.
Daron said, “Anna, remember, we’re husband and wife. If anyone ever bullies you, you have to tell me.”
He added, “If someone dares to hurt you, they’re hurting me.”
Marina softly replied, “Mm,” her voice barely above a whisper.
She knew he was just showing off that typical male protectiveness, but she couldn’t help feeling moved by his words.
Just as she was about to reach out and wrap her arms around his waist, a knock sounded at the office door.
Marina quickly pulled away from his embrace, glancing down to check if her outfit looked alright.
Daron watched her, his brows knitting together in mild annoyance.
“You act like you’re ashamed to be seen with me,” he grumbled.
Marina looked up, noticing the slight annoyance on his face, and replied softly, “I’m just trying to keep things low–key so no one gets suspicious.”
Daron let out a cold snort and sat back down in his office chair.
Marina pressed her lips together and stood off to the side, looking prim and proper.
When the assistant pushed the door open and walked in, he saw Marina standing by Daron’s desk, looking like she was being scolded.
Out of the corner of his eye, he caught Daron shooting him a look that said he was in for it. Thinking he was about to get in trouble, he hurried over and set the clothing bag down on Daron’s desk.
‘Mr. Zamora, this is the outfit the brand sent over,” the assistant said.
Daron nodded, giving Matina a quick look.
“Take it, he ordered.
Marina hesitated for a moment, then collected herself and walked over to grab the clothing bag, murmuring, “Thank you, Mr. Zamora.”
Daron narrowed his eyes, but let it go without another word.
The assistant thought to himself that Marina’s choice of color was way too flashy today, and that must’ve gotten on Daron’s
nerves.
But since Marina held a special place in Daron’s heart, he personally had the brand send over new clothes for her to change
into.
“Mr. Zamora, if there’s nothing else, I’ll head out now,” the assistant said, taking the hint.

He quickly left Daron’s office, not wanting to overstay his welcome.
Once the assistant left, Marina couldn’t help but take a peek inside the clothing bag.
“What’s this?” she wondered aloud.
She pulled out the clothes and realized it was a tracksuit, raising her eyebrow in surprise.
“Are we going to play some basketball or something?” she asked.
Daron nodded.
“Mm,” he replied.
He stood up from his chair, checked the time, and said in a calm tone, “Try it on and see if it fits.”

Marina checked the size tag and said nonchalantly, “It’s my size. No need to try it on now. I’ll just change when we get to the golf course.”
Daron shot a look toward the dressing room and said, his voice low, “What, as your husband, I can’t get a preview of you in your golf outfit?”
His teasing made Marina blush, her cheeks turning pink before she could stop it.
Daron reached out and opened the dressing room door. “Go try it on for me. I’ve never seen you in golf gear before.”
She really had never worn golf clothes before.
Back in Vrufield, she was always busy with etiquette lessons, and after moving to Sicester, she was swamped with studies and building up Ross Group. She’d never had a chance to even think about golf.
Even she had never seen herself in golf attire. With Daron watching her expectantly, she walked into the dressing room.
When Marina came out in her golf outfit, Daron was still waiting by the door.
Seeing her in that sporty skirt, his eyes grew darker, a smoldering intensity flickering in his gaze.
After all this time together, he’d almost never seen her in a skirt before.
He already knew her legs were incredible, but now, with her standing in front of him in that skirt, looking radiant and full of energy, he just couldn’t take his eyes off her.
Marina caught the heavy look in Daron’s eyes, and her smile froze for a moment. She looked down at herself, suddenly feeling a bit self–conscious.
“Is something wrong with it?” she asked nervously.
Daron’s expression grew even more serious, his voice cool. “I could’ve sworn I told them to send the set with pants
Marina shrugged lightly, her tone casual. “Honestly, I think this looks pretty good. Want me to try on the shoes?”
She said it as she bent down, popping open the shoe box with a relaxed air.
Daron’s eyes grew even darker as he watched her bend over. Without missing a beat, he whipped out his phone and called someone, demanding they send over a new outfit immediately.

Marina was momentarily stunned, a flicker of confusion crossing her face.
“Does it look bad on me?” she asked.
Daron shook his head, his voice low. “No.”
Seeing his furrowed brow and how serious he looked, Marina decided not to push it any further.
Still, she couldn’t shake this weird, inexplicable feeling in her chest.
Not long after, the brand sent over another outfit. This time, a sporty set with pants.
Marina tried it on, and Daron seemed pretty happy with the result.

She personally thought the skirt looked way better, but figured Daron was probably meeting older clients at the golf course for business, so she didn’t make a fuss and just went back to the dressing room to change.
Seeing Marina about to change, Daron stopped her. “No need to switch outfits. Just keep that on. We’re heading out right
now.”
Marina nodded, “Alright.”
She walked into the dressing room to tidy up the clothes she’d just changed out of. Her gaze lingered on the red blazer, a wave of emotion washing over her.
Marina folded the blazer with care before putting it away.
When she stepped out of the dressing room, Daron was sitting there, talking with Chloe.
Chloe saw Marina come out in a new outfit and flashed her a warm, friendly smile.
Marina caught the knowing look in Chloe’s eyes, and her cheeks turned bright red in an instant.
She could tell Chloe was totally misreading the situation.
Marina started to say something to clear things up, but realized that explaining would just make it even more awkward. She hesitated, lips moving, but ended up keeping her mouth shut.
Daron checked the documents, signed them, and handed them to Chloe.
Chloe took the papers.
Marina spoke up at just the right moment. “I’ll go grab my bag.”
Daron nodded and said, “Alright.”
Marina walked out of Daron’s office, with Chloe right behind her.
Just as Marina was about to head toward the office area, Chloe reached out and caught her by the arm.
“Ms. Finley… Chloe called out.
Marina stopped and turned to look at her, a puzzled expression on her face.
“Is something wrong, Chloe?” she asked.

Chloe parted her lips, ready to say something, but then remembered the look Daron had given Marina as she left. It suddenly dawned on her, and she decided to keep quiet instead.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just realized I can’t find that report you gave me last time. Do you have a backup? If you do, could you send it over?” Chloe said.
Marina nodded and replied softly, “Sure, I’ll send you the document right away.”
“There’s probably a copy in my inbox too.”
Chloe nodded, understanding.
