A hint of confusion flashed in Marina’s eyes as she glanced toward where Summer, the secretary, had just left. Still, she made her way to the office area.
She walked over to her workstation, bent down, and picked up her handbag.
Bella looked a bit surprised as her gaze landed on Marina, then she asked, “Ms. Finley, did you change your clothes?”
Marina glanced down at her sportswear and gave a small nod. “Yeah, I changed.”
Bella cocked her head, looking like she was deep in thought.
Marina interrupted her train of thought with a smile. “I’m heading to the golf course with Mr. Zamora to meet a client soon. The suit I had on earlier was just too attention–grabbing, so I had no choice but to switch outfits.”
Bella blinked and said quietly, “I thought Mr. Zamora gave you a hard time.”
After all, when Joyce and Marina clashed earlier, Joyce openly criticized Marina’s choice of clothes.
Most people in the office were just waiting to see Marina get embarrassed.
“Of course not. Mr. Zamora is generous. He wouldn’t criticize me over what I wear. Besides, I was still in a suit, just a brighter color. As long as it looks professional, it shouldn’t be a problem, right?” Marina said.
Bella nodded absentmindedly.
Marina grabbed her handbag and said casually, “I’m heading out.”
Bella nodded, watching Marina leave, her eyes showing a hint of envy.
Marina probably didn’t even know the company had an explicit rule: suits in the office had to be black, white, or gray, no other colors allowed.
But then again, Marina hadn’t signed any employment contract with Zamora Group. Technically, she wasn’t even part of the company, so it was only natural she got to enjoy perks the regular staff could only dream of.
Honestly, just her presence here was already something out of the ordinary.
Bella made up her mind right then. She’d never go along with the other employees when it came to Marina, and she’d make sure not to cross her, ever.”
Marina grabbed her handbag and headed to Daron’s office.
When she pushed the door open and walked in, Daron was in the middle of taking off his shirt. The sight of his perfectly sculpted back muscles left Marina frozen for a few seconds.
In that stern, businesslike office, as Daron peeled off his black shirt, every movement seemed to happen in slow motion for Marina.
Marina swallowed hard, unable to help herself.
“Close the door,” Daron said, his deep voice cutting through Marina’s distraction.
She hurried to close the door behind her.

After closing the door, it hit Marina that maybe she should just step out.
Daron spoke up again. “Help me fold my clothes,” he said, his voice low and commanding.

Without thinking, Marina found herself moving toward him, ready to do as he asked.
The shirt and suit pants Daron had just taken off were still radiating his warmth. Was she imagining things, or did they feel almost burning hot in her hands? Her face was practically on fire.
Marina bit her lip, quickly folding Daron’s shirt and pants and placing them together with her own clothes.
Daron spotted the red suit in Marina’s hand and said in his usual cool tone, “Hand it over.”
Before Marina even realized what was happening, Daron had already taken the garment bag from her.
She said quickly and quietly, a little flustered, “I was going to take this to the dry cleaner.”
Daron nodded. “Don’t worry, I’ll have someone handle it.”
His tone was so matter–of–fact that Marina just nodded and agreed, “Alright:”
What she didn’t expect was that after giving the suit to Daron that day, she wouldn’t see it again for quite a while.
At the golf course, the driver pulled up to the curb and stopped. Marina hopped out right behind Daron.
A staff member came over, took Daron’s golf clubs out of the trunk, and slung them over his shoulder.
Daron walked ahead, his pace steady and unhurried, glancing back every now and then at Marina, who was trailing a couple of steps behind.
She was clearly playing it by the book, doing everything she could to keep their marriage under wraps and not let anything slip.
She kept things strictly professional, acting like they were just boss and employee.
Her expression was so serious, and whenever their eyes met, she was super polite and respectful. Daron felt an urge to tease
her.
The golf cart attendant drove the cart over.
Daron got in first.
Marina slid into the seat right beside him. After the caddy climbed in, Daron reached out and gently took Marina’s hand in
his.
Marina’s heart skipped a beat. She tried to discreetly pull her hand away, not wanting anyone to notice.
But Daron just gripped her hand even tighter, refusing to let go.
She couldn’t risk making a scene or yanking her hand back, so Marina forced herself to keep a straight face, acting like everything was perfectly normal.
They were almost at the course.

As Marina looked up, she spotted Joyce standing not far away.
There was a guy in black sportswear standing next to Joyce.
Marina remembered seeing Howard Milner in the news before, and her face changed a bit.
Daron didn’t expect meet Howard at the golf course.
The Milner Family had already announced Howard as their heir, and now he was running all their businesses.

Lately, the Zamora family and the Milner Family had gotten really close, and the Milners had been angling to set up an engagement between Joyce and Daron for ages.
If the two families weren’t so tight, they wouldn’t even be thinking about something like that.
Thinking about all the little schemes Daron’s relatives had been pulling lately, Marina suddenly got why he was so determined to keep their marriage under wraps.
She quickly pulled her hand away from Daron’s grip and smacked his hand, hard.
She put a stop to his wandering hand with that slap.
The caddy sitting behind them witnessed everything, and when he saw the five distinct finger marks Marina left on Daron’s hand, he was left speechless.
‘Better make sure I never get on her bad side, the caddy thought to himself.
Daron glanced down at the bright red mark on the back of his hand, let out a helpless chuckle, and looked at Marina.
“Wow, you really didn’t hold back, huh?”
Marina gave Daron a stern look.
“Mr. Zamora, keep it professional,” she said, her voice steady.
Daron raised an eyebrow and let out a low chuckle.
The valet and the caddy didn’t dare make a sound the whole time.
They’d served Daron plenty of times before, but they’d never seen him act like this.
Turns out, Daron was just like all those other big shots. Whenever he was interested in a girl, he’d make the same moves
It was obvious this girl worked closely with Daron
She was basically stepping right into the lion’s den Sooner or later, Daron would devour her whole.
After all, whether in Vrufield or anywhere else in the country, who could possibly stand a chance against a guy like Daron!
The caddy tried to hide the envy in his eyes.
Life among the rich really is something else, he thought.
