Chapter 328
Today, the executive office was the busiest department in the company.
After lunch, Marina dove right back into work.

There was a major meeting scheduled for the afternoon, bringing together all the top executives and shareholders of the Zamora Group.
After lunch, Marina and Bella headed upstairs together to distribute materials and get everything ready for the meeting.
Bella had been holding it in all the way, but as soon as it was just the two of them, she couldn’t help but ask.
“Ms. Finley, why did Mr. Zamora want you to sit at the main table? Are you two dating?”
Bella had been wondering about this for a while now.
She guessed Daron was probably dating Marina, which would explain why he was treating her like royalty.
And ever since Marina joined the Zamora Group, Joyce hardly ever came around anymore.
Joyce hadn’t even been seen around lately.
Marina kept her expression neutral as she answered in a flat tone, “There’s nothing going on between Mr. Zamora and me.”
“He probably just needed me for something work–related. Honestly, I was so tired then, all I cared about was getting some
food.”
Bella looked at her with a hint of admiration. “You actually dared to say no to Mr. Zamora?”
Marina gave a wry smile. “Everyone has to eat, after all.”
“Besides, I’m only working at Zamora Group for three months, and I’ve still got a little over two months left. So it’s not like I have to be too careful.”
Bella nodded awkwardly as if she’d been convinced by Marina’s explanation.
“I really envy you rich girls. If you don’t want to be a workhorse, you just don’t have to be,” Bella said.
Marina replied in a calm voice. “Who says that?”
“Once I go back to the Finley Group, I doubt I’ll have it this easy.”
Elnora had been staying in Port City for a while now.
Over the past couple of days, most of the private messages she sent to her were actually being replied to by Albert.
His replies were always short and to the point.
Basically, he said Elnora was resting and focusing on her recovery.
She’d get in touch once she was feeling a little better.
Elnora’s first round of treatment would take six months, and then she’d need another twelve months for the recovery phase.

Luckily, the Finley Group was being run by a proxy for now, so nothing big was happening over there.
“Yeah, I mean, the Finley Group isn’t exactly in great shape these days.”
Seeing that Marina’s expression barely changed, Bella quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Marina didn’t answer. When they heard footsteps coming from outside, both of them instinctively fell silent.
Soon enough, all the shareholders and top executives of the Zamora Group filed into the office.

Seliv had no idea that Marina and Daron were already married. As she walked into the meeting room, she gave Marina a friendly nod and a smile, kind of greeting her.
Marina kept her polite, professional smile and pulled out a chair for Seliv.
Once Seliv was seated, she thanked Marina softly, “Sorry to trouble you.”
“No problem,” Marina replied.
After Marina and Bella got all the documents and drinks ready, they started heading out the door.
Just as Marina was about to step out, Edmund called out to her with a grin.
“Marina, mineral water’s just not my thing. Mind making me a cup of coffee instead?” he asked.
Marina nodded. “No problem.”
Matthew didn’t say a word, just snorted as he passed by Marina, then went straight to his seat and sat down.
Harris was talking with Daron, following behind as they entered.
When Harris saw Marina, he didn’t pay her any special attention. He and Daron just walked into the meeting room one after the other.
Daron shot Marina a look, but she instinctively avoided his gaze and made her way to the break room.
Bella hurried after her, unable to quite put her finger on it, but she could’ve sworn there was a touch of wistfulness in Daron’s eyes when he looked at Marina.
The three elders of the Zamora family all had a habit of drinking coffee.
So even though only Edmund had actually asked, Marina went ahead and made coffee for Harris and Matthew too, just in
case,
Bella helped carry the coffee into the meeting room.
When Matthew saw a cup of coffee set down in front of him, he looked a little more pleased.
‘At least she knows how to behave, he thought.
But after that bitter coffee he’d tasted at the Zamora house before, he still had a bit of a trauma about it.
So when Marina brought over Edmund’s cup, he said in a low voice, “Edmund, I want the one you’re holding. You take this
one.”
Edmund just nodded, not minding at all. ‘Sure.”

Seeing he’d agreed, Marina placed the cup she was holding on Matthew’s table.
Then she swapped the cups, setting the other one in front of Edmund.
With a smile, Edmund turned to Marina. “So, Marina, what kind of coffee did you make?”
Edmund smiled at Marina. “So, Marina, what kind of coffee did you make for me?”

Marina answered softly, “Since Mr. Zamora isn’t much of a coffee drinker, the break room doesn’t stock many varieties. I made some Americano.”
Edmund nodded in approval. “Sounds good.”
As soon as Daron announced the meeting was starting, Marina and Bella quietly slipped out of the conference room.
This time, Daron’s other assistant was in charge of the meeting minutes.
Marina and Bella waited outside the conference room, ready to bring in anything if anyone inside needed something.
Downstairs, Chloe and her team were organizing for the senior execs from the branch offices to head over to Zamora Winery.
The party tonight was being held there.
Once the meeting wrapped up, all the shareholders and top executives made their way to the Zamora Winery.
Bette didn’t have any shares in the Zamora Group, so she got to the winery early to help out with the guests.
Today, all the employees of the executive office were, as usual, wearing suits, just like any other workday.
Bette brought a dress for Marina to the winery earlier, just to be prepared.
So when Marina arrived, Bette rushed over and insisted she go change into it.
“The Zamora family invited some representatives from a few elite families tonight,” Bette said.
“You should change into your dress and stay by Daron’s side later. That way, people will know…”
Before Bette could finish, Zara cut Daron off as he walked ahead of Marina.
“Daron, I just tried playing the piano. My hand’s all good. I can still play the opening piece with you, just like we planned, Zara said, sounding totally confident.
Bette frowned and shot Zara a look.
Marina glanced over too, spotting Zara already dressed in a white gown.
Even though she was in a wheelchair, Zara’s graceful, ethereal presence was hard to ignore.
Marina couldn’t help but think back to the rumors Bella had gossiped about before, especially the talk about who Daron’s fiancée might be.
The Zamora Group held a big annual gala every year, and this wasn’t the first time Zara made an appearance like this.
The Zamora family had never made it clear who Zara really was to them.

So naturally, everyone kept speculating about Zara and Daron’s relationship.

Marina already knew Zara would be playing the opening piano piece with Daron tonight, so her mood wasn’t affected in the slightest.
She calmly looked away and politely declined Bette’s suggestion. “Thanks, Bette, but I won’t change. This is fine.”
Bella was waving at Marina, so Marina said a quick goodbye to Bette and headed over.
It turned out Chloe had just fainted in the restroom and couldn’t handle the guest reception anymore, so she had to ask Marina to step in for her.
Seeing Chloe’s pale face, Marina nodded without hesitation and agreed to help. She immediately had someone escort Chloe to the hospital.
